at the weekend forecast. >> samantha: time is 6:01 on this friday morning. i hope that your day is off to a great start. morning commute looks dry, no problems there. midday commute also looks wonderful, and your evening commute. we give you the green light for that, too. i don't expect any rain out there today. temperatures are chilly, though. good morning to you in ashtabula. it's 42. that's actually considered average for this time of the year. so nothing out of the ordinary. it's been kind of chilly the last couple of days. 41 out in mansfield, good morning to you in new phil philly. in cleveland we're in the mid-40s. the sun doesn't come up now until almost 8:00 in the morning, so it will take a while for things to warm up. we'll get cooler before we warm up. we go 42 at 9:00 in the morning,
6:02 am
an afternoon high of 57. so a seasonable day, nothing unusual in our forecast today. tomorrow it's going to feel like spring. we'll talk about it coming up at 6:15. back to you all. >> tia: all right. 6:02 right now on your friday morning. we're looking at traffic. this is on 480 coming into -- actually, it's not. it's 77 coming into downtown. you can see them going away from downtown as well. you see right now a little traffic out there, but no real hang-ups to tell you about. of course, if anything changes we will be first to let you know. we're still 14 hours away from game three of the world series, but it appears indians manager terry francona made a huge decision. >> brian: it's a big one. multiple reports overnight say the indians will play carlos santana in left field. that's significant because santana normally plays first base, most of the time he's a designated hitter.
6:03 am
stadium, you play by their rules. in the national league there is no designated hitter. the pitchers actually bat for themselves. we explain this a little bit more in a bit. for the pitching match-up, the cowboy, the little cowboy josh tomlin is on the mound tonight for the tribe. tony zarrella is in chicago for us with a story about a essential fan in the stands for josh tonight. >> reporter: good morning from chicago where for the first time in 71 years the world series is here at game three tonight, indians and cubs. by now you may have heard the story of the cubs fan that dished out $64,000 for four tickets for tonight's game. 16 grand per ticket. for josh tomlin it's about another spectator, his father, jerry, the 57-year-old tomlin paralyzed from the waist down just two months ago following an illness. doctors aren't sure if he'll ever walk again. he was recently released from a rehabilitation center and he's
6:04 am
tomlin family ready to watch josh pitch tonight. he's been great, 2-0 in the playoffs and now he does it in front of his father. >> yeah, he's here. he'll be -- i don't know when he's flying out, but he should get here later tonight. it will be good to see him later tonight and have dinner with him and then get to work tomorrow. >> reporter: what's it mean for you just to have your dad here tomorrow night? >> it means a lot. he hasn't been to a quite a while, and it wasn't looking like he would get to come to a game at all. so to have him here and just to see him is the thing i'm most looking forward to, but the fact that we get to experience the world series together is pretty neat. >> reporter: tomlin is ready to go. who does francona sit in strategy at play now that they lost the dh. much more on that in a bit.
6:05 am
news." >> tia: this is really cool. indians fans making the trip to chicago for any of the next three days, the turnpike is trying to save green. check out the ohio turnpike tweet. if you have an ez pass tolls are 33% off. this lasts throughout the entire series. this morning we already have a crew in chicago. you heard from tony zarrella, and now you're going to hear from our very own shelby miller who's there. >> brian: in the first two games, there are a lot of peopleg- from both cities who are very passionate about this, and shelby miller is in chicago for us live with more on that. good morning, shelby. >> reporter: hey, good morning. yeah, it's understandable why everybody is so passionate about the game tonight, but i will say walking around here last night in front of wrigley, we were a little outnumbered or a lot outnumbered. there were cubs fans everywhere, but you have to expect that.
6:06 am
group of indians fans. one kid was wearing an indians jersey last night. i chased them down. they have tickets to both tonight's game and tomorrow night's game. can you imagine that? inside wrigley for that game. across the street from wrigley, there was a group of cubs fans all lined up just hoping to somehow get inside tonight's game. they were out there all day yesterday, overnight. they're out there again this morning. i want you to listen to what that family said, that indians family how excited they are to be here to watch the indians play in chicago. >> i've never been inside. it's always been a plan of ours to go to wrigley, even just to check it out. to be there for the world series is unbelievable. >> reporter: and to have the indians here against the cubs. >> it is awesome. i love seeing all the mix of different shirts, indians and cubs all around the city. >> reporter: yeah. you certainly do see that. i'm assuming tonight there will
6:07 am
here than there were last night, too. i don't know if you have heard of von's pub, it's not too far from him. that's a really big cleveland hangout spot. we went down there to check it out, and there was one indians fan there who we spoke to that lives in chicago but he's a die-hard cleveland fan. he's coming up in the next half hour. right now the atmosphere for being this early in the morning is pretty good around here. still looking for that first indians fan this morning, though. live in chic "cleveland 19 news." >> tia: all right, shelby. a 7-year-old cubs fan is at the game tonight, and he has the indians to thank for that. this is littlejohny wallik was at game one but was hit in the head by the elbow of a cheering indians fan. keep in mind, he's actually a cubs fan. he suffer aid concussion and missed the rest of the entire game. when the indians found out what happened, they hooked him up with a pair of tickets for
6:08 am
now i feel fine. i'm happy because i'm going to get to go to the world series. >> tia: yeah. some people never get to go. okay. i like his little logos he has going on there. he has the cubs and indians. johnny made a thank you sign for our team. no word on if johnny and his dad are having trouble deciding who to root for now tonight. i like that story. >> brian: root for your team, kid. i'm glad he's going to the game. >> tia: indians are a gre organization. i'm not surprised they would do that. a lot are rooting for the tribe at progressive field tonight. for 5 bucks you can get into progressive for a game three watch party right here in the cle. >> brian: cleveland fans love these. we're live at both ballparks this morning. sia nyorkor is getting answers about tonight's watch party. hey, sia. >> sia: good morning, brian and tia. that's okay. we can't all go to chicago, but

national league ballpark, national league rules. in the american league, pitchers do not hit. a designated hitter, the dh takes their place. in the indians case that dh for the most part has been carlos santana. in the national league there's no designated hitter, and that means as the indians going to chicago, the pitchers will hit. does that mean it's as simple as taking carlos santana out of the line-up? no. santana is one of the tribe's he hit .259 and hit 34 home runs and drove in 87. santana could play first base, but that would mean sitting down mike napoli. that won't happen. napoli also hit 34 home runs and drove in 101 rbis. >> he's going to try to find a way to get us both in there. coming to a national league park is kind of tough. you're limited to trying to get, you know, your regular line-up out there.

6:35 am
rally field tonight because of the ticket prices. you saw a lot of cubs fans at progressive field in games one and two. >> tia: don't be fooled. there are plenty of cleveland fans that made the trip to chicago or perhaps they're transplants there. shelby miller is live outside of wrigley field this morning. shelby, you found plenty of cleveland pride right in the windy city. >> reporter: you know, we did have to look a little bit to come across those fans last night, but this place called von's pub. it's decked out with everything cleveland. not just the indians, the browns, ohio state. a lot of stuff going on there. that's where we found one fan from the cleveland area but now he actually lives here in chicago. he said tonight expect that bar just to be packed with people who are rooting for the indians tonight. unfortunately, when i've been out here this morning, the red coat that i am wearing is about
