prompted the shooting. that part of the investigation could take sometime. tracy says her son loved animals and racing, he loved spending time with his family, especially his nieces and nephews. she said lafont had called 911 before in a cry for help. >> i don't know how many officers were there. any other times when i was called, there was at least two officers there. i can't imagine there restrain him. ray: she says she wants to know why this incident ended with her son dead. they say it is unclear when details of the shooting will be release. of it is not also clear if any action will be taken against the officer involved. in the studio, ray brewer. ray: thanks. a child is being streeted at a boston hospital after being hit by a car in salem. the child was struck around 6:30 last night.

struck or what type of injuries they suffered. police say no charges have been filed. they expect to release more information later today. erin: fresh off of the first presidential debate on monday, hillary clinton is back on the campaign trail and coming here to new hampshire today. the democratic nominee has a campaign rally scheduled for 2:15 this afternoon at the u.n.h. field house. she will be joined by bernie sanders to focus on college doors for the event open at 12:15. republican nominee, donald trump, will be back in the granite state tomorrow. he has a rally scheduled at the new hampshire sports complex in bedford. doors open at noon on thursday. the rally starts at 3:00. abc's ray raimundi is following both campaigns for us this morning. reporter: the aftershocks of the presidential debate continue. both candidates hitting

his funeral is set for friday. sean: two people from massachusetts are accused of stealing apples from a orchard. they paid for $20. then they filled a baby stroller, diaper bag, and backpack with more fruit. in all, they stole about $100 worth of apples. a nashua man is facing charges in connection with a shooting and stabbing in july. 28-year-old travis martein is charged criminal weapon and deadly threatening and falsifying evidence. travis martein pulled out a gun in the fight. he stabbed another man in the neck and ran off. erin: a former nashua high school teacher accused of sending nude pictures to students is facing a new charge this morning. bruce lanctot has been indicted for falsifying physical evidence. according to court paperwork, he didn't

sean: all right. going to feel like fall. the manchester school district has hired a new superintendent. erin: the school board members say he grew up in poverty and didn't learn english until his late teens. he sent the last four years as a school superintendent in rochester, new york, where he created an impressive resum?. >> it is no secret that manchester has some issues and struggles. mr. vargas' records, the budget was in they had a lot of difficult issues. he turned the school district around. we're hoping he can turn manchester around. erin: vargas will make an annual salary of $165 and start on november 1st. sean: the u.n.h. community is on alert after some concerning fliers promoting a dating web site started popping up.

sean: police have searched the sea. they found 22-year-old nathan carman. his mother is presumed dead. nathan was found by a chinese freighter on sunday. >> i feel healthy. i feel healthy. emotionally, i've been through a huge amount. i would like to thank the public for their prayers and for their concern for both my mother and for myself. sean: family members say carman has as burger. he and his mother would take regular fisher trips. his a suspect in the unsolved murder of his grandfather in 2013. no arrests have been made. a driver in connection with a deadly

he was driving a jeep used for the hayride when it crashed back in 2014, killing one person and injuries 20 others. they tried to argue he knew the brakes on the jeep were faulty. erin: more than 90% of people live in areas with obsessive air pollution. it focused on outdoor air pollution. it can tribute to health problems like stroke, heart disease, and young cancer. the report says the pollution is the worst in southeast asia and the eastern mediterranean and western pa pacific. sean: you may want to rethink the menu. tyson's food is recalling 130,000 pounds after some customers reported finding hard, white plastic in the chicken. it affects five pound

panko chicken nuclear et. they have a use by date of july 17, 2017. ben & jerries is planning a $30,000 expansion. it will add nearly 70 jobs and an extra 30,000 square feet of buildings along with more parking and a new sidewalk. erin: work is underway on the $50 million development project. crews broke ground yesterda condominiums. they are scheduled to be opened by the end of next year. some have been sold. the plans also include building a new lodge at the resort. fall has officially arrived in new hampshire. state tourist officials are expecting a banner season. in fact, nine and a half million people are expected to visit the granite state to enjoy the beautiful weather and foilage while spending $1.4. both of those numbers are up over a year ago.

