>> he burst in the forefront of america's musical awareness in 1984 with purple rain. and that began the professional journey of the supremely talented musician. prince died today at the age of 57. and a death that, at this point is shrouded in mystery. it is thursday night and the big story on "action news" tonight is the death of a man known around the world by one name. prince. prince was found dead this morning at paisley park his studio compound in suburban minneapolis. this was the van as it the transported his body to authorities so they could perform an autopsy tomorrow. there had been reports that prince had been battling the flu. this is video of his last concert performance a week ago tonight in atlanta but his plane had to make an emergency landing in molean illinois on his way back from the concert. but he hosted a public dance party at paisley park last saturday night to show everybody he was okay, and

officer-involved shooting that landed a 17 year-old and the officer in the hospital tonight. the incident happened near third and tatnal streets just after 7:00 o'clock. police say the teenager pointed a gun at police and officers shot the boy in the knee. he was being treated at the hospital. an office ever was also taken to the hospital because of an unspecified medical condition. they came together tonight, at the howard high school of technology in wilmington, friend, family and fellow students trying to come to grips with the death of a student. sixteen year-old amy joyner, succumbed after being a salted by several girls in a school bathroom. >> reporter: tears and hugs outside howard high school of technology where a couple hundred people gathered tonight, here to remember 16 year-old amy joyner, sophomore student killed so tragically during a beef with a group with another group of girls. >> whenever she had a problem, she would talk to us. i never would have thought she would be a girl that would get killed like that. >> reporter: police say victim was involve in the fight with another girl in the girls bathroom just after school started at 8:15. one student tells us she was in the stall when the fight broke out. >> she was fighting the girl. that is when all of them other girls started banking her. >> reporter: started what. >> banking, jumping her. >> reporter: right. >> she hit the her head on the sink. >> reporter: paramedics tried to save join are as she was wheeled to the state helicopter to be air lifted to ai dew point hospital for children. she later died. the incident left officials in shock. >> i'm's so upset, that a young lady lost her life today. things like this shouldn't

philadelphia, traffic tragedy, at whittaker avenue and a motorcyclist has been killed, in fact, perhaps you can see the white sheet on the ground on the street. that is covering the deceased, and right behind these three police officer's is the victim's met or cycle laying in the street. obviously many emergency personnel converged on this scene, and ambulance as well which apparently is not now needed. we don't necessity how this happened. we don't necessity how many other vehicles were involved but one person has been killed a motorcyclist in northeast philadelphia. a student was injured after three dust devils popped up at a sporting event in china today. teachers tried to evacuate the students from the field, as soon as the first hit but one of the dust devils sent a student flying several feet in the air. that student hit the ground injuring his head but he will

be okay. queen elizabeth celebrated her 90th birthday today, thousands greeted the queen as she took a stroll near her home at windsor castle and the crowd loved it. the queen even got a cake, made especially for her by winner of the british baking show, everybody sang happy birthday. today was a change, the queen normally spend her birthday in private and then celebrates it publicly on an official holiday inn june but not this year, on her 90th birthday. this is the scene april 15th of last year when a man landed a gyro helicopter on the ground of the u.s. capitol. today 62 year-old douglass hughes was sentenced to 120 days in jail. judge today said hughes displayed a total lack of concern for the safety of others. hughes said the stunt was meant to protest influence of money in politics. former campaign manager for the mayors of allentown and reading pleaded guilty to day. it is part of an ongoing corruption probe.
