>> it's not nearly as breezy out there this morning. we are expecting that transition when the winds do continue to subside. this morning we have temperature in the low to mid 70s again. above average for this year. 72 as the kids head to the bus stop. 74 at 8:00. it will be warm. it will be dry. a breeze off the east southeast. warm and partly sunny throughout the afternoon. highs will be reaching the mid 80s. another warm day and then the humidity rising to make it feel like 84 degrees by the later half of the afternoon. currently 73 across the board. east southeast wind anywhere between 10 and 15 miles perer hour. no gusts reported this morning. we're wakin up to mostly clear skies and dry conditions. changes coming up this weekend. i've got them coming up after the break. the final g.o.p. debate before the florida primary.

donald trump is certainly leading the polls in florida's primary and today he will be getting another formal endorsement fbom a former rival. >> i was with dr. ben carson today who will endorse me tomorrow morning. >>reporter: donald trump let that news fly. the reaction came in real time. >> this election is the first one we've ever minute minute by minute. >>reporter: google's an litics revealed the pulse of the nation as voters listened. donald trump was the most searched candidate overnight nationwide and in florida. marco rubio and ted cruz went back and forth for second. >> we wanted to have free trade but fair trade. >>reporter: while john kasich was defending his trade policies, voters found google rated him number one on economic issues. the economy just behind isis as the most searched i iues.

duked it out on the debate stage, the candidates were back on that trail. >> senator bernie sanders and hillary clinton out on tuesday. janine stanwood. >>reporter: senator clinton and sanders spent a good part of the day crisscrossing the state. even though florida is not winnej takes all, no doubt it's still a very important state. hillary clinton made a couple stops in florida yesterday before heading to north carolina and illinois. she talked about raising the minimum wage and guarantying equal pay for wen, especially in the south. she wants to keep that momentum up. this week marks bernie sanders's first time in florida. here he is at a rally in tampa after making other stops in the central part of the state. his message he is the candidate who tells the truth and he's the better person to save the middle class.

for 24 days i did not know if danielle would make it. >>reporter: she did and her recovery has been nothing short of remarkable. it was on valentine's day she was attacked by miami police by byron mitchell, a roommate she found on craigslist. prosecutors say he snapped, even tried to cut the lips and eyelids off the 23-year-old. her mother overjoyed she's slowly getting her daughter back. >> she will hug you. she tries to talk and at times i can hear her say i love you. >>reporter: mitchell claims it was self-defense and called police himself. jones' family not buying that due to the severity of her injuries. they followed the case every step of the way and have been at the hospital. the case is only going through the legal system. this woman is going to have to learn to walk again, talk again. still a long road to recovery.

fund me page to help with the medical expenses you can go to local10.com for more information. reporting from miami, i'm andrew perez, local news. a would-be intruder is dead this morning after the owner of the home he targeted confronted him with a gun. shyann malone has more from that home in northwest miami-dade. >>reporter: flashing lights,s, crime scene investigators surrounding this northwest miami-dade home. it's the scene of a deadly shooting. the homeowner, a 54-year-old woman. police say she left the house around 5:30. her alarm goes off so she returns. when she does, sheas met by an intruder. >> she meets a s subject exiting the home through the rearmenthots were fired. >>reporter: police say the opener was armed. >> subject in this case, a black male 17 years of age was shot by the homeowner. >>reporter: officers arrived

it was too late. the 17-year-old was rushed to jackson memorial hospital where he died. family members showed up to the scene but too distraught to comment on their loss. >> they y e just doing their job. >>reporter: right now the homeowner is being questioned. ultimately the state's attorney's office will decide what happens next. >> if there's any type of situati where you believe you're being robbed or there's a burglary of any sort, then you have an opportunity to avoid the situation and let the police and it. we're trained for these type of situations. this i i what we're here for. >>reporter: i asked the detectives on the scene here if the stand your ground law would apply here, they tell me that has yet to be determined. federal agents raiding an opa-locka building yesterday and haul ago way boxes saying those boxes are needed to build a corruption case against

there are more blatantly racist signs that have been hanging in this building. he says you might imagine hanging in a kkk meeting hall. this is sal's towing, a long-standing ft. lauderdale business that boasts contracts with coral springs, lauderdale by the sea, wilton manors and the fire marshal among other governments. >> they are basically flat-out racist. >>reporter: an ex-employee recently quit, says the signs on the walls aren't the only thing racist at the business. he said the tow company's senior driver who trained him referred to him as the n word and constantly complained about ray shuns. i tried to ask the owner sal about it. >> what can we do@ for you? >>reporter: we soon spotted one of the offending signs and asked

we know here in south florida we have to worry about cliffs all the time because our topography is so -- all right. south florida. good friday morning. one thing you're not going to have to worry about as much is how gusty the winds are today it. moving our camera around. it's pumping in the heat and humidity. temperatures still above average. you won't notice the wind gusts as strong today leading into the weekend. we are definitely going to see the increase in our humidity. currently 71 in kendall. 72 in pembroke pines. 73 in marathon. anan as you see the winds much calmer this morning, yesterday at this time we were talking wind gusts in the 30s. as the kids head to the bustop, 73 degrees. we'll be warm and dry, a mix of sun and clouds in the forecast. definitely feeling more humid in the afternoon. i'll have more in the forecast. i-95 southbound at the glades, we've got our express lanes completely blockededhis morning.
