the eagles head coach after they traded sam bradford. we have details after a woman was run over and beaten to death in the city's logan section. the big story on "action news" this noon is the coastal impact hermine is having along the shore. the storm is massive, but it has moved farther east. from sky6 live hd you can see the sun is shining in atlantic city, but the storm is creating rough surf which is causing beach erosion. let's get the latest from meteorologist karen rogers at the big board for david murphy. hi, karen. >> reporter: hi, alicia, as you look at the image you can see the size of hermine barely moving at 6 miles per hour. look how far it is from our coastline, about 300 miles off the coast of atlantic city and delaware. even though it is projected to make a jog toward the west, it's far enough out the impact that we'll see are minimal even along the coastline. here's what to expect. we'll continue to see the waves

that erupt, 8 to 12-foot waves, dangerous rip currents that will continue for the next couple of days. be careful and stay out of the water. some beach erosion, we're seeing some. some of the winds are pulling out of the north as owe posted to the northeasterly. that will improve conditions there. minor coastal flooding. we have another high tide between 10:30 and 11:00 p.m. where we'll see minor coastal flooding tonight. as we look at the satellite image you can see the clouds that hermine is pulling along the coast. it's almost a wall, look at the cloud cover north and west of the city. northern montgomery and bucks county, you're looking sunny. it depends on where you're living. hermine is spreading the clouds through the region on this labor day. at the shore today lots of clouds, gusty winds at times.

making the most of their labor day weekend. surfers used the advantage of the storm to surf. >> reporter: lifeguards are asking people to go in knee deep. this family from flemming ton new jersey said they have not gotten anytime in the ocean with their two young boys, but still they are glad they stayed. >> i expected it to be crazy, it's dead down here, we hit no traffic coming down, it was nice. >> a little too quiet if you ask shop owners on the boardwalk, businesses are feeling hermine's effects even while out to sea. it's a much quieter weekend than amend. >> business is slower after the

police say the victim was over and beaten to death with a shovel. it happened last night in the city's logan section. jennette reyes has been following this story all morning, live at the scene where she spoke exclusively with a witness. jennette what is the witness saying? >> reporter: well, alicia, the suspect is behind bars for what people described as a horrific and gruesome crime. witnesses tell me this is where it happened where the woman was run over at least four times and then hit over the head with a shovel. it was 8:30 p.m. many of the residents along west loudon and franklin street were out for a block party. this woman who asked not to have her name released she was home when she heard what sounded like a crash. >> i was in my house and i was eating and i heard a loud boom. she peered out the window and one of the few to witness a

horrific crime taking place in the dimly lit lot across the street. >> i thought was a car accident, the driver backed up with the car i saw the lady laying in the lot, and he kept running the car over her, but the suspect was not done with the gravelily injured victim -- gravely injured victim, a woman in her 30s. >> he went to the trunk and got a shovel and started hitting her over the head with it, she was screaming no, no, no. >> reporter: philadelphia police responded to reports of a woman screaming last night they arrived on scene to find the woman pinned under the white 2012 maxima. the suspect was relaxed and unbotherred. >> he was none -- walking

around. >> reporter: the woman was rushed to einstein where she was pronounced at 9:45 p.m. this witness said she heard the suspect it was an accident. >> that was no accident. you intentionally did that. >> philadelphia police agreed. she said she is relieved the suspect is in custody, but is having trouble pushing the image out of her mind. witnesses say the two were in a relationship, philadelphia police have not confirmed the connection. this is very much an active investigation, but charges have not yet been filed. reporting in logan, jennette reyes. two fires in bucks county are under investigation one was deadly. firefighters found the victim

inside the home early this morning in the 3500 block of as store avenue of feasterville. investigators think the fire was caused by careless smoking. the flame spread quickly because he was a possible horder. firefighters battled a frier in bensalem. they got the 911 call in the 2900 block of forest avenue. they got the fire under control quickly. no word if anyone was injured. police in atlantic city are expected to give us an update on the officer who was shot over the weekend outside a casino. investigator have not released his identity but said he was taken to the hospital in critical condition early saturday morning. the officer was shot after he intervened in an attempted robbery outside caesars casino. during shooting one of the suspects was shot and killed, police have arrested two other men. this afternoon cleanup is underway on the benjamin franklin parkway after the annual made in america festival.

workers have been tearing down the stages and light fixtures, others were out early this morning picking up trash left behind from concert goers. two day festival organized by jay-z celebrated its 5th consecutive year in philadelphia. the parkway will be closed until tomorrow. ♪ dozens lined the streets in wilmington, delaware for the city's annual labor day parade. police officers rode their motorcycle and delaware public employees took part, there were several local marching bands. with summer vacation season coming to an end, septa is rolling out changes. starting tomorrow they will add express bus service, because repairs are still being made to dozen of silverliner v rail cars. media/elwyn line service returned while the viaduct
