m deb davidson for 95.7 wzid. sean: we do start with breaking news in manchester. firefighters are battling a two alarm fire on west street near the intersection with granite. crews have been on the scene for more than a half-hour now. there is no word yet as to any injuries or what may have sparked this fire. we will bring you more information once we learned. you will want to avoid the area around west street. erin: plans to bring housing, shopping, and dining options to merrimack and salem are moving forward. developers have presented plans. the proposals include lots of retail, office, and restaurant space, plus hotel and living space. the plans would create a lot of jobs and generate tax revenue. >> we are to do a multifaceted

grocer, shops, all kinds of restaurants. there will be some fun upscale residential' s. it will be very urban. erin: the salem projects also includes brownstone-style living spaces and luxury apartment buildings. the approval process is just getting underway. sean: the volatility on wall street continues. the outlook for today is already down. the price of crude oil dropped below $27 per barrel for the first time since 2003. many investors are worried it signals a slowdown of the global economy. drivers filling up at gas stations are not complaining about the falling prices. >> i' m on a fixed income, i' m retired, and it makes the money go further.

manchester. erin: firefighters are battling a two alarm fire in west street. ray brewer joins us live. ray: firefighters are just about to declare this fire under control. according to the manchester fire chief, it was reported around 5:00 this morning at 49 west street, which is a vacant building. when firefighters arrived, they had fire on all three floors. it is also a congested area. they had to evacuate the two surrounding buildings. no one was injured. no firefighters or anyone else. there is no reason for this fire to have started, the chief says. they are classifying this fire as suspicious at this point. the fire is just about to be declared under control. the did go to two alarms on this fire. no one injured.

intensify over the next 24 hours or so. as it heads toward the mid-atlantic, it is going to bring very heavy snow for places like washington dc and into the appalachian mountains in that pink area. even into philadelphia and baltimore. there could be upwards of two feet of snow. notice that that does not get to us. we are on the fringe of this storm system. if we are lucky, southern communities may get a dusting of snow late saturday night, but that may not even happen to be honest with you. here is how things go today. bright and sunny, cold, windy. passing clouds up north. the difference tomorrow will be that the wind will not be as bad. it will not feel as bitterly cold. saturday is when the storm system starts to approach. we will have clouds increasing from the south to the north.
