erin: now on "daybreak," one person is dead after a fire in andover. investigators say it appears to a very tragic accident. sean: an apparent road rage incident ends with a man stabbed and bleeding in the middle of a busy road. now police in massachusetts are looking for the other driver. kevin: early sunshine to clouds ahead of the next system which affects our weekend. the latest timeline ahead. erin: market jitters. it's been a very bad start to the year. experts have good news for investors. >> no one covers new

now wmur "news 9 daybreak." erin: good morning, new hampshire. on this friday you made it through the workweek almost. we're going to have a look at your forecast for the weekend. sean: we're about one work shift away. this weekend we could see some rainfall out there; right? kevin: we've enjoyed a lot of sunshine. the clouds locked in through the weekend. we may start with sunshine. the clouds will be drifting in. you can see them posed off shore. western and northern chance of seeing sunshine for longer. temperatures colder there initially. everyone levels off in the 30's this afternoon with increasing clouds maybe a little bit of drizzle in south eastern evening commute. much more on your weekend in just a bit. let's look at your friday morning ride here in the granite state. davidson. good friday morning, deb. deb: good friday morning, kevin. all of the major roads in the state of new

it is a great, easy commute. which is a great way to start your friday morning. we're not seeing any delays on 233 or or 93 in the southern part of the state. we are seeing some delays in massachusetts on 93 southbound. it is a bit congested in andover,women mington, and stoneham. i'm deb davidson for 95.8wzid. sean: an autopsy is planned after a man died in anodes fire in andover. erin: there was initial confusion when the first call game in. ray brewer is live to explain. ray: when firefighters first responded to one 189 kearsarge mountain road in andover just after noon yesterday they were responding to what they thought was a propane explosion. but investigators say they were able to determine there had not been an explosion. instead there was a fire

by the time the emergency crews arrived on the scene, they say a man was already dead. the man's name and cause released until an autopsy is completed later today. the cause of the fire is stillened investigation. they say at this point, the death and the fire both appear to be accidental. reporting live in andover, ray brewer. wmur news 9. sean: police are investigating a serious carver suggestion pedestrian crash in manchester. officers say a volkswagen jetta was heading west on auburn street just before 9:00 when it hit a woman near the entrance to market basket president the woman of the taken to elliot hospital with several serious injuries. the driver was not hurt. police have not identified either person involved. they may release more information later today. erin: police in massachusetts are looking for the man that stabbed another driver during a case of road rage. officers say the

they stopped, got out of their cars, and started to fight in the middle of rush hour. one man pulled a knife. >> we pulled up. there was a man laying down. people ran up and were throwing blankets on him. he seemed to be bleeding. somebody said he was in the middle of the street bleeding. erin: the victim of the taken to a boston hospital. the other driver took off and police are still looking for him. investigators say they do have a vehicle description, but they are not releasing it at this point. sean: u.s. stocks are off to their worst ever start to a year after the dow shed nearly 400 points yesterday. stocks in china are up and down again this morning raising new concerns for wall street. as abc's lana zak explains, experts say there's no need to panic. >> good morning. even as the chinese markets were correcting themselves today, financial experts here at home have been saying that individual

town hall meeting in virginia to discuss guns in america. one of its invited guests was a native of westmoreland. she was a victim of a domestic assault from her step-father. >> you have to have a license. you can't just sell off of the internet and gun shows anymore. i feel that people have to come from the table and work on the issue together. erin: new hampshire state police say they perform more than 8,000 background checks for guns last month alone. more than twice the usual number. sean: the sentence will stand for a man from plaistow convicted of abusing his girlfriend's 3-year-old son. a review board has denied rowland dow's request to reduce his time behind bars.

mother, jessica linscott were found after they dropped the little boy offer at the hospital. isaiah williams reached a plea deal yesterday. the victim was beaten with a baseball bat and gun. another man convicted of participating was sentenced in november. erin: sharing the story of james foley. the mother of the strain journalist is writing a book about her son and his death. sean: a teenager has her sight set on on olympics in curling.

is pollution. air pollution is killing an average of 4,000 china. a homeless man in california is recovering after he ended up inside a garbage truck. he was sleeping inside a dumpster and the garbage crew didn't notice hip. the truck made several stops and even man the compactor before they pounding. officials say a safety gate was just install on the truck a couple of weeks ago. that gate likely saved the man's life. he did suffer some crushing injuries. erin: time warner cables says that hackers may have stolen the e-mail addresses and passwords for more than 300,000 customer. they haven't figureed out yet how. there's no evidence of a breach. instead time warner says the information was likely stolen through malware. the first response test.

once you cloud over, you are likely there for the afternoon and likely all the way through the weekend as it stands as the next system starts to approach from the west. it is a fairly slow moving system. by the time it gets here, we'll see mostly rain from the system. looks like that is centered around sunday afternoon and sunday night. temperatures either side of zero up north. we're in the teens and 20's elsewhere. seasonally chilly this morning. we had the clear skies and light winds. as i mention, very light flow out of the east and southeast. the clouds that are off shore are going to continue to work their way on shore from southeast to eventually western parts of the state late morning and in to the afternoon. eventually up north later on this afternoon or in to early this evening. all the while the next system inches closer. high temperatures today back in to the 30's. with a fairly light wind. that flow out of the east and northeast just isn't all that strong. maybe ten miles an hour closer to the shoreline. here's the squeeze play going on. with the clouds coming on shore, there may be drizzle later on this afternoo closer to the shoreline.

