3:00 p.m., 65. same number by 5:00 p.m. that's the high of 67 degrees, lots of sunshine, jackets required this morning, comfortable weekend overall and then the summer-like temperatures arrive next week. i'll have the details in the exclusive accuweather seven-day forecast in just a bit. gray. >> look forward to it, criminals, thank you so much. >> new this morning, a fire forces three generations of a family from their philadelphia home including a 100-year-old woman. that fire happened in the are 1500 block of west pike street in nicetown before midnight. the 100-year-old woman started yelling for help. her granddaughter just returned home from a night shift as a nurse. she credits her grandmother's alertness with saving the entire family. >> she saved my life by screaming help and alerting me something was wrong. i saw her in the hallway i saw the flames coming from her bedroom and the house began to quickly fill up with black

smoke. >> pemberton guided her grandmother down the steps while her mother called 911. the family is staying with relatives. the investigators say they had no working smoke detecters in their home. philadelphia firefighters were called to the zoom automotive detailing and car wash on west olney street. extra trucks were needed to get the fire under control. no word of injuries or what started the fire. right now one man in critical condition after a shooting in wilmington, delaware. our cameras capture about a dozen police officers at the shooting scene at third and clayton streets after 11:00 p.m. investigators say a man in his 20s was shot several times. this morning there is no word 0en on who fired the shots or why. >> 6:03. if you're just waking up with us. a 17-year-old student is dead

and this morning the investigation continues into what happened. the students was at wordsworth academy a residential treatment program in philadelphia. the boy died thursday after a struggle with three adults. investigators are trying to determine if he had any preexisting medical condition. wordsworth academy helps children overcome emotional and academic challenges. new jersey gallons tax took a 23 cent hike, jeff chirico has more on when the increases go into effect and where the money is going. >> i'm not happy about it. >> i don't like it. it's not pleasant for my pocket. >> reporter: new jersey drivers are not holding back hours after governor chris christie made the gas tax hike official these folks are officially frustrated. >> it's ridiculous, a nickel or

dime, 23 cents is a lot of money for people. >> $30 to fill it up, a 23 cents each gallon it will go up to 45 bucks. >> reporter: the 23 cent gallon increase makes the state with the 6th highest gas tax. >> it's hard for people to get to work and make ends meet as far as their groceries and everyday necessities. the gas tax is expected to raise $16 billion over 8 years paying for roads and bridge construction projects something that is badly needed. >> if the money goes to that in the tax, it won't be the worst thing that happened to us, let's see what we can do to save money elsewhere. >> reporter: the new gas tax means the average driver will pay an extra 4 to $5 every time they fill up an extra tax. the tax goes into effect november 1. in runnymede, camden county,

jeff chirico channel 6 "action news." >> less than three weeks after the new jersey transit wreck left a person dead, things are starting to get bark to normal at the hoboken train station. the agency plans to run additional tracks monday morning and we'll post the updated schedule online at 10:00 p.m. trains entering the station will have to consult their approach speed -- cut their approach speed by half. the train's data recorder showed it was speeding up. one person was killed and 100 people hurt. if you have samsung galaxy note 7 smart phone do not take it on a plane because it's illegal. >> reporter: flyers have heard the warning. >> samsung galaxy note 7 phones are not to be powered on the flight. >> reporter: now the federal government is banning galaxy

samsungs note 7 from the flight. they are not allowed on the plane or in their bag. the move coming after a fire on a southwest flight. >> it started to smoke and sizzle and burn. >> reporter: the replacement models added to an earlier recall of the note 7 and the company stopping production altogether. >> forbidden for transport by aircraft. >> it includes a terminally insulated box. >> reporter: some airlines vbl give -- have been giving their flight crews fire containment bags. it's capable of containing up to 3200 degrees and look, the explosion is contained in the bag, but how will the ban be

enforced? >> banning these phones is a good step if they are a risk. flight attendants will not enforce that. if they are found, passengers will have their phones confiscated and face fines. if they find a phone, they will ask the flier to leave and come back without it. >> from our delaware newsroom investigators will know if mold is gone from an elementary school in the christiana school district. mold remediation was performed on three classrooms in wilmington. mold form after a water main break flooded a school over a summer and it was not cleaned up properly. every room in the school was tested. if the buildings itself was unhealthy. we have a plan to relocate our kids if need be. if we don't have to -- >> the mold problem is believed to be an isolated incident.

the school superintendent said they will put together a protocol so staff members will know what to look out for. >> 6:09 a.m. it was a rough start to the season for the flyers and bloody one. we'll look at how one young star got an injury in the first minutes of the game this season. residents in the northwest are recovering after a rare tornado touched down. >> reporter: we have places in the mid 30s, places like allentown could be 50 degrees warmer by the time we get into tuesday and wednesday. details in the exclusive accuweather seven-day forecast. what's for dinner tonight?

