today, i caught up with the two parties about how you can still get into the caucusing game before tomorrow night. it may be difficult to believe that the next president of the united states has been working their way through iowa. charlie szold, iowa republicans: "you have 10 to 20 candidates stumping across the state. you have millions of dollars in tv ads, newspaper ads and radio ads. we're at the center of the political universe right now." 2008 had record caucus turnout. anticipating how many people will show up monday night is difficult, even just one day away. josh levitt, iowa democratsl: "we haven't had a caucus quite of this magnitude since then. so, that's one of the reasons it's so tough to give an accurate number ahead of time." but getting to your caucus site isn't that simple. you likely won't be headed to the last place you voted. charlie szold, iowa republicans: "the parties are responsible for putting on the caucuses. so, we have to find the location, we have to staff the locations. it's something that's totally separate from the normal election process." you can log onto the iowa democrat or republican website, and enter your address for where you'll caucus. if your address doesn't pop up, work backwards from the secretary of state's website. josh levitt, iowa democrats: "it's fun and it's important. we have a very lively and engaging process, and if someone has never been to our caucus on
10:05 pm
before, it's very simple." both parties recommend getting to your location at least an hour ahead of time. charlie szold, iowa republicans: "there might be a long line waiting to get in. now, don't be discouraged. wait it out. you know, 30 minutes, you'll be really happy that you did, and you got to caucus, and hopefully helped elect the next president of the united states." and as thousands prepare for caucus night, both sides expect the numbers to approach record levels once again. josh levitt, iowa democrats: "we're expecting a very strong turnout. obviously in 2008, we had an exceptional year with very high turnout and what we're seeing for many months now is that people are really energized and enthusiastic about our candidates." jacob/bam party members say it's not a party members say it's not a huge time investment to find out which candidate you'd like to caucus for. they say it's best to start your elimination process with issues that matter most to you, before you make your decision. live in the studio, jacob peklo, local five news. we are iowa. jack/ots: a mailer put out by the ted cruz campaign is

tonight. some iowans are receiving letters... rating their personal voting record. the mailer is a yellow piece of paper telling folks they need to caucus to raise their rating and they have a quote " voting violation." this is not sitting well with iowa secretary of state paul pate. jack pate released a statement saying, "there is no such thing as an election violation related to frequency of voting. any insinuation or statement to the contrary is wrong and i believe it is not in keeping in the spirit of the iowa caucuses." stephanie: staying on the polical trail with your local election headquarters. stephanie iowans get the first shot at choosing who should get the democratic and republican nominations for president. it can be full of glitz and glam. the caucuses have attracted big name celebrities and national media. but in other parts of the state, the first decisions happen in some pretty unexpected places. local fives nikki davidson explains. no different. it's that time again folks. time for you to sit back relax and let us show you the best of the best from the week that was! let's check out our top 5 plays of the week all made by local athletes. play number five sent in by the iowa wild-- and the rarely seen goalie fight-- this is like spotting big foot-- it happens but you need video proof. steven michalek making his ahl debut for the wild-- already helped his team to a 5-1 lead-- then drops the mitts. eventually landing a big right and the take down. michalek showing grit, grind, and a willingness to doe-cee-doe to help motivate his team. i think it's safe to say he did a little more than that-- getting a win in this fight and in his first ever regular season game with the wild. play number four comes from dowling and centennial. the maroon's sam ingoli has shown handles off before-- but this time he puts it full spin cycle-- splits the defenders and the dish... if you were giving points for style on assists in basketball-- they would have ended the game right there and then. ingoli made this look easier than the lay up to finish it off it's dizzying to watch-- but you

from the sophomore-- yes he still has 2 more years left to impress us with moves like a dagger-- slicing and dicing the defense. play number three-- it's a three for one deal. douglas wilson is so good-- he has a sports brand named after him... okay not really but he has pretty much cemented a spot in this countdown with not one-- not two-- but three dunks in the first quarter. the third one is what i picture the kid from space jam in the opening scene jumping like. he is the main reason i will only call hoover-- the high flying huskies. i mean per faa regulation you need an oxygen supply when at this altitude. he might want a space suit lets be real. great dunk by douglas the dougie wilson. play number two we go back to the wild thank you again josh fisher and the wild organization for the video-- michael keranan has some saucy paws-- check out the back hand top shelf short side where grandma hides the cookies. watch again he is straddling the goal line-- and somehow finds the only opening to beat the goalie with just call him the magic man. keranen may be swedish-- but he was one hundred

(jarrod uthoff) it's easier to lock up one person because you can get fivr guys defending one good guy. when you talk about two people that can start going and can get going in a hurry. it spreads the floor and makes the defense look around because there's less people to help. (peter jok) i mean i was just aggressive. when you are hot like that you don't want to pass up a lot of shots. you just got to be aggressive and um my teammates kept telling me to be aggressive that kept finding me and telling me to shoot and im not going to say no to that. (anthony clemmons) that's what makes our team dangerous you know because we got a lot of different weapons you never know who's going to step up and make those type of plays. tonight it was jarrod and pete pretty much the usual they are going to get theirs. but to be able to have three other guys that can go off for twenty or make an impact on the game. that's what makes our team pretty deadly.
