women because he is a star. over the past hours there have been calls for him to step aside. and emergency meetings by the gop. we will have the full story and reaction in just in a moment. but on this friday night the big story on action news tonight is the life threatening storm lashing the southeast coastline at this very moment. hurricane matthew has weakened a bit, but it is still a dangerous category two storm with winds up to 110 miles an hour. it has claimed at least four lives in florida. and it has knocked out power to more than a million people. matthew has not even technically made land fall yet, skirting along the coastline, just out to sea. that may have spared even more devastating effects as it didn't strike the sunshine state's most heavily populated areas. now it's setting its sights on georgia and south carolina where they are expecting a significant

storm surge. we saw a wall of water broke through barriers and transformed streets into rivers. millions of people are under evacuation orders. and we are seeing the utter destruction in haiti where reports vary between 300 and 900 dead. cecily tynan joins us now with the latest information on the track of hurricane matthew. >> and, jim, hurricane matthew is now north of florida. weakened somewhat. it's still a category two hurricane. maximum sustained winds down to 105 miles per hour. it's 70 miles southeast of savannah, georgia. very close to land and continues to push some very heavy rain. this is some of the heaviest near the eye wall. see how close it is to savannah. moving to the north. if it continues continues that t will be hitting south carolina early tomorrow. now, i want to show you, this is a live picture that we do have from -- i was told from

savannah. and heavy rain there. could get 4 to 8 inches, and a 6 to 9 foot storm surge. the latest from the national hurricane center, maximum sustained winds, 105 miles an hour. weakening as it interacts with land. moving due north. and will continue the track and begin to make a turn to the northeast. it's a close call whether it will make land fall near charleston, south carolina, or skim the coast. it will move closer to north carolina as a cat one. and weakening to a tropical storm and perhaps returning to the bahamas in a much-weakened state next week. how we get all of this information, we have some amazing video out of the hurricane hunters that actually fly into the center of the storm. put this in play. there we go. you can see what these guys are dealing with. fly through the eye wall. collect atmospheric pressure, wind data, temperature data. they've got to have a very

common sense saying no woman should be described in these terms or talked about in this manner. and house speaker paul ryan said i am sickened. women are to be championed and revered, not objectified. trump was to attend a rally in wisconsin tomorrow. but ryan says trump will no longer be attending. he has disinvited. meanwhile, other political news, wikeleaks released emails from john podesta. some seem to have exerts of speeches that clinton has refused to release. one quote has her admitting that you need both a public and private face in politics. but if everybody is watching, she said, you know all of the back room discussions and deals, you know? then people get a little nervous to say the least.

so you need both a public and a private position. the obama administration is now for the first time directly blaming russia for hacks on the dnc. and other efforts to interfere with the presidential election. the report from homeland security and the director of national intelligence accuses russia's senior-most officials with authorizing the cyber intrusions. moscow dismissed the allegations without denying them saying the u.s. has attacked his website, vladimir putin's websites in the past. so make sure to tune into the second presidential debate this sunday at 9:00. it is a town hall. co-moderated by abc's martha raddatz. and you will be able to order an uber x while the legality is up in the air. a commonwealth judge made an

put a damper in their funds. >> when things go up, it hurts. because i work in every day and trying to make ends meet. the thing is, like, it's going to cost more. and we don't have the extra money to put out sometimes. >> reporter: the 23 cents a gallon hike would radically take new jersey's from the second lowes to the sixth highest. it was the cheaper gas that caused people to drive here in philadelphia. how is this going to impact your life? >> it's going to be harder to get gas. i can't get the gas here at the cheaper rate. >> reporter: and uber driver from northeast philadelphia. >> going to impact a lot. we come from philly to get gas over here every day. it's going to have to pay more for gas and tolls. i'm going to get gas in philly. >> reporter: the tax on diesel is going up, raising eyebrows on truck drivers. the tow truck driver doesn't

vice president joe biden stumped for hillary clinton today at bucks county community

college. and afterwards i talked with the vice president about clinton and how she is perceived by her critic. what is it about hillary clinton that incites so many people to feel antipathy, to feel this lack of trust? what is it about her? >> she's been in the bulls eye for 35 years. new mexico -- and i think what's happened is that when you're -- when you're the subject of constant attacks, instead of opening up more, the tendency is to close up more. and, for example, when i was -- i was reminded of this. i was asked -- it may have been by you, something about my son, bo. i started talking about bo and found myself fill up, not having control of my emotions. and people said, well, you know, i understand, joe, this is love for a son. when hillary is asked in new

everybody got hired right away for sure. wages rose slightly. a ground breaking ceremony at harken college to honor a former administer who passed away after a battle with cancer. sashi malik died at 42. they unveiled the space that will become a garden in her memory. she was instrumental in raising money for improvements to the library and theater. cecily tynan along with 6abc received a big honor in old city. the fire department presented cecily and channel 6 with the t.sneden duke award for the work with the operation save a life campaign. for the past 23 years channel 6 has teamed up to fire departments to hand out smoke detectors and nearly a million have been distributed and i know that is something that you are particularly proud of.

>> you know, and i said in my speech that our goal is for new year's eve for you to announce there were no fire fatalities in the philadelphia area that year. that's the goal to save lives. weather this weekend here, a little bit dreary tomorrow. certainly nothing like they were experiencing down to the south. storm tracker 6 live double scan, showing rain-free. we have a lot of clouds upstairs. rolled in through the day. and part of the reason why temperatures are slow to drop. acting like an atmospheric brant, trapping the heat. philadelphia not bad, allentown, 59. and cape may, currently 65 degrees. satellite 6 along with action radar showing the clouds streaming up from the south in advance of hurricane matthew. a little bit of a tropical connection there, joining up with the cold front to the west. that will squeeze some moisture out of the atmosphere in the form of first clouds and then showers on saturday.

so future tracker showing 9:00 tomorrow morning, step outside, pretty gray. pretty thick cloud deck. into the afternoon, showers breaking out. the latest models showing it's not going to be a lot of rain. and most of it will be concentrated along the coast. this is where it hangs the longest. sunday morning, showers along the coast, plenty of clouds. and then as the westerly winds behind the front kick in, clearing out the clouds from the west to the east as the day wears on. still a lot of clouds hanging along the coast most of the day. in the meantime hurricane matthew, it has weakened. still a category two. but down to 105 miles per hour. you can see how right now it's just about 70 miles southeast of savannah, georgia. and heavy rain and the box. that's a tornado watch box. sometimes the winds off the ocean, hits the land, causes friction and makes it kind of grind to a halt. and that can create a spin and create some tornadoes. so future tracker showing

tomorrow morning it will be just skimming the south carolina coast. either making land fall near charleston, or just staying a few miles offshore. very heavy rain with that. heavy rain across north carolina by saturday night and then heading out to sea. and again pushing down to the south. the big problem with the storm, storm surge, 6 to 9 feet, causing tremendous coastal flooding. and we have the hurricane warnings across the georgia coast, south carolina, and up to wilmington, north carolina. back at home, the exclusive forecast, not one of the prettiest days tomorrow. lots of clouds. a little bit up stable in the afternoon with some afternoon and evening showers. a high of 70. sunday, transition day, morning clouds, afternoon sun. breezy and cool. 66. columbus day, gorgeous. 65 degrees. a bit on the cool side. tuesday, partly sunny, 67, a try start to yom kippur. we have a possibility of showers on wednesday. otherwise, mostly cloudy,
