mayor. who he is blaming for the water crisis. new developments in the shooting of a prince george's county police officer. we're learning more about what will happen to the men police are holding responsible for officer jacai colson's death. and what they were doing during the shooting. megan fitzgerald has some new information from court documents. good morning. >> reporter: good morning, barbara. yeah. according to those court documents, when the brothers arrived here at police headquarters, it says the alleged gunman, michael ford, got out of the car, he didn't know which building to go to. his brothers directed him to the police department. we're also learning about statements made between officers and the brothers in the middle of that gunfight. >> reporter: it was sunday afternoon at around 4:30 when police say 22-year-old michael ford opened fire resulting in the death of prince george's county police detective, jacai colson, while

his brothers, malik and elijah ford looked on. >> they had every opportunity to call 911. they had every opportunity to seek medical help. they did nothing. >> reporter: now we're learning how much investigators say the brothers did to help orchestrate the ambush. court documents say 21-year-old malik ford drove his brothers to the police station, while elijah recorded his brother's will to die at the hands of police officers. when they arrived to the district 3 station, documents say "when michael headed to the wrong building, his brothers directed him to the police station." that's when prince george's county police chief says michael started shooting. >> fired at this citizen's car. fired at this citizen's car. fired at an ambulance. >> all while investigators say elijah was filming the entire rampage. >> that image is of one of the four brothers standing by, taking no action on a

his brother, shooting at prince george's county police officers. >> reporter: during the shooting investigators say officers approached the brothers who were sitting inside their car and asked where the gunman was. police say the brothers said they didn't know. but we're learning that michael never left their sight. court documents saying as soon as their brother michael was shot both brothers fled the scene. unimaginable action that led to the death of one of prince george's county's finest. >> michael ford is still in the hospital recovering. once he's released he will be formally charged. the two brothers are being held without bond. they are due back in court tomorrow afternoon. back to you. >> thank you. this morning we're learning what officer colson meant to his loved ones. he followed his grandmother's footsteps and went into law enforcement. his family says they're having a hard time believing he's really gone. >> my wife is screaming, screaming, screaming. i don't know

he wasn't a good kid. he was a great kid. >> he graduated from high school, went to college. did everything the right way. >> reporter: officer colson grew up in philadelphia, went to college in virginia. he just celebrated four years with the department and would have turned 29 years old this week. three police officers now recovering from a shooting, one chicago police officer still in the hospital. we learned two others were released today. the officers confronted a man last night who shot them. one of the officers shot the man. he died. all the officers are expected to recover. a scary situation in frederick, maryland. look at this photo of a car that drove into a train. working to find out why this all happened. the frederick county sheriff's hospital said this happened on jamesville road around 4:00 this

part of the complete breakfast . the globetrotters will recognize a 107-year-old lady that you may recognize as grandma virginia. >> still dancing at 107. >> you'll remember this video from earlier this year when virginia mclaren danced with the obamas at the white house. this afternoon the harlem globetrotters will honor her service at a school in northwest washington where she still volunteers. they'll teach grandma virginia some moves and hand out some tickets to upcoming games. the children at root charter school will get to see that. >> she's amazing. not only still dancing but still thinking. >> completely with it. she keeps

let's check on the weather, tom? weather? do we really wanted to hear it? more rain? >> not today. most of it is done. we have showers on the eastern shore that are pulling away. a few sprinkles in montgomery county, northern prince george's county near bowie. a few others near fauquier. otherwise things clear out today. temperatures in the low 60s. sunshine breaking out by later this afternoon. tomorrow, maybe some fog in the morning, low 50s. afternoon highs low 70s with some sunshine. a small chance of an isolated shower wednesday afternoon. then on thursday, a greater chance of afternoon showers after a little sun in the morning. it will be near 50 in the morning, near 60 in the afternoon. cooler weather on friday, highs in the 50s. increasing clouds on saturday. could get some showers saturday afternoon and evening. highs low 50s. sunday, chilliest day, highs in the 40s. monday we dry out with highs, low 50s. >>ll
