"action news" has confirmed tonight that a car accident involving the director of emergency services in delaware county at truitt is being reinvestigated amid reports truitt may have left the scene. chad pradelli is live in media with the full story. chad, what are the details. >> reporter: yeah, jim a lot of questions need to be answered in this case. chief among them, should ed truitt have been charged with hit-and-run. according to the traffic citations and sources close to the investigation, the director of emergency services in delaware county ed truitt was driving down route one south in middletown when he rear-ended the victim at the 352 off ramp. the victim was driving her daughter to day care. sources say the victim told police she pulled off on 352 into the day-care center. truitt allegedly followed but didn't get out of his car.

circled around and drove off. the victim got the tag number to his county issued chevy at a he hoe. pennsylvania state police say they followed up on the investigation and tracked truitt at his county office just down the road on 352. law issued two traffic citations. one for failing to provide information or render aid to those involved in an accident. and following too closely behind. state police wouldn't say why he wasn't charged with hit-and-run. but says the traffic citations are being withdrawn and the circumstances surrounding the crash are now being re-examined. late this afternoon after being contacted by "action news," county counsel met with the 79-year-old truitt. counsel released a statement that reads mr. truitt has requested medical leave and is off duty from his position as director of the department of emergency services. and i spoke to truitt by phone

just a few moments ago. he says any allegations of hit-and-run are unfounded. he says after hitting the victim he drove about a block away got out of his car assessed that he had no damage, looked for the other driver and her car, didn't see them and then left and went to work. again, state police are rehe examining this case. as for any injuries there are no serious injuries in this case. i am told by a source that the victim did have to replace her bumper. again, a court date at last check was set for november 30th for ed truitt. live in media, clad pradelli channel6 "action news." jim. >> chad thank you. this is where it happened today. the 2100 block of east allegheny avenue in the kensington section of philadelphia. a truck pulled into a drive way and the driver found a burned body in an area leading to some railroad tracks. "action news" reporter bob brooks is live at the scene tonight and bob, what are police saying? >> reporter: jim, good evening. this could be a lengthy investigation.

there is any other much left of this body. it was found burned and wrapped in a blanket in the alley that is just behind me here and i spoke with a lot of concerned neighbors who say it's gotten out of hand back here in this alley, the drug use back here has become rampant. we're told it's an alley that has been overrun by drug users and at times worse. today a body was found wrapped in a blanket and burned. that's what prompted the investigation just off allegheny avenue. numbers we spoke with said it was only a matter of time before an incident like this happened. >> a lot of bad stuff. we have never saw anything like it. >> i know lots of drug activities is going on in here. >> reporter: some fear it could be them next. >> it happened to that person it can happen to somebody -- me or my grandchildren. >> reporter: detectives say they got the call around 8:00 a.m. a truck driver dropping off a delivery here at the factory made the gruesome discovery. neighbors say this just proves their point things are getting out of hand. walking through this al he lee and i'm looking around and you see some of those things people are concerned about

according to testimony today, new jersey governor chris christie knew about the lane closures of the george washington bridge before they happened. bridget kelly the woman in that sketch we just showed you took the stand in her own defense in the so-called bridgegate trial today. kelly was a former aide to christie and testified she had informed christie of a so-called traffic study which caused lane closures near a month before they actually happened. christie has said he was unaware of the alleged crime. kelly faces charges that she helped plot the closures for political revenge against a player who would not endorse christie. >> ♪ the campaign trail is winding its way through bucks county tonight. donald trump will hold a rally in newtown at 7:30.
