>> reporter: brian, central detectives say phones have been ringing tonight and tips have been coming in. investigators say they expect to be able to identify the suspected attackers and have them in custody real soon. they appear to be a large fun group of friend out on the town in center city but philadelphia police say these clean cut men and with men are all suspect gay barbers. >> in america you get to be who you are. you don't get to get jumped for being who you are. >> reporter: detectives say thursday night around 10:45 the group of 15 people, encountered two gay men ages 27 and 28 at 16th and chancellor near walnut. one man asked if they were boyfriends. homophobic slurs were thrown at the couple before they were jumped. violently beaten and then robbed of a cell phone and wallet. karen, a long time friend of the victim, says one of the men had to have his jaw wire shut and required surgery for severe injuries to his face. >> the the boys are just really happy that there is

recognize anyone in that group they want to hear from you. the reporting live from spring garden tonight kenneth moton for "action news" at ten on phl17. kenneth, thanks very much. this is man police across pennsylvania are trying to track down tonight, calling him armed and extremely dangerous. today investigators identified 31 year-old eric matthew frein as the shoot shore gunned down two state troopers at a barracks in pike county on friday. corporal brian dickson died from his wound. frein's own father says his sonnies a excellent marksman and does not miss. police say he has expressed his desire to kill, law enforcement. police have a name and a face in their search for who fired the stray bullet that killed a pregnant mom in frankford. now they are trying to catch, 26 year-old devon gi serd he ace cues of have shooting megan doto on adams avenue. she died at the scene. doctors delivered her baby girl in an emergency c-section but the child did not survive.
