9:03 am
and he is -- we spoke for over an hour on education and he has such a great handle on it. he wants competitive schools, a lot of different things that are tear require riff i can. >> ryan: probably not a bad idea considering the debate audience they had last night. this is where carson is expected to formally endorse trump. it may come as a surprise for some. the two found common ground against ted cruz,. cruz's campaign is accuse accused of spreading false information about carson. we'll hear when carson speaks specifically what it was that drove him to support donald trump. there is a new poll want to show you showing that donald trump has a commanding lead in florida though not as big as we've seen in some polls.
9:04 am
ted cruz is at 19 and john kasich with ten per subject. ted cruz will be in central florida this morning. he is speaking at a rally at the faith assembly of god church on curry ford road, expected to be joined by carly fiorina after week. >> amy: last night the candidates took part in their final debate. >> ryan: it was a lot more civil than we've seen in the past couple debates. you could feel that from the start, the candidates remaining more focused on the issues than >> i would say this. we're all in this together. solutions. we're going to find the answers to things, and so far i cannot believe how civil it's been up here. >> when i travel abroad, when i meet with heads of states and foreign ministers they say over and over again it is hard to be friends with america. we can't count on america. america doesn't stand with us. and that is a disgrace. >> amy: on the democratic side of things bernie sanders and hillary clinton have now moved on from florida.
9:05 am
sander is is in north carolina after he crossed through central florida yesterday. clinton is in chicago this morning. she is rallying voters here in this video in tampa yesterday. right now clinton is leading sanders by more than double digits in theel agate couldn't. >> ryan: three separate motorcycle crashes as we head into the final weekend of bike week. >> amy: one of those crashes has turned deadly. luanne is joining us with the details. >> reporter: so many crashes overnight. just a sad morning on the roads. the first crash happened on i-4 at fairbanks avenue in winter park. troopers say a motorcyclist rear ended the stopped semi truck in the eastbound lanes. the biker was ejected and was pronounced dead on the scene. that crash remains under investigation. that crash happened near another deadly crash about a mile up the road on i-4, also in winter park. from our video you can see it appears the black car rear ended a jeep in the eastbound lanes. right now fhp is not releasing
9:06 am
died or what exactly caused that crash. let's take you to volucia county. that is where two motorcyclists are recovering in the hospital after two separate crashes there. the first happened on north nova road near international speedway boulevard. it appears the motorcycle and car crashed and then caught fire. there is no word on how the biker is doing this morning or if anyone else is hurt. then as that investigation was going on, there was another motorcycle crash a few miles away. this one also happened on international speedway boulevard. we were there at paramedics were treating that biker. no word on what caused that crash either. ryan, amy, back to you. >> amy: thanks. all new in our 9:00 hour an orlando man facing multiple charges after he was arrested for human trafficking. >> ryan: martin thomas facing one charge of human trafficking

you wouldn't waste money buying a snow blower in miami. so why waste your money on overpriced lunches? instead, for just three dollars at subway, you can get one of our best 6-inch subs, every day of the week. it's the three-dollar sub of the day. subway. fresh is what we do. >> ryan: breaking new, don't want just introduced ben carson. let's listen in right now. >> the whole process of getting
9:12 am
process was something that i never particularly intended to do, but you know, i listened to the people. and it was really all about the people and continues to be all about the people. you know, it's not about the republican party or the democratic party, it's about the people of america. and what i was -- have been seeing recently is political operatives and parties once again trying to assert themselves and trying to thwart the will of the people. i find that that is an extraordinarily dangerous place to be right now. and you know, i want the voice of the people to be heard. i want the political process to play out in the way that it should play out. and you know, i think the republican party particularly will be very wise not to adopt let's stop this guy and let's
9:13 am
rather start thinking about what are the things that are going to be helpful for america? right now, you know, we're in a process of going off the deep end. we're going off the cliff, through fiscal responsibility, hating each other, destroying ourselves, a house divided against itself cannot stand. we're failing to take a leadership position on the world stage. now, some people said why would you get behind a man like donald trump? i'll tell you why. first of all, i've come to know donald trump over the last few years. he's actually a very intelligent man who cares deeply about america. there are two different donald trumps. there is the one you see on the stage, and there is the one who is very cerebral, sits there and considers things very carefully.
9:14 am
conversation with him. and that's the donald trump that you're going to start seeing more and more of right now. and some people said but well, you know, he said terrible things about you. how can you support him? first of all we buried the hatchet. that was political stuff. and you know, that happens in american politics. the politics of personal destruction, all that, is not something that i particularly believe in or anything that i get involved in. but i do recognize that it is part of the process. we move on, because it's not about me. it's not about mr. trump. it's about america. and this is what we have to be thinking about. i have found in talking with him that, you know, there's a lot more alignment, philosophically and spiritually, than i ever thought that there was.
