in his oskaloosa home in september.. sash died from an accidental mixture of two painkillers. his family donated his brain to researchers who diagnosed tyler with c-t-e, a degenerative brain disease caused by repeated trauma. according to their findings...the disease had advanced to a stage rarely seen in someone sash's age. elias: in the number two spot this morning... elias: gunfire at a long-standing homeless camp in seattle, washington has left two people dead and three injured. police spent the night searching for the shooter, and believe the incident to be targeted. the city declared a state of emergency regarding homelessness in november elias: the third thing you need to know before you walk out the door... elias: the armed protest over federal land in oregon has come to an end... ammon bundy and a group of protestors have been occupying the federal wildlife refuge since january second. police arrested bundy during a traffic stop along with eight of his followers last night. during the stop, shots were fires and one protestor was

stretch of street in des moines... elias in three months... three people have died on the road... now the city has a plan to make it safer the most recent accident...a pedestrian was hit and killed last month.. in november, a crash involving an intoxicated driver left two people dead. people who live and work in the area say its just not safe. monday night the city unveiled a proposal to change the road between east 33rd and east 38th street... it includes adding a stop light... creating sidewalks where there are none, and putting in a median. it is going to be a little different, but i think its going to work. i do like the plan. elias: the next step is getting a proposal approved by city council... they're expecting that to happen in feburary or march. construction wouldn't begin until 2018... elias: new this morning, the commander of iowa's national guard addresses the state legislature. elias: major general timothy orr will

elias: the historic snowfall across a dozen eastern state left many stranded on the highways....inclu ding more than 150 students from iowa and nebraska. the group were stuck in pennsylvania while on their way to the "march for life" rally in washington, d.c. but, what they did to pass the time is now going viral. deborah souverain has the story. "i really didn't think it would get this big," said father patrick behm natpop -- video of church mass singing... hundreds of the faithful stranded on the side of a pennsylvania highway with no where to go... so what would they do?... well, hold an impromptu mass, of course. "they needed to get out and what better
