one, trish, what are you learning about this from investigators? >> reporter: well, gray, within the past 30 minutes or so, we learned police have a suspect in custody in connection with the deadly fire. that person has not been charged so police are not releasing that person's name. police and fire officials are on the scene investigating the cause of the suspicious fire and police tell me they will be here for the most of the day. investigators from the bucks county d.a.'s office and state police are here after one person was found dead inside the lincoln hotel overnights. crews were called around 2:30 a.m., they found thick black smoke coming from rooms 103, and 104. firefighters had the blaze under control at 3:00 a.m. they had to rescue three people from the rooms on the second floor. several people were taken to the hospital for smoke inhalation. no word on their conditions. but police say their injuries

are not life threatening. several witnesses said he was trapped in the room. a man was yelling get me out of the bed, get me out of the bed, i don't know if he was tied up. we couldn't get into the doorway, there was too much smoke. everybody was like get out get out get out, there's fire, get out. i took my things and ran as fast as i can. >> reporter: now, the red cross is here assisting people who were staying is at the lincoln. officials have not released the identity of the victim and investigators are working to determine the cause of the deadly fire. live in bensalem, trish hartman channel 6 "action news." thanks for the update. 9:03 is the time. here in philadelphia. police are looking for a suspect involved in a deadly stabbing overnight. officers were called to the intersection of 36th and aspen

street in the city's mantua section at 2:00 a.m. that's where they found a 50-year-old mantua -- man with a stab injury to the chest. he died a short time later, there are no systems or motives. police are looking for a masked gunman who held up a sports bar, the tavern on broad was targeted at 12:30 a.m. police say a mask man entered the bar and took money from the manager before running off. police are looking at surveillance cameras in hopes of identifying the suspect. no arrests in an early morning rob and shooting in the kingsessing section of philadelphia. the action cam was at 52nd and warrington avenue. a 24-year-old man was walking in the area when a gunman approached him demanding money. the suspect shot the victim in

the hand him there is no word on how much money the gunman stole, the victim is in stable condition. prom night is the most memorable night of a student's life. two students lost their lives, jeff chirico spoke to a heartbroken community. >> reporter: photos of the two young women are flooding social media their sudden deaths after bridgeton high school prom is causing a flood of tears this is supposed to be a happy night. kids live for this moment, to enjoy this moment and they are not able to talk about it. >> reporter: mourners gathered around the memorial to remember the two girls. the two died after the car they were in veered off route 49 around a curve in maurice river township and hit the tree at 3:45 a.m. two other teens were hurt.

it's believed they were following friends on the way home from an after prom party. i talked to the three boys and they went to ocean city, they were on their way back and the girls were following the boys and they said they just saw their lights go off the road. i was totally devastated. >> reporter: bridgeton school superintendent said the tragedy comes the same day for another student who died in a car crash less than two weeks ago. we have support from our chaplains and current county guidance -- cumberland county guidance center. i've got a 17-year-old, her prom was last week, and i am thankful and blessed that she made it home. >> reporter: as of last night, 16-year-old was in critical condition, 17-year-old was in stable condition. new jersey state police are in

in a high-speed crash that happened in southwest philadelphia. the action cam was at the intersection of 63rd an eastwick. a car went out of control slam into two concrete barriers. the crash trapped two people in the car. firefighters freed them and took them to penn presbyterian hospital. philadelphia police are searching for a gunman after a woman was shot 6 times overnight. police found 30 shell casing on the ground on the 3000 block of north 13th street in the tioga section. the woman was rushed to the hospital with 6 gunshot wounds to her body. she is in critical condition. two men were hurt escaping the gunfire. they were taken to temple. in camden, a 44-year-old man is paralyzed from the waist down after he was shot a number of times overnight. police were called to the scene at 10:30 last night. the man was rushed to cooper university hospital in critical condition. police have no suspects or

motives for the shooting. in south jersey, police are investigating an accident that sent a pedestrian to the hospital. the victim was hit at the intersection of route 130 and morton town road in burlington, late last night. you can see where the victim struck the windshield of the car. the person was taken to the hospital with serious injuries. no word if the driver will face any charges. tuesday voters head to the polls in kentucky for their democratic primary. the state of oregon will hold its primary for democrat and republican voters, hillary clinton and bernie sanders are complaining in the bluegrass state this weekend. there are 130 delegates up for grabs in kentucky and oregon. clinton maintains a commanding lead over sanders in the delegate count. sanders pledges to stay in the race until the july convention in philadelphia. donald trump as we have mentioned to you is off the campaign trail to attend his

most of the day because it will take time to determine the exact cause. the call came in around 2:30 a.m. crews were called to the 2200 block of lincoln highway in bensalem. they found smoke coming from rooms 1 oh, 3 and 104. fire crews had flames under control in 30 minutes. but they had to rescue people from the second floor of the motel. one man said he heard a person screaming from inside a room, but the smoke was too thick for the witness to try to find him. everybody was running out of the building. i was the last one coming out of the building i was still getting my stuff. when i come downstairs, i seen a cop in the hallway. i heard guy screaming help help i couldn't get out of the bed. officers were called for an early morning hour for a fire, the fire appears suspicious in

nature, at this time we have a confirmed victim inside. several people were taken to the hospital to be treated for smoke. police say their injuries are not life threatening. officials have not relosed -- released the identity of the victim. gray. thank you for the update. police are looking for a suspect involved in a deadly stabbing overnight. officers were called to the intersection of 36th and aspen in mantua at 2:00 a.m. where they found a 52-year-old man with a stab injury to the chest. he died a short time later. there are no reports of suspects or motives. police are searching for the masked gunman who held you a popular sports bar overnight, the tavern on broad was targeted at 12:30 a.m. police say an masked man armed

with a gun entered the bar and took money from the manager's office before running off. police are looking at surveillance cameras in hopes of identifying the suspect. no arrests in the early morning robbery and shooting in kingsessing section of philadelphia. police say a 24-year-old man was walking in the area at 1:30 a.m. when a gunman approached him demanding money. during the robbery, the suspect shot the victim in the handle. there's no word on how much money the gunman stole. the victim is in the hospital in stable condition. an investigation just beginning into whether a caused the crash that killed two teens as they were heading home from the prom. they died hours after their at bridgeton high school. they attended an after-prom party in ocean city. they were heading home. the car veered off route 49 in maurice river township and slammed into a tree 3:45 a.m.
