a teen is dead and the man that shot him has been charged with voluntary manslaughter. deputies arrested jimmy joe methe for murder. when deputies arrived at the home, the suspect said he shot the teen after seeing him and another person stealing his items from his truck. they found the teen lying in the road 35 feet away. in a statement, the sheriff said the law does not allow you to kill someone who has stolen from you. the suspect is being held at

new crime figures are out and south carolina has seen some improvements and decreases in others of the the rate of property crimes was down 6%. however assaults on law enforcement officers increased. there were 293 murders in the state in 2013 that's down 14% from the previous year but at the same time there were 679 assaults on police officers, 40 more than the prior year. you can help some moms in the mid lands, the nonprofit, moms for moms wants to give away thousands of diapers to needy families. today they held their inaugural

as we go through the rest of monday morning a warm air surge is moving in. we should have all rain by midday. we get a break in the rain monday afternoon and late monday evening into the overnight hours it's a better chance of rain again. this will be all rain as this system pushes through. by tuesday afternoon we should see some sunshine. rye now forecast models are indicating some freezing rain in the northern midlands. tonight cold will be a big deal. lows into the 20s and upper teens.

highs for valentines day in the lower 40s. 44 in orangeburg, manning 41 and this is what we are expecting for the seven-day forecast, partly cloudy in the afternoon. 42 sunday, chance of a wintery mix sunday into monday. for the most part this is a rain event. sibt by tuesday. -- 60 by tuesday. highs in the middle 60s by friday and close to 70 degrees by the middle of next weekend. so we have freezing rain, small amounts for monday morning. we are going to watch that closely.
