good afternoon, in the news, tighter security in federal buildings nationwide. the reason for the measures this week. and the nurse at the center of the ebola debate. what she says about her quarantine. and the big story is a rocket disaster. searchers are looking for debris after a ship exploded in front of a horrified crowd. students from ocean city were among those that witnessed the blast. they were watching the launch because the ship was suppose to carry their science experiments to the international space station along with thousands of supplies for nasa. karen travers as more now. >> reporter: the investigation is underway for what caused this fiery rocket failure. the massive launch from

orbital sciences and space x to make the trips. zbl that was karen travers reporting. a camden county police officer is among 40 arrests with a drug trafficking network. he is charged with official misconduct and threats. it was discovered that bailey's husband was a member of the alleged drug ring, the network distributed more than a million dollars worth of crack cocaine and heroin in the suburbs in camden. >> the seizure of 8,000 bags of heroin and 1,000 bags of crack cocaine and 10 pounds of marijuana and more than $11,000 in cash and four firearms, including an automatic rifle.

work its way over to berks county and eventually reading, it's mostly pushing up to the poconos and slowly sliding towards the east, in philadelphia we'll have to wait until much later this afternoon. and there is a question on how much that survives to the delaware river. 67 in philadelphia and 67 in wilmington. areas to the north and west of the city, allentown and reading are a lot cooler because the cooler air associated with the front and the rain is pushing towards our north and western suburbs and you have probably hit your high for the day up to the north. current winds the numbers are not what i want to you direct your attention to, notice the direction though, from the southwest, through dover up into philadelphia but up to the north and west they are dropping down from the cooler northwest, that is the line where the front is making its presence felt and

billion worth of damage in new jersey, practically destroying some of our shore towns. it's a slow process and thousands are still out of their homes and businesses like this marina are still recovering but on the second anniversary. the new jersey first lady visited a home in toms river. it's nearly finished by an organization, a future with hope. that is an organization helping sandy victims with assistance. the lorenzo family should be back in by thanksgiving. lorraine describes what that means. >> a lot. our kids can get back to their normal lives and their normal bus route and playing with their friends in the neighborhood. >> its a blessing to gets back home and get back to the normal.

volcano is just a few hundred yards away from the town. paul kidderman was found last night in pueblo, colorado, about 100 miles away from sports authority field, police would not give details about what the 53-year-old was doing the whole time, only that no criminal charges are expected and they are finished with this case. they referred questions to his family and friends who have not provided any comment. a man suspected in several rapes and sexual assaults in a cross country crime spree. greg lewis was captured. he cut off his security bracelet and fled to north carolina where he allegedly attacked and robbed a woman at a motel and accused of sexual assaults in ohio, colorado and oregon.

the forecast. >> yes maybe, and cooler temperatures for sure. get out the next couple of hours before they drop a bit. stormtracker 6 live double scan, we have got a little bit of rain to the west of us. right now it's tracking to the north-northeast, it looks like reading will pick up some of this. maybe over the next half hour or so it's mostly light rain, chester county and places like oxford and coatesville, this is out to the west and slow to push towards the east. as we look outside, we are looking east at bucks county, eaglesville, all the leaves are starting to change, and we love the shots this time of year. it gives us the sense of the changing seasons across the wide region, a pretty shot from the chopper. your winds are west northwest at 12 miles per hour. a little bit of a breeze, these

are the temperatures up north, the affects of the cool front pushing closer and closer to the region. knocking the temperatures down to 59 in lancaster but not all that far to the east 69 in philadelphia and 69 in wilmington and trenton. but this cooler air will move towards the shore the rest of the afternoon and into the evening. in terms of precipitation, it looks like future tracker is still consistent with the idea that the northern and western suburbs have the best chance of getting this this afternoon. it's light stuff but enough to make the roads wet this afternoon. as it starts to push to the i-95 corridor, it's consistent with drying it out and making it fall apart. i think there could be a sprinkle or shower moving into philadelphia by 5:00 or 6:00 and to the shore after that. but anything we get today won't amount to all that much. future tracker, the winds are not impressive.

