morning. a lot of fog. josh: the fog is real thick. you drive a mile or two, there will be nothing. it is going to go back and forth through the morning hours. that burns off and we'll see a mixture of clouds and sunny breaks at times as well. there's manchester. it is 5137 we're in the 50 to 55 range pretty much everywhere around the granite state this morning as we start off with temperatures similar to where they've been for what seems like days all weekend long. look at the visibility. it visibility as well as the fog is thickening up there as well. the system off to the west could bring us a couple of scattered showers this morning. until then it is clouds, breaks of sun, and fog. warmer temperatures. mostly in the 60's. it is not out of the question that a spot or two hits 70 degrees. for a look at the morning drive here in the granite state, we're joined live by wzid's deb davidson. it is monday morning. how are we doing out there? deb: we're not doing too bad.

things down from concord to the hooksett tolls and from manchester to the state line. we're seeing slower moving volume. things are looking okay along the seacoast. from the traffic network, i'm deb davidson for 95.7 wzid. sean: we start with that breaking news from the seacoast. one person is dead after an early morning fire in seabrook. erin: ray brewer live near the scene. ray: at this point in time the victim's identity is not being released. firefighters have cleared the scene here in seabrook. it was around quarter to 1:00 this morning when the seabrook fire chief says they responded to a fire at an apartment complex at 689 lafayette road in seabrook. when this i arrived, most of the people in the 12-unit apartment

they discovered the deceased in a first floor apartment. it was in that apartment where the fire started that the chief said they had thick black smoke upon arrival. the damage was con confined to the one apartment. it took them a half an hour to put the fire out. no firefighters were injured. as far as how the fire started, that remains under investigation. the state fire marshal assisting in the investigation. as far as the tenants staying at hotels and motels in the area. the chief anticipated they should be allowed back in the building later today. live in seabrook, ray brewer, wmur news 9. erin: all right. thank you. in dover, firefighters are starting to clear the scene of a three-alarm fire in an apartment building on new rochester road. now when crews arrived at about 2:00, they found heavy fire. officials say there are more than a dozen units in the building. the good news is there are no reports of any

sean: investigators say a fire that destroyed a building at a former water park is suspicious. flames broke out late saturday night in the office building which had been closed and vacant since 2006. it took crews from three towns about two hours to get the fire under control. the building was destroyed and it partially collapsed. because the park has gotten overgrown, firefighters couldn't get their trucks to the building. news. >> the vegetation and the brush and trees were fairly wet. if it was still dry, like we had dry weather recently, we would have had a large spread of fire throughout the trees and brush. sean: the park sits on 13 acres of land and is for sale. they are fortunate that the flames didn't spread. now they are trying to figure out exactly how the fire start and if someone is responsible. erin: investigators now say a

for a fire that heavily damaged a dorm saturday morning. students had set the grill up on a flat section of rooftop outside of the window of morton hall and weren't watching it when the fire sparked. the school is no providing temporary housing for about 70 students. plans are being made to repair the dorm. the landmark manslaughter trial of a former landlord in maine gets underway today. gregory nisbet faces six in connection with a deadly fire in portland. the fire was sparked by smoking materials on a back porch, but there were multiple code violations and a lawsuit alleged that one exit was blocked. it was the deadliest fire in maine in 40 years. sean: a manchester man is wanted after he fired at a car yesterday morning. warrants have been issued for 18-year-old jacob cahill on charges of attempted first-degree assault and reckless conduct.

of this weekend. that's the beginning of change that is are beginning to move into the granite state. we start off with some thick fog in some locations and other spots no fog at all. just keep in mind as you drive around this morning, you may run into some of it. all right. let's talk about the temperatures the last few days have been quite a departure. after such a warm, hot summer and beginning of the wall, things have cooled off quite a bit. especially this weekend where we didn't get out of the0' today as we'll mostly be in the 60's. it is partly cloudy out there. if you don't have any fog, it is possible that you may be able to see the sky a little bit this morning. before this system to our west, see the spinning, and that's the upper level low that's been around all this weekend. that moves over us today. that will thicken up the clouds and bring the chance of scattered showers this afternoon. there's a chance -- especially areas farther inland.

we continue to follow that very closely. a major category 4 storm. there's been some weakening. it was a category 5 storm briefly friday night into saturday morning. winds of 155 miles per hour. down to about 130 right now. and it is headed for cuba, haiti, jamaica, and the bahamas. all of these islands. we'll be seeing it heading in their direction. there's a look at forecast track for the nati h eventually at the end of the week and into the early part of the weekend somewhere around. from this point on, that's where the confidence in the forecast goes way down. unsure of exactly where it will go. they continue to try to forecast. how do they do that? one of the ways is to fly the hurricane jets through it. that's the track and timing of the last flight that took place late last night into early this morning. they found winds of 124

the intersection of new zee land road. ray brewer live near the scene with the latest details. ray: you can see that apartment building behind me. from the outside it is difficult to tell there was a fire there. the fire chief there says it was around quarter to one this morning when they were called to 689 lafayette road for a reported fire. once they arrive, they found heavy, thick black smoke. it is a 12-unit building. the chief says of the residents were outside when they arrived. a search of the building revealed one person in that first floor apartment where the fire started. now no further information about the victims identify is being released at this time. the chief says it took about a half an hour to get the fire out. the damage was confined to the one apartment. the residents -- the other residents -- that is, staying at hotels and motels around the area.

the clouds above that fog are patchy. if you don't have fog where you are, there's a chance you can see the sky at the moment. the sun and clouds will go back and forth this morning in areas without the fog. the fog will table several more hours to burn off before it does. and then a system to our west will push on in. the system was over the great lakes this weekend. it is slowly heading in our direction. that will respread some clouds over us this afternoon and bring the chance of a couple of scattered showers inland locations, say west of i-93, for example, and a good barrier there to know where the best chances are. they are possible anywhere. now to hurricane matthew which we've been following so closely. we don't know exactly where it is going once it gets up closer to the united states. we've got a good, short term forecast for you here. the current can bees right now, top winds at 130 miles purr per hour.
