sabrina ahmed. sabrina: asking for help the search for a missing teen... sabrina: the 15-year-old missing for five days... pella police are may help find mallory lanser. the pella teenager has connections in polk, jasper, poweshiek, mahaska and marion counties. if you know where she is or have information that could help, contact pella police or your department. sabrina: more details town dealing with a mass resignation of police officers... sabrina: melcher-dallas leaders have formed a task force to figure out how the city will provide law enforcement for residents. four of the six officer for the town resigned this week...with the marion county sheriff's office providing temporary relief. but because of an iowa law, the city must either fofo its own department or sign a protection contract with the county. marion county already has a similar partnership with another small town, and county officials to handle the

jason sandholdt, marion county sheriff:"we'd be more than happy to help them out through a contract law enforcement side of things. and it's something that we can offer 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year coverage to provide that law enforcement service." sabrina: a typical law enforcement contract with the county can cost about a quarter of a million dollars. melcher-dallas leaders say they'd like to see a preliminary plan in place by the next council meeting. sabrina: after 16 years, iowa's state medical examiner will be leaving her position.. doctor julia goodin began her duties as iowa's chief state medical examiner in 19- 99... during her tenure, the medical examiner's office obtained national accreditation for the first time in 2008... she has also served as an expert witness in numerous trials, and assisted in getting funding medical examiner facility which opened in 2006. she will officially leave her position in april. sabrina: three-to four- hundred burritos are made each thursday at a place in des moines...and it's not a mexican resturant..

a house subcommittee looked at the senate file from last year that proposed a four percent increase for schools. an amended version passed out of committee thursday. a republican majority on that committee changed it to a 2 percent increase. that's even less than what governor branstad has proposed. branstad 9:46 i'm recommending 2.45%, that's the same number i recommended last year. mark smith :45 we're glad the republicans are starting to move on the issue of school funding, but we want to point out they are 336 days late. sabrina: democrats say republicans aren't following iowa law because education funding is supposed to be decided on two years at a time, and last year's education funding increase was only good for one year. sabrina: in webster county, officials have decided to dismiss the county's assessor... jeanette thanupakorn was fired this week.... this comes after she was accused of returning to her office during paid administrative leave to delete files off her computer. the iowa attorney general is now
