warrant. we're just getting new video into the newsroom of a person of interest in a d.c. assault investigation. police want to speak to the man in the green hat. sexual assault happened march 18 on martin luther king avenue in southeast d.c. police say a victim was sexually assaulted by one person while another held the victim at gunpoint. after the assault, the suspects took personal items from the victim and ran off. it is 4:30. more pushback from neighbors ton a $60 million plan to move homeless families from d.c. shelters to around the district. d.c. mayor muriel bowser wants to close that site and move to shelters. >> this plan is fundamentally flawed. was concocted behind closed doors. it's outrageously expensive.

more than 30 people died in those terror attacks last month. well, the federal government has about 20 days to anxious a virginia man's efforts to get off the no fly list. gohad mohammed is a u.s. citizen from somalia. yesterday, he joined a class action suit involving thousands of muslim-americans. the lawsuit suggests the no fly list is motivated by ethnic profiling. we first told you about him in 2011 that's when he originally challenge ed the no fly list in court. the challenge came after he was detained. his brother is on the fbi's most wanted terror list. weeks after the terror in brussels, safety in our airport is on the agenda in a senate committee.

peter messinger plants to testify. president obama is expected to announce a plan for the zika plan of money set up for the ebola virus. the associated press says the money will go to treat people infected with zika, fund vaccine research and combat mosquitos that spread the virus. dr. anthony fauci spoke to news4 about the ongoing research. he has a warning for pregnant women. >> do not travel in areas in which there's an outbreak, that's the most important thing. the other thing is we know it's sexually transmitted. that's a fact. that's not a theory. that's a fact. >> virus can cause serious birth defects if it infected pregnant women. all have been linked to travel. >> the irs headquarters in downtown d.c. wl

for the rest of the week. a fire in the basement monday affected the air handling system. the irs says telework with the employees are expected to work remotley. no other officers are affected by the closure. and the tax proceeding is still under way. is wildfires are once again flaring up in kansas and oklahoma. residents in the small town of freedom are being asked to evacuate. and that is the same spot where not just one month ago wildfires scorched hundreds of square miles. the national weather service warned most of the state was under critical to extremely critical fire conditions due to dry air, warm temperatures and stra strong winds, eun. it's a story you'll only see on news4. d.c. firefighters are rallying around one of their own after she lost everything in a fire easter su

senators ted cruz and bernie sanders wake up today with wins in wisconsin but are the front-runners fazed by the change? nbc's tracie potts has a look at the bigger picture live from capitol hill. tracie, let's start with the democrats. what does this mean for hillary clinton and bernie sanders? >> well, 2 certainly means sanders is going on the momentum from hillary clinton. trying to take over the delegates and maybe even win the state of new york in less than two weeks. sanders won with a lot of young people going to the polls in wisconsin. being able to sign up. out of state students being able to sign up in the primaries and a lot of men that turned up to vote. he, by the way, celebrated that win in wyoming. already focused forward to those caucuses this weekend. hillary clinton in brooklyn insisting that she can win her home state. and as we have seen in recent weeks, talking a lot more about donald trump and bernie n

cruz won big making it harder for trump to take the win before the summer convention? >> well, he did, not only for the stop-trump movement tweeting that he is trying to hijack the party. trump's campaign tweeting that cruz is trying to steal the nomination. trump had to downplay wisconsin but it certainly was a bit of a road block the fact that he was not able to win. still out there with the most delegates but slowed by the loss in wisconsin. and a quick recap of the delegate count starting with the lead here. trump in the lead with 753 delegates followed by cruz at 514. and john kasich at 114. the win last night makes it harder for trump to reach 1237. to the democrats clinton is still far ahead of sanders,

a fire investigation in montgomery county has turned into a suspicious death investigation. 63-year-old steven skalabrum was found dead in the basement after an intense fire. the death is being investigated as a homicide. atf, montgomery county police and fire investigators searched the home for evidence. he worked as a jeweler. friends told news4, he had problems with drug abuse but recently had turned his life around. a here row that is now denise madison will always remember her husband corey. >> he knew that he was taking the danger and he was luring it away from us. there's no question in my mind, from the moment he came into my life, he was continuously trying to do everything he could to protect me and our children. >> yesterday,

denise's ex-husband to life in prison for the murder of corey madison in ashburn. denise said the sentence doesn't bring any peace but does make it better. she gave birth to their first child eight months after the death. last thursday, one of the woman went to the other's office without permission. that's when d.c. police said the incident started. one woman ended up on the floor. the defendant is expected in court on assault charges in may. today, judge merrick garland is back on capitol hill meeting with senators as he tries to move his nomination to the supreme court forward. he will meet with three democratic senators including illinois senator dick durbin and california

feinstein. so far, three gop senators have broken with leadership and have met with garland. the controversy continues to brew over george mason university's plan to rename its law school after the late supreme court justice antonin scalia. according to "the washington post" the democratic legislators from northern virginia, ten of them, say the name change is, quote, disturbing. they question the link between a $20 million anonymous donation and the new name. the name change still needs state approval. there's a multimillion-dollar lawsuit against "rolling stone" for that retracted article about a gang rape at uva. now the student who told the magazine that she was a rape survivor is appearing in court. the woman was only identified as jackie in the piece. tomorrow, she'll testify in a confidential deposition hearing. well, you can use and possess marijuana in the di

smoke it in public. the d.c. council voted 7 to 6 to permanently ban marijuana outside of homes even though it's legal for adults to use. advocates are not happy for this decision they say the ban hurts pe people in public housing. d.c. has one of the toughest laws in the nation when it comes to synthetic drugs. the council outlawed any synthetic drugs and it makes it much easier for police and prosecutors to arrest someone for distributing the drugs. to help you understand the dangerous drugs, the news4 i-team created a synthetic drug page. maryland workers are closer to earning seven paid sick days a year. it would mean one hour of sick time for every 30 hours
