gadsden park. . lawmakers in the senate talk about their road plan. one group is lobbying against passing a gas tax. senators from both parties are trying to reach a compromise. gas tax for roads revenue, d.o.t. reform and an income tax cut. but the group americans for prosperity are against the gas tax saying they want to focus on reforming the transportation system in the state. they're calling on lawmakers to move the department of transportation under the governor. >> they support a plan that includes more gas tax hikes. sending more money to the same dysfunctional corrupt transportation system that has let our roads crumble to where they are right now. >> its a not because legislators don't care or they're ignoring the problem because it's hard. there are philosophical divides

this is what we have going on. we're watching two systems, this system hear producing a little bit of mixed precipitation mainly in arkansas. that will be the system that had swing through the area tomorrow. and this system up here near idaho, that will produce rain by friday. we'll zoom in a little bit closer and can you see the clouds building into the upstate and as that system, that first system approaches, you may see snow in the upstate of south carolina. i think our forecast model does a good job of showing exactly what we expect. the clouds increase tomorrow. a little bit of snow in the upstate. not a big deal for us here in the midlands, maybe a rinkle, maybe a light shower, but not expecting much in the ray of rainfall. clouds build into thursday. an opportunity for some showers. but right now our best chance for rain comes in on friday. the rain moves in on friday and you can look towards our north, above the south carolina/north carolina line and parts of charleston and raleigh, they're expecting rain.
