m jamie staton. there is an active situation on dave street right off of smith road. it is not clear what brought officers to this location. we will continue to giving updates on this situation as it new developments this noon in an attempted robbery police say was stopped by a 65-year-old woman monday on south porter street. manchester police say warrants have been issued for two women they believe were involved in the incident. right now, police are looking for 21-year-old julie lambert and 26-year-old amanda gurley. they both are wanted for conspiracy to commit robbery. the victim shot 23-year-old michael bontaites in the chest during the incident. police found bontaites when he went to the hospital, and charged him in the crime. a manchester man faces a slew of charges for allegedly assaulting a police officer. manchester police responded to a call of a man waving a knife at people in the area of beech street yesterday. police say when they arrived,

ousman trawalley concealing an x-acto knife in his shirt sleeve. trawalley allegedly became approached. no one was seriously injured, and police were able to get a hold of the knife. a review board has unanimously affirmed the sentenced of a plaistow man convicted of abusing his girlfriend' s three-year-old son. that means roland dow will serve 25.5 to 67 years in prison. prosecutors say dow inflicted physical and emotional abuse on was the son of dow' s live-in girlfriend jessica linscott. dow was found guilty of abusing the youngster so violently that he suffered brain damage and blindness. right now, crews are working to repair a water main break that led to an early dismissal at central high school. the break happened at beech and lowell streets. buses were available for the no word on when the repairs on be finished. been sentenced for beating someone with a baseball bat and

years to 30 years for first degree assault, a consecutive four to 15 for conspiracy to commit first degree assault, and a consecutive 10 to 30 for kidnapping with nine years of the minimum suspended on the kidnapping charge. williams pled guilty in a plea agreement. officials in paris are opening a terrorism investigation after they say a man carrying a butcher' s knife and wearing fake explosives showed up at a police station in northern paris. authorities say the man was shot and killed and was later found with a cell phone and a piece of paper with an islamic state emblem and a claim of responsibility written in arabic. this incident comes exactly one year after the attack on "charlie hebdo" newspaper that killed 12 people. new details about 17 miners who were rescued after being trapped about 900 feet below ground. the miners were descending to the floor of a 2300-foot deep mine when they got stuck.

how about that? the dow dropped nearly 300 points today after the opening this comes as china' continue to plunge, triggering the second automatic halt in trading this week. the dow is logging its worst start to a year since 2008. the price of oil has sunk to its lowest level in 12 years. several cars where damaged last night when a driver crashed her suv into a dealership lot in manchester. the accident happened around 10:30 at second street auto. police say a woman' s suv hit a snow bank before slamming into a domino effect. a total of three suv' s at the dealership were damaged. the 75-year-old driver told officers that the accident happened when she got a cramp in her hand. she was taken to the hospital as a precaution. right now, boston police are investigating vandalism at fenway park. the team says a large number six in honor of johnny pesky was scribbled with black graffiti. officials say the paint was found wednesday, but it' s not clear when the vandalism happened.

jamie: another presidential hopeful is throwing his hat into the race for the white house. former new mexico governor gary johnson announced that he is running as a libertarian. he was the party' s nominee in 2012. an email sent to reporters from johnson said, quote, "america needs a president who will push back against the growth of government and mean it." the conversation is ramping-up regarding ted cruz' s u.s. citizenship. donald trump this noon is questioning whether cruz is even eligible to be president because he was born in canada. abc' s kenneth moton has more from washington. kenneth: cruz' s citizenship. today, more questions about ted cruz' s legal right to run for president. the texas senator born in canada to an american mother. sen. cruz: as a legal matter the

with a few high clouds here and there. it is making for a beautiful winter afternoon. quite a few extra clouds back to our west and to our south, but most of that activity staying at pressure staying in control. temperatures again back to fairly similar levels we saw this morning. just falling below 0 in the north country. teens and 20' tonight. we will see a fairly weak system come on shore, and then this line of rain makes its presence known on sunday. until then, temperatures rebound nicely. pushing 40 degrees, 40, 42 and a couple of southeastern areas later on this afternoon. you look at the temperature difference between yesterday and today -- we are looking at a temperature difference of about 2 to 5 degrees. we are on the uptick here.

outdoors, a lot better than earlier this week that is for sure. low and mid 20' spots. make their way on shore. it may be thick enough that we may start to see enough to develop later tomorrow s. on friday evening, we will be looking for temperatures as a fallback to maybe produce a couple of spots. it won' t be terribly organized, but what is out there can cause a few slick spots. there will be a chance of a mixed shower saturday. there will be quite a few clouds as well. there should be a lot of dry hours in between as well. back to our west, if this arrives early saturday morning, there could be a mix initially, but it will fall mainly as that will be heavy at times sunday afternoon and sunday night.

focused on youth, elementary and high school-aged youth, but the skills we learned that age carryover until into adulthood. probably a lot of the work that i do is working with youth between the ages of 8 and 18. jamie: so largely kids in school. why is it important to develop skills? debbie: it helps them to develop a sense of civic involvement because they are our future leaders, so today' s youth are tomorrow' s leaders come us would want to engage them early to become productive adults. it gives them the opportunity to experience volunteering, and we know a lot of organizations are in need of leaders. these are our future leaders by building the skills.

able to analyze their strengths and weaknesses and be able to goals. a lot of self-esteem, confidence, and the ability to carry out goals happens as a result of learning leadership skills. jamie: it is really about asking t it? because everybody at school, as i remember, wants to fit in. you are asking them to step up and be a little different. debbie: be a little different but also find themselves, find where they can learn to communicate, problem solve, planning skills, decision-making skills, negotiation skills -- there are a wide variety of skills being engaged outside of a school environment but also in a school environment. jamie: do you try to get parents involved as well?
