visit ncicap.org] erin: after a weekend of rain and record warmth, there is snow which will be arriving this i' m erin fehlau. little slick this evening. we have a live look from colebrook, where the snow will afternoon. meteorologist kevin skarupa is here with what we can expect. kevin: the numbers don' t tell you the whole story. it is all about timing sometimes . temperatures are likely at or below freezing. that could mean slick areas in time for the evening commute. still a few breaks of sunshine out there, but those will be few and far between. light snow to our south and west and moving in our direction. through the afternoon we will see the light snow develop and will pick up at times and eventually late as afternoon and early this evening, there could be a first where we see 1-3 inches of snow with even a brief

abilities, -- lowering visibilities. we will begin a more active pattern with the forecast, coming up. erin: just days after a three judge panel rejected his request to reduce his sentence, roland dow' s appeal has now been denied by the state supreme court. the plaistow man was convicted of severely beating his girlfriend' s son. dow was seeking a new trial claiming in part that some testimony was prejudicial to his case. ray brewer has read the decision, and is in the studio with more on the justices' reasoning. ray: the decision found that the trial judge in roland dow' s case acted appropriately in allowing the testimony. roland dow was convicted of abusing the three will child of his former girlfriend. in the appeal, he claimed the trial court made two major the first, that the judge allowed testimony that dow physically abused linscott.

dow in the trial. ray: in its decision, the supreme court says the recent for the role is to make sure the defendant is tried upon the merits of the crime he is charged with. in siding with the trial court, the supreme court wrote that the testimony about the abuse linscott suffered at the hands of dow explained why she delayed reporting dubious. -- reporting the abuse. ray: the second mistake made by the trial court, according to the appeal, was allowing an expert witness to testify regarding the effects of domestic violence on a victim. the defense claiming in part that the testimony unfairly s case. but the supreme court rejected that argument, citing the jury instructions where the judge

ray: this decision means that dow will continue to serve ascendance of 25 to six and seven years in prison although court to reconsider the decision. ray brewer, wmur news 9. erin: the man who sexually assaulted and murdered a unh student is filing an appeal to have his convictions reversed. seth mazzaglia is serving a life sentence without parole for killing 19-year-old lizzi marriott. he was also convicted on lesser charges, including witness tampering. the questions the defense are asking the court to resolve have been redacted from the paperwork that was filed. the state will have until march 11 to respond.