9:15 am
know, that actually surprised me more than anything, because i do recognize how a person's image can be greatly distorted, having been the victim of that. i probably understand it better than anybody. and i think as the american people who we are focusing on, as they begin to see the real individual there, and those who are helping that individual, i think we're going to be comforted as a nation. you know, we have to start working together. we cannot allow the agents of division to continue to separate us. as a nation our strength is our unity. and we -- we just have to sort of ignore those people who are always trying to stir up strife and i'm appealing to some degree
9:16 am
you know, you're part of america, too. and should be interested in strengthening our nation, not in creating divisions, not in creating conflicts all the time. if we start having that american attitude that american spirit that made us great, that took us to the penny call in no time at all believe me everybody will benefit from that. we're also talking about how can we make america a place that successful for everybody. you know, we have 330 million people. we're going to be competing with china with $1.4 billion. we have to develop all of our people. you know, the people who are the downtrodden in our society, we're not doing those people any favor. by patting them on the head and saying there, there, you poor little thing, i'm going to take care of all your needs. we need to be concentrating on mechanisms to allow those people to climb out of the state of
9:17 am
strength and fabric of this nation. that's what america is about. it's not about the dependency. it certainly isn't about socialism. you know, socialism is seen as the pancea by some who don't understand it. i think a lot of some -- >> ryan: dr. carson speaking. he tackles some of the issues that divided them in the past. the second candidate to endorse donald trump, with christie being the other. could be a possible vp candidate? dr. carson endorsing donald trump. amy. >> amy: thank you. on the health watch, more and more children are being diagnosed with adhd, but a new study says a lot of them don't actually have it. the study says that prescriptions for drugs like ritalin have actually doubled now over the past decade. in many cases it's because teachers compare the child's behavior to children who are
9:18 am
the study says the percentage of kids diagnosed depends on what month they were born in. kids turns out who were born in september were the least likely to be diagnosed while children born in august have the highest percentage. we all heard it is important to limit how much time your kids spend playing video games. new research shows that playing video games is actually good for some children. research published in the journal social psychiatry and psychiatric shows that playing video games can help kids do better in school or in social situations. a neurologist, is joining us to talk more about that. great to see you. >> great to see you. what types of video games are we talking about? i think that's really the key, isn't it? >> absolutely. first of all this was done in children age six to 11. and they were asked to play video games that they
9:19 am
of their age, number one. are they in the same room or through the class features which can be complicated for some of us, right? the second thing is when i looked further into the research skills. so maybe english, reading, math skills, driving. the key was that none of these games showed any violence. >> amy: okay. and that is huge, right? >> okay. so when we're talking about allowing them to play these video games, how do you go about finding the appropriate games to help your child? and two, how much time do you allow them to spend on this? >> it's an important question. so because we know that this helps brain development, because it helps children socialize in some of their cognitive skills, number one academy of pediatrics does not recommend any child under the age of five be in front of screen time. so elementary school. the right age. number two, remember video games should not replace homework. >> amy: right.
9:20 am
healthier for the brain. three, look for the stamps on the video games that are marked appropriately for age. and really a simple way if a game involves some kind of violence, shooting, all of that, this is not likely to help the cognitive development as much as the video games that are teaching skills around reading and writing and arithmetic. >> amy: it's about being smart about it. all right. thanks. how can our viewers find you? >> brooks: good morning, amy. good morning, everybody. good information there. partly cloudy skies, warm conditions outside. we can call it mid march morning right now. temperature wise, low to mid 70s already through most of central florida. it's going to be the another warm day. we have the winds coming off the atlantic. yesterday we had wind gusts close to 30 miles an hour. today we'll continue with the

we have to start being truthful with our country. like the question on islam. i'm answering the question. and i know the exact answer. i could have against given the answer to anderson cooper but there is a problem, and we've got to find out what the problem is. we have to solve the problem. you're not going to solve the problem unless you know there is a problem. i want to answer questions honestly and forthrightly, and even if i'm on a big stage with all of these tremendous numbers of cameras around i have to answer honestly. it's the only way we're going to solve the difficulties of our country. yes, go ahead. >> just along the same lines, so why are there two donald trumps? did you at some point make a conscious decision to be -- trump. but certainly you have -- look, all of this, and you have somebody else that sits and reads and thinks.
