that is the dramatic change in the process over taking the philadelphia area. with gusty winds, it's going to feel even colder. football fans were already beginning to bundle up tonight after donning summer wear earlier today. friday night and the big story is the summer to late fall in the blink of an eye. let's get to meet yols cecily tynan at the big board. we have a change in the weather. >> we certainly do. this is a weather whiplash. a powerful cold front is moving through and bringing scattered showers to our region. another batch is moving through overnight. flooding rains in new england. the impact in our weather is the change in temperatures. ahead of it, we had five days in the 80s, including wednesday and thursday, record highs, 86 on wednesday, thursday, 81. now, temperatures are falling

quickly. we hit 80 degrees earlier today. we have dropped 60 degrees or dropped 20 degrees down to 60. reading, 56. allentown, 55. the poconos, right now, 46 degrees. tomorrow morning, you will feel the change in the air. this is what to expect through the day tomorrow. windchills in the low 40s in some of our area, windchills in the 30s. scattered showers until lunchtime. the winds will be howling all day long. more than 40-mile-per-hour gusts. a lot of leaves will be ripped out. it could be slippery with the leaves down. could have power lines down as well. we will see the return of sunshine. that fall chill will stick around. more details on that coming up in the full accuweather forecast. jim? >> thank you. the same front moving through the area caused widespread flooding in central pennsylvania. we will not get anything like that. storms turn roads into rivers,

homecoming weekend is under way. "action news" reporter, jeanette reyes is live at westchester university. even for students, jeanette, it is gone from dismay to delight in the course of one day. >> reporter: jim, students couldn't have been happier to return to class. more than 100,000 students were left in limbo after they couldn't hash out a last minute dial. tonight, suddenly the strike ended with bothsides making concessions. >> i didn't know how long the strike was going to be. i thought maybe another week or so. hearing the agreement finally achieved. i'm excited to go to class. >> reporter: on the campus tonight, a collective sigh of relief after a tentative deal was finally reached on day three of the state system's first walkout in 34 years. >> i feel better now that they have an agreement. >> i'm happy. i want to get back to learning. >> reporter: it disrupted

classes at 14 units bringing the semester to a halt. hanging in the balance, financial aid and grades. >> a deal where both sides got things they wanted. >> reporter: the governor helped them come to an agreement. few details are being released on it. in a statement, officials said, in part, among other things it will provide faculty with pay increases and allow the state system cost savings. details will be available upon final approval. withdrawal would have required temporary faculty to teach an extra class a semester. the deal would only last until 2018. do you think it will happen again? >> i hope not. this is the first time ever. i hope it's the last time. >> reporter: jim, students were understandably concerned about the impact it would have had on

are investigating a massive cyber attack that blocked millions of computers from logging on. sites like twitter, netflix, spotify were affected this morning. a vigil was held to broaden the powers of police officers in pennsylvania to investigate the immigration status of residents. the bill would impose economic sanctions on a still considered a so-called sanctuary city. philadelphia is one such city that grants sanctuary to undocumented residents. the bill increases racial profiling. an organization that helps people with hiv and aids marked a milestone today. action wellness, which used to be called action aids is marking 30 years of service. they give hiv testing,
