now, wmur news 9 at noon continues. erin: a clerk who was slashed with a knife during a robbery is recovering at home today. good afternoon. i' m erin fehlau. police have released some surveillance pictures in hopes that someone will recognize the suspect invovled in the theft and assault in downtown concord yesterday afternoon. wmur' s ray brewer is live outside the store, where he spoke to the victim' s son. ray: the clerk' s son says his dad is recovering at home, that he was a little shaken up by the attack but he is expected to be fine. this surveillance photo shows the man who robbed the concord mart convenience store, slashing the clerk with a knife, according to concord police. police say as the robber entered the store he threatened the clerk. >> he made a comment to the clerk something to the effect of " do you want to die?" or " if you don' t give me the money you' re going to die." ray: this was about 2:30 sunday afternoon. police say except for the clerk and the robber the store at 242 north main street was empty. it was while the robber was

struggle began. >> the suspect began taking money out of the register and the clerk tried to defend himself or fend off the suspect with a stick and during the struggle the clerk' s hand was lacerated by the suspect' s knife. ray: the suspect then left the store and was last seen running west on franklin street. >> he' s described as a male, possibly in his 40's, we' re not certain. there appears to be some gray facial hair. he' s wearing a dark hooded jacket. ray: police aren' t sure if the suspect is from concord, but because he ran away and there' s no evidence that a car was used, they think he might live in the area. police say they are checking with surrounding towns to see if there have been any similar robberies, but they are also asking anyone who may have seen the suspect in concord to give them a call. reporting live, ray brewer, wmur news 9.

route 124 is closed between new ipswich center and 123 after a propane truck rolled over. firefighters from new hampshire and massachusetts are responding to the scene. a woman is accused of taking money meant for a merrimack senior citizens group and pocketing the money. merrimack police have charged 47-year-old joanne diaz with theft by unauthorized taking. police say she volunteered to make phone calls for donations to the club' s yearly fundraiser. that' s when she cashed one of the checks and kept the money. manchester police arrest a man for his alleged involvement in a hit and run, and find even more. police say 29-year-old jason deluca allegedly hit a jeep with his honda accord friday evening and left the scene. police caught up with him a short time later and discovered deluca also had several grams of heroin on him, along with dozens of pills, a scale and packaging material. he faces several charges.
