governor jeb bush will hold meet and greets and a rally with his mother and former first lady barbara bush across the upstate. their first stop is at 9:30 at wade's restaurant in spartanburg. then, they will go to the kroc community center in greenville at noon. after that, they will hold a rally at d-w daniel high school in central that starts at 6:45. 3 3 marcio rubio has several campaign stops planned throughout the state with south carolina governor nikki haley. they will wrap up at clemson with a rally at the madren conference center pavilion. doors open at 6:30 tonight and the event starts at 7:30. 3 3 senator ted cruz is traveling across the state with phil robertson of duck dynasty fame. he will hold a rally at the greenville marriott that starts at 8:45 tonight. 3 3 doctor ben carson does not have any events scheduled in the upstate. he is holding a veterans patriot action conference in charleston at 10:15 this morning. then he will host a town hall meeting at the florence civic center at 3:30 p-m. 3 3 governor john kasich is hosting a town hall in columbia. it is from 10 to 11 this morning at "the hall at

3 a big update this morning... in duke energy's efforts to switch it's lake julian power plant from coal to natural gas. the staff for the north carolina utilities commission now recommends rejecting duke's proposal to build a third unit there. the commission does not have to follow the staff's recommendation, but mountain true says it is a sign they are scrutinizing duke's plan. 3 23:04 "we're hopeful. i think it's a good sign. the staff's recommendation is definitely a step in the right direction and we hope the utilities commission listens to their staff and moves in this direction." the utilities commission is expected to make a decision by march first. 3 3 3 happening today... a jewelry store owner in sylva will be

county for a plea agreement hearing. duane ball, who goes by jay, was indicted in august ononfederal charges after agents raided his store, "jewelry outlet." ball was charged with illegally selling guns and prescription drugs. 3 3 deputies in anderson county need your help finding a wanted fugitive. jaquaries jackson, also known as jaquaries paschal, is wanted in connection with a kidnapping and attempted murder. he is also wanted for questioning in a separate homicide investigation. deputies say jackson is considered armed and dangerous. and that he may be staying in the charlotte or greensboro area. if you have any information call crimestoppers at 888-crime-sc. 3 3 a man died after his truck smashed into a home in gaston county. police believe the driver suffered a medical condition, causing his vehicle to speed, leave the road, and then hit the home. a neighbor said the driver never hit the brakes, and the impact sounded like an explosion. another witness say bricks flew through the truck's windshield when it hit, and landed on the

3 3 the investigation contineus today... into a deadly plane crash southeast of charlotte. investigators say the single engine plane went down in a wooded area in marshville. the pilot was killed. he was identified as james cook of lexington. authorities say he reported engine problems before the crash. 3 3 3 in this morning's newreel... a public viewing is set for today for late justice antonin scalia., who died unexpectedly last weekend in texas at the age 79. he will lie in repose in the great hall at the supreme court. his family, friends and justices will attend a private ceremony, then the hall will open to the public until 8 p-m. 3 three people were hurt... one critically... when their sightseeing helicopter crashed into the water in pearl harbor, hawaii. somone on shore shot video as the copter just dropped into the water and rolled on its side. five people were on board. the n-t-s-b will investigate the crash... the nearby u-s-s arizona memorial was closed to visitors for the rest of the day. 3 a key isis target has been destroyed in iraq. this is

in iraq. coalition forces say the strike destroyed a facility isis used to store cash and collect taxes. the video actually shows paper money flying through the air after a round of explosions. officials say the strikes should disrupt the terror group's financial and command and control operations. 3 some beekeepers in california are trying to figure out who is stealing their beehives. they say beehives have been disappearing, just as pollination season is getting under way. beekeepers ship their bees to almond farmers, who use them to pollinate crops. that adds about 15-billion dollars to the crop value in california. so if you do the math, it pays for t t thieves to steal beehives. officials say beekeepers should mark their beehives and install tracking devices. 3 3 3 3 it's a doggie dog world in television. coming up... how this pooch made his way onto

3 it is 5:xx ... a little rock t-v station's campaign to add a puppy to its staff has worked! the dog belongs to a k- a-r-k employee who happened to bring the pup to work one day last week. the golden retriever named "shade".. won the hearts of staffers... but not the station's bosses. k-a-r-k's news director decided to make a deal that if a photo of shade on the station's facebook page got 100-thousand likes, he could stay around as station mascot. well, the photo didn't get enough likes by the deadline... but after some
