erin: dozens of events are planned each day between now and tuesday. we start with ray brewer live in derry bang. -- derry. ray: originally, this town hall at the opera house in derry was planned to include hillary clinton, bernie sanders, and martin o' malley, but the former maryland governor suspended his campaign after the event -- poor showing in iowa. even though clinton is claiming a narrow victory in iowa, sanders says he is not accepting defeat, indicating that some of the caucus votes may be up for reconsideration. the polls in new hampshire show sanders with a double-digit lead. >> it shows that working-class

right now, they are calling it an untimely death and they have not identified the person who died. the man who was hospitalized after an assault in rochester over the weekend has died. 44-year-old james unfonak of rochester was hurt in a fight in a parking lot of gary' s sports bar and restaurant early sunday morning. he died at the hospital. sean: lawyers for a merrimack man accused of killing his wife are trying to get statements he made to police thrown out. 63-year-old joseph lawrence is charged with second-degree murder in connection with the death of his wife last april. his lawyers claim that his statements to police were not voluntary because of his mental state after the shooting. prosecutors say he was emotional, but also consumed by

said he admitted to intentionally shooting his wife. erin: firefighters raced over the border to battle a fire in for hot -- vermont. a man told firefighters that the flames started in his kitchen. he suffered burns to his arms trying to put that fire out himself. the fire finally spread to the attic and the roof and firefighters spent the night keeping an eye on hotspots. this should be the final case for david sweat -- prosecutors said they will not pursue any charges related to burglaries related to the escape. sean: roller derby is very popular, but it turns out it is

erin: with the warm weather, many maple syrup producers say the sap is already starting to flow in some areas. they typically don' t start tapping trees until mid february and they are holding off for now because they are unsure about the weather and they don' t know how good the season is going to be. the 21st annual maple weekend is scheduled for march 19 and 20th, allowing you to check out local sugar shacks and the sugaring process. getting stuck at the airport can be frustrating and exhausting. it is soon going to be easier in portland, oregon. the airport is building a vintage-style movie theater to show mostly short films by local filmmakers to help passengers pass the time. it is set to open this summer. there is a similar theater at the airport in minneapolis, st. paul. sean: i suspect "snakes on a

[laughter] kevin: the clouds continued to race in. a little bit of light snow in far northern areas of the state. assuming the precipitation runs in pre-9:00 a.m., there is the chance of a little bit of light snow in the north country or a wintry mix elsewhere. 95% of what we see today, all the way up to the foothills, is going to be in the form of rainfall. it is going to be heavy at times. back out to our west. we are looking at over an inch of rainfall is a possibility out of this.

looking to reclaim his momentum in new hampshire. he picked up the endorsement of scott brown last night. john kasich held a townhall meeting last night in plymouth. he said if he does well in new hampshire, he will keep moving forward. if he does not come he will be going home. new jersey governor chris christie held five events yesterday, including a townhall meeting in derry. he plans to pull townhall' s in lebanon, bow, and milford. marco, jeb bush, carly fiorina, and jim gilmore will also be on the campaign trail. sean: president obama is proposing $1.1 billion in new funding to address the heroin and opioid epidemic. senator jeanne shaheen is among a bipartisan group pushing for

the homeowner' s foot slipped off his gas pedal, sending his car into the gas meter. soon after, the house was destroyed in an explosion. sean: a new study shows that eating a moderate amount of seafood could help ward off alzheimer' s disease. researchers recruited older people living in public housing and retirement community for their study. the participants agreed to keep track of their diet and then donate their brains after they died. researchers found that participants who ate seafood once a week at lest plaque and tangles associated with alzheimer' s disease. erin: the all-star is over for the boston bruins. they skated at home last night with the toronto maple leafs. brad marsh and scored the only goal. the maple leafs tied it in the second.

it does look like a solid 80-90% of what we see will be rainfall today. cooler air eventually wins out tomorrow. a little bit of light snow for the north country early this morning. we will start to see light showers pop up and then we go over to a wintry mix and then over to rain. rain could be heavy at times with locally over an inch of rain fall a possibility. once this shouts to our east, until sometime later tomorrow evening. s again. any precipitation between now and 8:00 confined to the northern half of the state. eventually, we are talking midmorning arrival for western and central areas of the state

a wintry mix. with winds picking up out of the southeast, it does look like anything we see from this will be in the form of rain after a brief mix initially. cool enough that we may see something beside rain initially as this moves in. it should be quickly won over to rainfall. it may take several hours up north before going to rain, heavy at times, later this afternoon. high temperatures today, these readings are likely by 7:00 or 8:00 tonight. we remain mild later on tonight. the rainfall starts to move away after the evening commute, which likely will be a slow go for a lot of folks. tomorrow, temperatures 40' s to lower 50' s in the afternoon before the cooler air arrives