tornados touched down in oregon, one damaged a number of homes in a coastal town. everyone is okay, but roads are impassable, and thousands are without power and water. rain is lashing the coast this morning. >> reporter: kind of put that in prospective, the whole state averages one tornado a year. it's rare. it doesn't happen. >> everyone is okay. we're doing okay in the delaware and lehigh valleys this morning. it's chilly, you'll need a jacket in you're out and about first thing this morning. later this afternoon it should be comfortable out there with temperatures back in the 60s and later next week it's ridiculous

quite honestly with record-shattering high temperatures expected. let's flip it over to the radars, unlike last weekend we're crystal clear this morning. it will be like that all weekend long. temperatures a little bit below seasonal averages, monday, 65. tuesday, 67. wednesday the warm day, 72 and the numbers dropped off a little bit toward the end of the week. 68 degrees, and yesterday's high, 65 degrees. we're seeing temperatures in the low to mid 40s in the city. 46 in philadelphia. dewpoint, 42. the pressure is holding steady, 39.39 inches. the winds are light out of the north/northwest at 5 miles per hour. the northerly breeze is allowing the temperatures to cool off. this is an air mass straight from canada. the frost advisory remains in effect for the surrounding suburbs until 9:00 a.m. you have another hour or two to bring the tender vegetation

because you run the risk of losing it. hammonton, 38. cape may you're one of the warmer locations, 52 degrees. as far as leaf peeping this weekend, it's not a great weekend for it we're seeing color well north and west, patchy color around the immediate philadelphia area. vibrant color in the poconos. another week or two, we'll notice the change in the leaves as they start to turn. satellite and radar, crystal clear. the pattern is ready to change overall, we have big swings in the jet stream, we talk about the seesaw effect across the country, we're seeing that this weekend, all the storms and clouds and rain all that mess is out here to the mess, pacific northwest where they are getting hammered with ferocious wind and heavy rains. on the eastern seaboard we have

i would support legislation in pennsylvania that would ban abortion and i would suggest we have penalties for doctors who perform them. would you put people in jail for performing abortions? at some point doctors performing abortions i think would be subject to that sort of penalty. dscc is responsible for the content of this advertising.

clear, mostly sunny skies expected out there today, high temperatures topping out in the mid 60s. gray? >> okay, chris thank you so much for the update. new this morning, firefighters hurt while fighting flames in southwest philadelphia. this happened at a house on the 6900 block of grossbeak place at 2:30 a.m. the injured firefighter being treated at penn presbyterian hospital for minor injuries. another fire called suspicious kept crews busy on the 3000 block of north 5th street. the fire spread to the porch of the row home next-door. no injuries reported. new this morning, a woman hit by a philadelphia police car is recovering from her injuries. she was hit by a 25th district cruiser at front and erie in hunting park. the accident happened at 10:40 p.m., the woman was treated and released from the hospital. investigators have not released details about the moments leading up to that incident.

it was a violent night on the streets of camden, new jersey. we know this morning one man is dead after shooting outside a sports bar overnight. someone shot the victim on the corner of kagen and haddon avenues. he was pronounced dead at the hospital. police have not made any arrests in this case. this morning we're learning about what led to the crash that killed two teenagers on the boulevard. dann cuellar talk to a witness and friends remembering the young people who tragically lost their lives. >> reporter: killed on the accident on the boulevard, 16-year-old maggie goloff and 19-year-old friend. >> maggie was maggie. when she came in she bright bedment the room. she was an awesome girl. >> reporter: both of them were riding in the back seat of a

hyundai driven by an 18-year-old friend. the driver was rushing to temple hospital to see his father who was assaulted during a robbery. the car ran a stop signal and hit was hit by the suv driven by a 54-year-old woman. >> he ran the light he hit the lady on this light. >> reporter: both drivers suffered minor injuries, friends say the two people in the back seat who ended up being killed is difficult to understand. >> she just got a new kitten from her friend did he desiree d darlene. >> he he feels a good person,e had a good heart, his parents raised him right. he is one in a million. >> he used to be a lovely person he is honest and everything -- >> reporter: i'm very, very sorry. >> he is like family to me.

we turn to the race for the white house, donald trump campaigned in new hampshire and maine today as trump continues to deny allegations of unwanted sexual advances for a dozen women. two more women came forward yesterday including a former contestant on from the apprentice, she said trump kissed her and touched her breast in a private room. another woman said he groped her as he sat on a couch in the 1990s. >> i was sitting alone in a club, i don't sit alone, i was sitting alone by myself like this, and then i went -- >> trump's democratic opponent hillary clinton was fundraising in seattle yesterday, she told her audience that this election cycle has been in her words

hurricane matthew have risen to 41. the body of a man who refused to leave his home when floodwaters rose was found in his water-logged north carolina home. storm damage destroyed more than a million structures putting tens of thousands of people out of work temporarily. estimates from goldman sachs say matthew caused ten billion