day closer to the shoreline. inland sections lower 60's and sunshine into the afternoon. a lot of moisture up and down the east coast. the closed low that's moving very lowly to the east will continue to start bringing moisture northward. while we get a little bit of a reprieve after drizzle to a dry afternoon with sunshine and fair skies tonight and partial sunshine tomorrow, better rain chances develop later this week. you could see the flow out of the northeast west with the thicker cloud cover and warmer temperatures. things turn right around through the afternoon. the coolest readings by later today where we have more clouds later on and a northeasterly wind. temperatures don't move up much today at the coast while inland sections even though you are starting off get warmer later on this afternoon. a little bit more sunshine there. and then fair skies later on this evening. really a minimal chance

chances are entered around friday into saturday. the weak area of high pressure is going to protect us for the most part tomorrow. we can't rule out the isolated shower. the better chances will be with scattered showers pushing in from the south. i don't think the weekend looks like a wash out. we're not going to be able to reduce out the chance of showers either day. then all eyes on a developing tropical system which may approach the u.s. sometime during the middle of next week. temperur we'll climb into the upper 50's to lower 60's. a little bit of sunshine around this afternoon. more in the way of stubborn clouds closer to the shoreline. you'll notice the average highs. we're well shy of that as we extend into the month of october before getting back near 70 degrees. probably the best rain chances will be entered around friday night and saturday. no washouts expected in most locations any of

resolution. but as in any case, there's a lot of moving parts. ray: the friends and familily say they are planning a rally. it is expected to start at 4:00. the candle light vigil set to begin at 6:00. there's no word on the status of the officer who shot lafont. the ag's office says it is still early in the investigation. it is unclear when the details of the deadly encounter will be released. in the studio, ray brewer, erin: all right. thank you. new on "daybreak," two people are facing the charges in connection with an animal cruelty case out of dalton. jonathan brooks and stephanie both of whitefield turned themselves in on monday. they each are charged with four counts of animal cruelty. the investigation started back in august when someone reported that a group of horses were being neglected. the owner surrendered ten of 17 horses. they are scheduled to be

sean: also think this morning, a massachusetts woman is accused of stealing thousands of dollars worth of jewelry in nashua. 42-year-old shannon donovan stole $3,700 from the kohls. she committed the same crime at several other kohl's stores in massachusetts. she's now charged with felony theft. erin: the d.o.t. is laying out plans for a big change to 4a will be built between 4 in derry and 5 in londonderry, not before residents help to choose the path. they were invited to go over the options last night. each town is contributing $5 billion to the cost of the project. the new exhibit is designed to alleviate traffic on route 102. >> i think it would be great for traffic release and business development. southern new hampshire continues to grow. >> i think with the stronger economic

that should give way to partial sunshine. western and northern areas a good deal of sunshine into the afternoon. the close you are get into south eastern new hampshire, the clouds maybe a little bit more stubborn. the highs today likely at the coast only in the upper 50's. which is where you are currently. we're expecting the northeast wind to go at times today over 15-25 miles an hour. this is the beginning of a cooler pattern that lasts through the weekend. shower chances start friday and through the weekend. it came to a screeching halt. eventually today the sun as it comes up should start to eat away at a little bit of the cloudiness through the morning eventually going to partial sunshine. at play back to the west area of low pressure slow moving. that means the pattern that we're in probably not going anywhere any time soon. as the inches closer, we'll start dragging up some moisture and better

we get later friday and into the weekend. for the time being, patchy drizzle. temperatures starting off in the mid to upper 50's. from manchester to the shoreline. we're not going to see much of the move upward here because of the northeast wind and lingering clouds. ironically where temperatures are cooler this morning lower 50's out along the connecticut river and 40's up north, you stand the best chance of getting back in the lower 60's just due to the function of more sunshine into the afternoon. we'll look f wind as well. all things looking better even though you are starting off cooler in western and northern areas. at the coastline, we're talking the drizzle out there in some spot this is morning. highs only in the upper 50's later on this afternoon. i think with fair skies tonight, temperatures will inch back. with partial sunshine tomorrow, we'll still in the upper range of the 50's to lower half of the 60's. maybe as high as 65 in a couple of spots. coolest readings at the

increase on thursday evening. by the time we got to friday, scattered showers are going to be possible. it is centered on the weekend. it doesn't look like an all weekend rain. the best chances of showers look to be on saturday. i don't think sunday is necessarily the more reliable day. i think both days will be fairly similar as far as the chances of showers. a little bit of drizzle in spots. we get into our some sunshine into the afternoon. northeast wind will be more noticeable at the shoreline. we drop from the mid 40's to mid 50's. your extended forecast shows the cooler than average temperatures for this time of year lasting through the weekend. the better chances of some scattered shower activity is going to really be entered around friday into saturday. although we're going to still run the risk of a shower on sunday and maybe a linger shower as the low pulls away on monday where temperatures will start getting back near 70 degrees. until then though, we could use the rain. there's not going to be a lot of it, at least
