creepy clowns threatening violence to local schools. and tonight philadelphia police say at least one incident was a prank allegedly committed by a 13-year-old girl. recent social media posts named a number of private and public schools as target of violence. and that prompted some schools to take extra precautions today. one of them was neumann goretti high school in south philadelphia and that's where "action news" reporter bob brooks is live with the very latest tonight. bob. >> reporter: rick, good evening. one of the creepy clown posts said they were going to come to neumann goretti and shoot all of the kids all the students all the teachers we found out a lot of these creepy clowns behind these accounts they're teenagers but that doesn't change the fact that they have to be investigated and taken very seriously. >> you have a gray hair. >> reporter: this is abington residents joyce also know as bubbles the clown. imagine working at a career for 19 years mostly helping kids then to only have that

>> a state of emergency has been declared for parts of florida and north carolina. if you look at this infrared satellite you can see matthew is a powerful storm. you can detect the eye very clearly. it's very symmetrical barreling towards haiti right now, category four hurricane with maximum sustained winds 140 miles per hour. underneath all of the rain we also have the waves 18-foot waves already beginning to hit the western part of haiti and the latest track has it kind of threading the needle through the caribbean and that will keep it a very strong hurricane. it's moving to the north just east of due north at 7 miles per hour. it's 225 miles southwest of port-au-prince haiti. it looks like it will be heading towards eastern cuba by tomorrow afternoon. still a cat four. so this means that haiti will be on the east side of the the storm. could get rain up to 40-inches causing life-threatening flooding and mudslides. a lot of people still living in tents in haiti after the earthquake back in 2010. now, this is the latest track

and you can see how it's really shifted it farther to the west, much closer to the coast of florida heading through the bahamas as a category three hurricane right over nassau. by tuesday afternoon. and this also shows that by over the weekend likely making landfall over north carolina near the outer banks as a category two hurricane. now, there is a big window we're several days out it can shift and a lot of question where does it head after that? the spaghetti plots showing a pretty good consensus after it makes landfall near cape hatteras it would be rolling up the eastern seaboard. that means we do have the potential for heavy rain, high winds and at least dangerous surf. i'll have more he details on what to expect with this storm in the full accuweather forecast. rick. >> cecily we'll check back in later. thank you. it was supposed to be a long awaited moment for septa and its riders. the transit agency resumed a full weekday schedule on the regional rail this morning. the first time since july when more than 100 cars were taken out of service for he --

repairs causing big delays and crowding. john rawlins is live at suburban station checking out the commuter situation tonight following a morning of some mishaps. john. >> reporter: well, rick, i was just downstairs and the afternoon commute is starting to show some stress, some late trains. that was certainly the case this morning. now on the possessive side very little overcrowding and no one was passed by by a packed train. there were still issues. commuters scrambling for home on the first day of a almost normal rail schedule. the main status board indicated all trains were on time. this morning however there were glitches. a preliminary count, about one in 10 trains delayed for an average of 12 minutes. social media posts signaled ride are discontent. "r5 a today. eight there. 31. just sitting just outside 30th street now for 15 minutes. will they ever get this commute right again? ." another, "norristown is still late and for what reason? it's the new normal."

of days and they're also hoping that a lot of commuters out there like miss rand who would rather board a train than drive a car. live in suburban station john rawlins channel6 "action news." rick. >> john thank you. a judge delayed the murder trial of a haddon township man accused of killing his three-year-old son. the trial for david creato jr. was supposed to start today. his defense asked for more time for their investigation. the trial will now begin january 9th. creato has pled not guilty to murder and child endangerment charges. the boy was found in a wooded air after creato reported him missing last october. the prosecution alleges creato killed brendan because the boy was getting in the way of his relationship with his teenaged girlfriend. pennsylvania state police say the search for holly grim a mother who disappeared in 2013 has throwed a home in monroe county. authorities have been excar 58ing an area. police have collected more than a hundred bags of

charging station. it's all part of the department's effort to be more environmentally friendly and as "action news" reporter sarah bloomquist tells us today was an important step in that direction. >> reporter: this is the first of the hybrid vehicles assigned to their philadelphia police unveiled today as part of the city's continuing of the to get greener. >> we're not the first but we like to say that we're in the forward looking group of cities. >> reporter: the new vehicle is a ford fusion energy a standard gasoline hybrid with plug in capability. on a full charge the vehicle will travel 22 miles before the gasoline engine kicks in. so it can get up to the equivalent of 97 miles per gallon. >> this is an effort to expand the city's fleet of alternatively fueled vehicles and equipment over the next few years. >> reporter: four of them are on order now with 17 expected to arrive by january and eventually each district will be assigned a hybrid to be used as a community relations vehicle. you won't see these cruisers out on patrol. >> we do have future plans

76 with some sunshine. that's 5 degrees above normal. finally a mild day. wilmington 73. allentown 70 cape may 69 and trenton currently 71 degrees. satellite6 along with action radar showing high pressure is off the eastern seaboard and what this will do is bring us an easterly wind tomorrow. so that will help pull in more clouds. tonight partly cloudy, some patchy fog developing some inn some areas, 56 in the suburbs, 58 for center city. and tomorrow with that high pressure again we'll see morning fog, then clouds breaking for some sunshine. it won't be quite as warm as today with a high of 70 degrees and then as we head toward the end of the week, there are a couple of players i'll be watching and this really determine myths -- determines the track of hurricane matthew. a track over bermuda and it helps steer the storm closer to the u.s. coast. at the same time there's a trough a cold front moving in from the west and that could do a few things.

could it pull matthew up the coast. if it's strong enough it could kick it out to sea or if matthew is slow enough it could miss the connection altogether. a lot of questions with this storm. one thing that's not in question is the strength of this storm system. dangerous flooding, could receive up to 40-inches of rain in haiti which is taking it on the chin. 55,000 people still living in tents after the earthquake in 2010 so this is going to cause a lot of problems for that island. a storm surge up to 12 feet and this storm will be heading through the win ward path so what that means, it will avoid land as much as possible so it will still be a dangerous category three hurricane as it heads through bahamas thursday afternoon very close to the east coast of florida. now the later of the track brings it basically ashore over north carolina as a cat two hurricane by saturday afternoon. the big question for our region where does it led from -- head from there.
