the attorney general's office is now investigating how 51-year-old joanne boucher was killed earlier this week. cherise leclerc live with the very latest in the case. reporter: shelley, investigators have been at that crime scene since this homicide happened, taking evidence from inside the house as well as the backyard. and neighbors are desperate for answers. >> i think that's what hits me the most, is i saw her sunday morning, and she was fine, doing her normal thing, nothing out of place. reporter: it was the last time hannah joanne boucher, known in the area of caramel drive as being loving and nurturing, especially towards animals, was found dead inside her home monday. it's all starting to sink in for people who knew her. >> it hasn't even fully hit me yet. it just seems unreal for the most part. reporter: the attorney general's office released more information thursday. the suspicious death earlier this week, now deemed a homicide. neighbors like goodwin came home

>> i came home and saw police cars. i just thought there was like a fight or something, because she had someone staying with her, and sometimes they fought. so i just thought it was a noise complaint. i didn't think it would be this at all. reporter: she says a man was living with boucher at the time of her death but authorities have not commented on that. crime scene investigators were at the home, collecting evidence from inside and the backyard, where attention was also paid to a couple of char marks. massachusetts. and many friends wondering what would have happened. >> and it was just a comforting presence to have her over there. so it's really weird and scary that she's just not there anymore. reporter: and authorities say they will not release the cause of death, as they are still investigating. no word on whether they have a suspect or any leads as to who may have done this. live in the studio, i'm cherise leclerc, wmur news 9. >> more granite staters are now

under an extreme drought warning. and tougher water restrictions. the city council has approved a complete ban on watering of the lawn. hand watering of vegetables and perennials is allowed if it doesn't just affect the homeowners. parks and two golf courses on city water cannot use irrigation systems. >> nothing for the parks. the golf courses can do tees and greens so they don't los but nothing -- no fairways, no rough. >> portsmouth expects the restrictions will remain in place for the rest of the season. right now, fog making the visibility quite low. take a look right now at hampden beach. look where the fog is pretty heavy. some showers are now moving through parts of the state. let's go to mike. he's here with that. >> we really could use the rain as we are in that extreme drought in parts of southeastern new hampshire.

bright red indicating extreme drought. that's where the rainfall deficit is between 30% and 50% below the average since the 1st of the year. that means eight to as much as 14 inches below normal. then it just tapers off to just a normally dry through parts of the white mountains. the rainfall deficit, close to 8.87 inches or right at it, since the first of the year. that means we're only at the normal rainfall that we normally get. and in manchester, we have received just about half of what we normally get. we could use the rain. there are showers on doppler radar. we could get an additional shower here or there, between now and the morning commute tomorrow. then big changes for the rest of friday and into the weekend. we'll look at all that and possibly more rain chances coming up. >> thank you. on to commitment 2016 coverage now. we are less than one week away

camera in a massachusetts restaurant. joseph hennessey was convicted of four counts of videotaping a person in a state of nudity. police say hennessey placed a camera in a flower pot inside the women's bathroom, the kickstand caf?, in arlington, massachusetts, back in 2014. hennessey will be sentenced on september 26. >> one of the nation's largest banks will have to pay millions to its customers in a record fine. the consumer financial protectiur for secretly opening unauthorized credit cards and deposit accounts and charging customers, without the injuries knowing. more than 5,000 wells fargo employees have been fired. the bureau says more than two million savings and credit accounts were opened illegally. >> it is outrageous for a bank to use a customer's personal,

and when i came out, she was gone. reporter: that was three years ago. levesque reported the disappearance to the humane society as soon as she disappeared but didn't hear a word. >> i had her microchipped when i adopted her and i was just hoping that someone would bring her in and no one did, until yesterday. reporter: the humane society's mary lee gorham says taz was dropped off this week by a concerned c the little dog wondering around laconia by itself. gorham says taz was scand and her microchip directed them to the dog's proper owner. >> a microchip is the best way that we know that dog or cat belongs to you. they're registered through a national database and we have a company called 24 hour pet watch. reporter: levesque says it was

they show the clouds parting, midday, early afternoon. around 2 or 3, lots of sun. then the fog started in the evening. watch out for that, especially along the coast and in parts of northern new hampshire. could be dense fog as you head out in the next several hours, even the early part of the morning commute. 84 degrees. the record of 96. doppler radar, it's not much but it's better than nothing. here we go working through anywhere in the lakes region down to the merrimack valley, stretching towards the coast. not everyone is seeing those raindrops. about a 1/10 of an inch, a little more in nashua. other spots getting less than that. not going to help the drought but certainly better than nothing. there are more showers back in central parts of new york state. these may hold together and move through parts of new hampshire, especially lakes region during

the morning. then we'll see cloudy skies to start, before the sun goes to work and jacks those temperatures up in a big way. it's a warm evening, 70's across the board. anywhere west of the coast, right near the shore, in the mid- to upper 60's. even atop mount washington, close to 60 degrees at the 11:00 reading. and early september, quite odd. a lot of moisture building from the west. the dew points are up nearl range before dipping with the west-northwest wind by tomorrow afternoon. tonight, not going to cool off. we stay in the 60's to around 70. that means a warm start to the day tomorrow. temperatures hit near 90 in parts of southern new hampshire, slightly lower temperatures build in for the weekend. if we get more of a cloud cover, we'll be in the upper 70's. a little bit more partial sun, we'll be in the lower 80's. it's a front, sitting in the

stretching back towards the mississippi valley and up towards the front that is rolling through our neck of the woods right now. here's a look at the timeline. overnight tonight, a lot of low clouds, patchy fog. then we're going to see the sunshine developing. we make a run in the upper 70's far north but look at southern new hampshire, from concord points south, up near 90, and even with an offshore breeze approaching 90 at the coastline. fair skies tomorrow night. 70's around 80, future cast, i think, co overdoing the rainfall but there are scattered showers on saturday. as for sunday, early morning shower. then becoming partly sunny. the highs tomorrow, 80's to around 90. great weather for the seafood festival. hot. and then lower temperatures on saturday. slightly warmer again on sunday. and that's because we'll have an offshore breeze once again.