from now and on up into the rest of the afternoon and evening, the winds drop more out of the northwest and that will continue to draw cooler air in and that is because of the front coming through and the air with it. up in allentown, we are already past our high of 65, mostly cloudy and a spotty shower and temperatures are in the process of dropping in the lehigh valley and reading as well. we'll hold on to the high of 68 and it will take a longer period of time to get the cold front down to you. you'll get the high like you normally would like 4:00 this afternoon. philadelphia we may squeeze out 70 over the next half hour or so and then it turns around and starts to drop. lots tf clouds and a spotty shower. a high of 70 with temperatures dipping in the afternoon, can't rule out a spotty shower, more sun tomorrow and cooler with a high of 60, and a mix of sun

"action news" continues with rick williams, sara bloomquist and meteorologist, david murphy. here are stories we are following, law enforcement including the fbi announce a major drug bust in camden, a female police officer is among those arrested. we'll have a live report with the latest coming up. officials in virginia are looking into what caused a space rocket to explode shortly after liftoff last night. and a local girl is dealing with a condition not common in children, kidney stones. now details out of camden, new jersey, a female police officer has been arrested as part of a big drug bust, vernon odom is live in camden where police just wrapped up a news conference a short time ago. vernon what can you tell us? >> reporter: good afternoon, police are calling this a sweeping massive drug bust that the camden county police chief says will ripple down to the shore resort area.

40 people are indicted today for allegedly dealing heroin and crack cocaine. among them camden police officer, ashley bailey, 28, the wife of one of men accused of being a king pin in this operation. this in the wake of shootings here last spring, she is accused of using inside police information to carry this conspiracy out. police have seized 8,000 pounds of heroin as evidence they will use here. >> getting this person out of our organization and off the streets and causing to stand in the court of law at some time is one of our highest priorities. >> exofficer ashley bailey could get up to 30 years in prison if she is convicted of all the charges today. that is far more than the king pins involved in this

conspiracy. police say that the camden operation has dealers working down to the beaches of southern new jersey. live in camden, channel 6 "action news.." crews are searching for debris from the rocket that exploded on liftoff from virginia, it was suppose to go on a supply mission to the international space station. it was carrying two tons of experiments and equipment. officials at orbital sciences the company that launched the rocket hopes that any pieces found would pinpoint the cause of the blast. the ship was carrying a science spearments from students from ocean city high school. security is being ramped up to the response to the threat of terrorists and lone wolf attacks. we are joined now in new york city. >> reporter: that is right, officers here outside of the federal reserve are already

today, but it will get cooler in the evening, lets look live from sky 6 hd, plenty of clouds around and a slight chance of rain, but today is considered to be a nice day, but cooler temperatures are right around the corner. lets get the latest from meteorologist, david murphy. >> it's a nice morning and the afternoon is looking good in most neighborhoods. there are changes in store, there is a cold front to the west that is driving showers into the region and over the next couple of hours, the northern and western suburbs and western counties. as this continues to move to the east it may try and fall a part before it gets to philadelphia, between now and 7:00 and 8:00, the front itself moving slowly and ahead of it we have managed to break out sunshine along with some of the that high to midlevel cloud cover. it's a nice stretch we have been on, last friday, 70 and 70 last

saturday and 60s after that and yesterday all the way up to 76, today we manage to stay mild but things are in the process of changes, the cooler air with the front is beginning to march its way down to the northern and western suburbs, we are back down to the 50s now, quakertown 61 and 71 in philadelphia, and in fact center city temperature is as high as it will go. now, if you are in south jersey, you have numbers on or about 70, you'll hold on to the warmer air, it will take longer for the cooler air to come down from the north. as we roll through the rest of the day, it looks like you'll continue to see the temperatures dip from where they are right now in philadelphia, for your drive time, 64 at 4:00 and 60 at 5:30 and by 7:00 you are back into the upper 50s and there is cooler air to the west than is on its way in.
