around 4:30 p.m. once they got to the scene, a woman oapped -- opened the door and the suspect behind her shot at police. she was shot in the arm and ran out of the house and taken to the hospital. several people were inside the home including children. >> we were concerned about the people inside. we had four children inside, i don't know their ages and two adults they were inside. >> reporter: the suspect's mother was inside the home and helped police negotiate with them. when s.w.a.t team members entered they found the suspect shot in the leg. he has been identified as a man in his 20s. he is in the hospital under police custody. we know the name of the woman who tried to run down police officers, she was driving a stolen jeep, when police officers stopped her she tried

to run them down. avila led them on a chase where she crashed into a police van. no officers were hurt. pennsylvania governor, tom wolf is mourning the loss of his father, bill wolf died at the age of 95. funeral arrangements are pending. a spokesperson said the governor will not take part in the 9/11 observance 67 flight 93. this morning a 7-year-old boy is being called a hero. nora muchanic has his story. >> i remember screaming. >> reporter: 29-year-old christine is a type one diabetic who went into shock when her blood sugar leaves took a dangerous dive. that's when her 7-year-old son aidan called 911. when he couldn't get through he called family and friends and

dialed 911 again. he said he was scared at the time. >> i am sad that she like died. she need something to make her feel better. >> he unlocked the door and put the dog in the backyard before they arrived, he was very calm. >> reporter: aidan's mom recovered quickly after getting a shot to raise her blood sugar levels. family and friends are applauding his actions. >> it's amazing, he is 7 years old and he is an amazing little boy. >> reporter: to honor the life saving efforts aidan was invited to throw out the first pitch fortunate lakewood blue claws game. >> i was so proud of him, i broke down in tears and crying. >> reporter: aidan learned to call 911 when his late god mother showed him how to do that when an i want happened four

>> new video shows police officers in maryland saving four people including two infants from the burning car. look at this, when officers got to the scene they say flames were shooting from the car. look at this, they dragged a man from the wreckage and then they realized three others including two babies were trapped in the car.
