once again the change over has begin. that's going to impact the morning commute especially in some of the other areas closer to manchester and concord where it has been snowing a little bit more. they are expecting more snow also as you head to the boston area. you are going to want to factor that in. reporting live in epping, ray brewer, wmur news 9. erin: all right. some big clumps falling out there. it is national kevin: third straight february 5th it is snowing hard. erin: get some con confetti. kevin: woe don't need it. walk out. erin: that's what i'm saying natural. kevin: along with that, it has been transitions over to snow. itself. you are still a little bit of light rain at this point. look for a switch over to some light snow.

with a light coating to a half an inch of snow. up in central and northern areas of the state just truly starting to see the light snow develop. you'll notice it is mainly rainfall farther to the south and east. any sort of rainfall that is leftover with the rain dropping closer should be giving way as temperatures continue to cool. the cooler air in the mid levels come down with the precipitation and change over any rain drops to snowflakes. that's what has been happening now. it is all snow. it will be wet with temperatures in the upper 20's to mid 30's. snowfall rates could be an inch per hour at times for areas of south eastern parts of the state. beyond that the farther west you go and the farther north you go, we're looking at a much lighter version of the system with a light coating to a few inches of accumulation at best. the snow hasn't gotten going yet. coating. the heaviest portion will be closer to the center of circulation

that means the most focused snow could give you anywhere between 4:00 to 7:00 inches of snow. low to mid 30's will be the temperatures when it falls. you'll notice a certain back edge by 11:00. that continues to go from of upper valley. that slides quickly to the east by 2:00. by 3:00 or 4:00, we're looking at a brightening sky across the area. the travel problems that we'll have out there in areas won't be as prevalent by the time we get toward the afternoon. from there, partial sunshine for both days over the weekend. could be a couple of snow showers late saturday or early sunday up in the north country. maybe a flurry elsewhere. that's it through monday as it stands now. all eyes to the west for the next system possible situation which is centered toward tuesday. if anything, the trends have been to pull back and move that system a little farther to the south which would leave

snow snowfall. things change as you get closer. looking at a general three to five inches with less than three inches in the north western half of the state. there could be a couple of spots, even some spots that haven't changed over to snow yet that may have the potential with the most out of this. from there, we're looking at the chance of snow showers on sunday. then the colder air comes back in. this more like winter as we get in to the next seven days. we're looking at snow possible and again the keyword there for tuesday is possible. it may just be some light snow and flurry activity moving through for the primary day and getting colder for the second half of next week. we're going to earn the rest of the winter. this is the pattern. sean: a lot of people saying i haven't seen anything else.

snow gets heavier and it starts to accumulate the liquid that's been melting even if they've been treated may start to form in to a glaze of ice. this is all stuff in science of the roadways type situation that you have to bear in mind if you are going to be traveling any length of distance across the state this morning. temperatures later on by 2:00 or 3:00 essentially near the freezing mark. the snow heaviest late morning and then starting to taper off from west to east rather rapidly. some breaks of sun by late in the day for western areas of the state. falling in to the teens and 20's later on tonight. partly sunny skies. there may be a couple of snow showers saturday night or early sunday. may be a flurry around for southern areas. that will be the leading edge of colder air that starts to make its way back in. that will be in place for the next possible system which is centered around tuesday. tale still to be told on that. a general three to five inches of snow for the south eastern half of the state. there may be just a