should be harm free from that. more clouds continue to build in western and northern areas later this evening. with temperatures in the 30's today, we're okay drizzle. as temperatures cool off later tonight, any areas of patchy drizzle could be freezing drizzle or mixed shower. if you are stepping out the door early tomorrow there's the chance there could be a couple of slick highways. from there, no one particular region of the state pointed out over the other. with the clouds lingering around saturday night, we wait on the next system which starts to move in early sunday morning. if it is early enough, there could be a few areas below the freezing mark and could be more of a mix. as you'll notice, the sunday afternoon to sunday evening rain heavy at times. could be over an inch and a half of rainfall in a few spots out of that before moving away later sunday evening. again we're in the 30's. increasing clouds and later in the day a stray area of mixed shower

then any sort of early mix very early sunday morning gives way to rain. there could be some winds gusting out of the southeast over 40 mile an hour. maybe a lingering snow shower on monday. maybe a weak system with light snow on wednesday. the main push would be off shore. temperatures cooling off yet again. sean: we're going to need to freshen up the snow. kevin: that's true. erin: all right. we want to check our top stories with ray brewer. ray: an autopsy is planned after a man's body was discovered following a fire in andover. firefighters called to 189 kearsarge mountain road. the incident reported as a propane explosion. investigators determined there had not been an explosion. there was a fire in the brush pile outside of the home. by the time the crews arrived, a man was dead. his name and cause of death will not be released until the

the dow lost 400 points yesterday. more on the details on the stock market coming up in a live report from washington. sean: closer to home. an autopsy is being performed today on the body of a man who was killed in a fire in andover. erin: the deadly fire broke out shortly after noon yesterday. ray brewer live from the andover fire department. it was initially reported as an explosion; right? ray: the initial report coming in as a prepare explosion. it was later determined it never happened. it was a fire in a brush pile at 189 kearsarge mountain road. emergency crewing arrived on the scene. by the time they got there, they say the man was already dead. now officials are not releasing his name until after an autopsy is completed today. the cause of the fire remains under investigation. the state fire marshal's office says this is appears to be just a

is not considered suspicious. reporting live in andover, ray brewer, wmur news 9. erin: an explosion across the border in north andover left four people critically injured. the bras happened at a dow chemical plant. hospital officials say the four people hurt suffered shrapnel and burn injury.% the impact cause remains they do say they were the time. that appears to have come in to contact with water or air setting off the blast. >> what the patients had was blast injuries from the pressure of the explosion as well as the chemical on their bodies that they were exposed to. the patients were washed with water for an extensive period of time prior to coming in to remove any contaminants. erin: this is not the first time the plant has dealt with annexes motion. back in 2013, a dow employee died after suffering severe burns and other injuries

inside the lab at plant. sean: a woman found dead on bear pond road may have suffered an injury before she passed away. the body of allison robertson of center ossipee was discovered by a group of people night. it appears her car got stuck on a rock and she then fell and hurt get help. her body was found until in the snow. it appears she was laying there for a couple of days. >> turn around and got the lights on her. i realized it was an old lady. my regards go out to her family. i would like to get in contact with them and give them my wishes and everything. so, you know, let them know we were the ones that found her. she can rest in peace. sean: an autopsy is scheduled for today. erin: a manchester man is facing multiple charges after he assaulted some officers. they were called to hanover street for a report of a man waving a box cutter at people.

search the suspect, 24-year-old useman trawalley, he dropped the box cutter and started to struggle. he punched and kicked the officers before he arrest. >> had the officer not taken the quick actions that he took and secured the item in his hand, could have been possibility stabbed or seriously injured. fortunately no one sustained serious injuries. erin: trawalley is being held without bail pending a hearing later on today. they are searching for two women wanted in connection with an attempted robbery in which the suspect was shot in the chest. 21-year-old julie lambert and 26-year-old amanda gurley were both in the car. they are wanted on charges of conspiracy to commit robbery. police believe they might be in the manchester area. sean: salem police came to the rescue of an injured owl.

year. it is the worst four-day start on record. sean: what is wall street expecting today? nikole: economist are predicting another month of job grain. somewhere in the neighborhood of 200,000 jobs. they expect the unemployment rate will hold steady around 5%. if we get a strong jobs reported, many think it will be good enough to allow the markets and economy to weather some of the financial turmoil that we're seeing overseas and places like china. sean: live in washington. thank you. erin: a philadelphia police officer is recovering. the officer was ambushed and had to undergo surgery overnight. survivor. the suspect fired a total of 13 shots, hitting the officer three times in the arm. he turned fire and shot the suspect. there's no word yet on the suspects condition. sean: an israeli reporter was
