warnings this afternoon. the one thing we have going for us is that that is typically the time that things begin to cool down so the instability might not be as great as if the system was coming through right now. there are a few showers that are showing up in johnston county and also northern wake county and a few just between rocky mount and wilson but nothing terribly exciting at the moment. here is the broader view. you can see a band of showers and a few thunderstorms moving through the mountains. right now, no warnings in effect along this line. there were earlier. if we actually time lapse that, you can see over last hours that we did have some showers popping up in the northern mountains and one isolate warning in central north carolina. what we'll be watching is the circulation there in the upper atmosphere moving out of tennessee into kentucky.

clr up that mess on i-40 yesterday and today, there was still plenty of work left to be done. >> this vehicle was in an accident on top of another vehicle and squeezed into the back of another vehicle. >> reporter: if you are having a hard time picking what robert should help. this is one of 134 vehicles that crash ad long i-40 in a massive afternoon pile-up. >> there is your main impact, your main accident and then there are a lot of sub gent accidents where people are reactioning to the initial wreck -- subsequent accidents. it started on i-40 eastbound at around 33:06:78 as emergency crews worked to clear the eastbound lanes, drives headed west started to slow down leading to several other collisions over a four-mile portion of i-40. by the time turner showed one his tow truck, there was chaos all around. >> every time i went you out to
