up. during the attempted robbery the two got into a scuffle on lehigh avenue straw about her -- strawberry mansion section. the victim got a hold of the gun and shot the suspect. the man who shot him fled into the home. the suspect is in critical condition. a lightning strike sparked is this house fire in abington, montgomery county. brian sullivan a photographer with the fire company sent us video of flames shooting from the home on harding avenue. officials say thunderstorms were moving across the area at the time the fire started. a man inside was able to escape safely. it took an hour and a half for fire crews to get the upper hand. >> still much more to come on "action news" sunday morning. >> narcotics agents pull

the cloud cover will swing east and follow the cold front which has brought a dramatic change in our temperatures. 66 degrees in philadelphia. trenton, 63. wilmington, 64. reading, 62. lancaster, 63 and dover, sitting at a nice comfortable 675 degrees this morning. dew points have dropped off, so the air is nice and dry, no longer feels like you can cut it with a knife like you could yesterday. we're running from 10 to 11 degrees cooler than yesterday at this time. frontal system is sitting right about like that. it's pushing through the nation's capitol. le we've got a cool canadian high pressure system that will set up over the next few days. this front will work south before it runs into another high off the coast of the carolinas that will hold the front up. and eventually an area of low pressure will set up off the virginia cape that will accuracy problems for the jersey shore

yesterday i couldn't wait to get back inside, today, i will pull up a chair and watch the game from here. the humidity has dropped off, center city, 66. glassboro, 65. buena, 65. same number for gandys beach. smyrna, 63. woodbine, 65 very comfortable degrees this morning. the satellite and radar composite you see that sudden explosion of thunderstorms yesterday and that's what rumbled through here it went hours of 4 and 9:00 p.m. we saw winds as high as 60 miles per hour with some of the thunderstorms and one to 2 inches of rain, now the frontal system is stalled off the coast in between washington, d.c. and norfolk. you look at the bottom of screen, you see that small cluster of showers that's a small area of low pressure. that will stall along the front that will drive to the north and that bring another change to the weather. today is nice and comfortable.

shooting in cobbs creek. narcotics officers removed what they say were marijuana plants from the home. kenneth moten has more on the bloodshed inside that duplex. >> reporter: homicide detectives and drug officers were on this scene in cobbs creek. philadelphia police got the call around 8:00 p.m. on the 5300 block of angora terrace. there was a confrontation in the the car -- doorway of a house when one man pulled out a gun and shot the man who lives at the mom. he was shot in the chest and armpit. police found a gun under his body. he was pronounced at the scene. 89 bullets hit a 24-year-old man in the head on the right side of his body. he was discovered on the steps of the second floor and transported to the hospital of the university of pennsylvania in extremely critical condition. during the search police found 30 marijuana plants in the house. they don't know if the shooting

was drug related. but there were 3 witnesses in the house that were giving details about the shooting. >> sources on the scene indicate that the shooter came to the scene to confront the male who lives at the address, the confrontation occurred in the doorway there, at which point in time the suspect did produce a handgun and fire multiple shots at the resident there. >> reporter: investigators say the gunman ran away on foot. the gunman was known to the victim, police are hoping to get an i.d. soon to find him. the names of of the victims have not been released. >> a viewing will be held at our lady of sorrows church for the mainland regional high school student who was killed in a car accident. 14-year-old sisling cook died.

her car was hit by a pick up truck on august 30th. she and her four soccer teammates were going to a soccer game. the other girls survived the crash. >> two women were struck by lightning during a storm in massachusetts. strong winds, rain and lightning pounded the boston area last night. the women were struck at crane beach. both are in critical condition. in michigan strong winds brought down a 200-year-old oak tree. it landed right on top of a home. fortunately nobody inside was hurt. in west virginia heavy rain caused flooding and power outages. >> a bye -- a bye partisan -- a bipartisan sum it will be held with chris christie tomorrow in atlantic city.

then this front barreled through, you can see the shades here, we had purples and reds on the radar imaging. that was indicating the winds of 55, 60 miles per hour and we had the drenching downpours, one to two inches of rain quickly with the thunderstorms. now it hit the coast you can see the clouds following along with it, we're clear north and west, today it will be a nice afternoon, high pressure in control we'll call it mild, it feels cool out there this morning, we'll call it mild overall with an uncreasing amount of sunshine later this afternoon. tomorrow is an interesting day, the same front will stall out near the coast of virginias. a small area of low pressure rides along the front. it will be close enough to provide the jersey shore, most of south jersey with a lot of the clouds and showers, from philadelphia west you'll see a mix of sun and clouds, it will turn out to be a decent day for monday, same thing for tuesday. here's the set up, east of the city, mostly cloudy skies, monday and tuesday, couple of
