significant losses. >> and pennsylvania candidates for governor make a last minute push with marquee names to help them out. >> but the big story is high winds created problems across the region. the wind was whipping today in case you missed it. it left thousands without power and brought down trees. annie mccormick is live in fairmont park where a bunch of trees came down, we begin with melissa magee live at the big board. >> reporter: yeah, walter the winds were strong all day today. it's saturday of an area of low pressure departing to the north. peak winds 48 miles per hour in the poconos. wilmington and dover atlantic city, clocking in at 45 miles per hour. you have the winds coming in out of the north an northwest. it did make for a cool start to

hold on your hat kind of day. today in fairmont it was duck for cover. take a look at this tree. it's a massive tree that split in half and demolished this vehicle. it was one of several vehicles hit when the winds whipped through the area. on the avenues of the republic the massive tree fell under the pressure of heavy winds. and these pictures sent to us, show a blue vehicle damaged from the same tree. many people parked here to attend the annual walk benefiting lung cancer reach. tent for the events blew away. >> the winds were so wild, we had the tent blow over. >> reporter: we were there always party on event and pullies cleaned up what was left. even by afternoon the tarps fastened by to do ground were
