now, wmur news 9 at noon continues. erin: a clerk who was slashed with a knife during a robbery is recovering at home today. good afternoon. i' m erin fehlau. police have released some surveillance pictures in hopes that someone will recognize the suspect invovled in the theft and assault in downtown concord yesterday afternoon. wmur' s ray brewer is live outside the store, where he spoke to the victim' s son. ray: the clerk' s son says his dad is recovering at home, that he was a little shaken up by the attack but he is expected to be fine. this surveillance photo shows the man who robbed the concord mart convenience store, slashing the clerk with a knife, according to concord police. police say as the robber entered the store he threatened the clerk. >> he made a comment to the clerk something to the effect of " do you want to die?" or " if you don' t give me the money you' re going to die." ray: this was about 2:30 sunday afternoon. police say except for the clerk and the robber the store at 242 north main street was empty. it was while the robber was

struggle began. >> the suspect began taking money out of the register and the clerk tried to defend himself or fend off the suspect with a stick and during the struggle the clerk' s hand was lacerated by the suspect' s knife. ray: the suspect then left the store and was last seen running west on franklin street. >> he' s described as a male, possibly in his 40's, we' re not certain. there appears to be some gray facial hair. he' s wearing a dark hooded jacket. ray: police aren' t sure if the suspect is from concord, but because he ran away and there' s no evidence that a car was used, they think he might live in the area. police say they are checking with surrounding towns to see if there have been any similar robberies, but they are also asking anyone who may have seen the suspect in concord to give them a call. reporting live, ray brewer, wmur news 9.

route 124 is closed between new ipswich center and 123 after a propane truck rolled over. firefighters from new hampshire and massachusetts are responding to the scene. a woman is accused of taking money meant for a merrimack senior citizens group and pocketing the money. merrimack police have charged 47-year-old joanne diaz with theft by unauthorized taking. police say she volunteered to make phone calls for donations to the club' s yearly fundraiser. that' s when she cashed one of the checks and kept the money. manchester police arrest a man for his alleged involvement in a hit and run, and find even more. police say 29-year-old jason deluca allegedly hit a jeep with his honda accord friday evening and left the scene. police caught up with him a short time later and discovered deluca also had several grams of heroin on him, along with dozens of pills, a scale and packaging material. he faces several charges.

meteorologist kevin skarupa is here to tell us if we can expect any snow in the coming week. kevin: as you go through a winter season, there will always be weaker systems. that pretty much is our week. still a lot of lingering clouds. from the foothills south, nothing but sunshine. we will eventually go partly cloudy later tonight. we started off in the teens and 20' s. we are in the upper 20' s. even warmer air will make its way towards us. looking ahead, we eventually see milder temperatures starting tomorrow. we will have all the details with futurecast coming up in just a few minutes. erin: while we didn' t see any snow from the storm here, we are still feeling the ripple effects from it this afternoon.

erin: turning now to the latest on the toxic water crisis in flint, michigan. a bottled water company owned in part by sean diddy combs and boston' s mark wahlberg is pledging to donate 1 million bottles of water to impacted residents. aqua-hydrate says it' s sending 5,000 cases of water to flint and will continue to provide bottles to residents until the city' s water problems are solved. the water is expected to be delivered wednesday. right now, a massive manhunt is underway in california for 3 inmates who escaped a maximum security jail. officials say the inmates managed to cut through steel bars in their cells before sneaking through plumbing tunnels and onto the roof before rappelling to the ground. authorities say the escapees are considered very dangerous and they may be armed. >> we are in a position when we absolutely need the public' s help. there are people out there who know who these people are, may have seen them. erin: authorities are now offering a $50,000 reward for

the inmates are charged with murder, attempted murder and kidnapping. a japanese rocket maker says a large piece of metal that washed up on a beach in thailand is likely part of a rocket launched by japan and not a missing malaysian plane. the discovery of the metal sparked speculation that it might be from malaysia airlines flight 370, which disappeared almost two years ago. experts say based on photos, the metal piece is highly likely to be part of a japanese rocket that was launched from southern japan. japanese auto parts maker takata is facing more trouble. a tenth death has been linked to the company' s faulty airbags. as a result, u.s. regulators have added five million more cars to the 19 million vehicles already under recall. takata shares plummeted 11% today at the news. the company released a statement offering condolences to the victim' s family. takata faces multiple private legal actions, millions of dollars in fines and a u.s. justice department investigation. we had all that snow. that didn' t hit us over the weekend.
