they just pointed out he was not killed on campus and the injuries occurred before. you can see that an open car is surrounded by crime scene tape out that way. police say the victim flagged down a driver somewhere else and that that driver took him to montgomery college for some reason we don't know. we're getting those answers. we'll continue to bring you updates on our nbc washington app. >> thank you, angie. now to the funeral of ashley guindon. the 28-year-old killed on her first day on the job. police officers gathered at the memorial chapel for the viewing and funeral. two officers were wounded. guindon did not survive. what we're hearing from the folks who are in line here who showed up to pay their respects, some of them are even retired but this is -- your membership is in a family that you never leave whether you're active on the job or not. and it's at a time like this when they get circumspect about the job. >> it's a dangerous job. you never know when god's going to call your number in these jobs. we just have to keep on doing. people don't recognize we have to do that job every day. everybody's got go back to work. people can just give us a little more help and respect. >> the funeral is under way. from here guindon's remains will be taken to her home state of massachusetts where they'll hold new funeral. she'll be buried in that state, the state of her birth.
