injuries. and a man is dead after being stabbed on kennedy street. if you have any official that can help officials track someone down, give them a call. another arcing insulator to fire brought metro service to a holt, this time at the friendship heights station. firefighters worked ventilate the smoke. train operator actually reported the problem. the train was stopped at tenially up to and everyone got the off. riders are wiwere put on buses. no one was hurt. this morning 19-year-old volunteer firefighter kevin swain is back home with his family. he spent more than a week in the hospital after he and another firefighter were shot on the job. his fellow firefighters by his side as he left the hospital on saturday.

get around. an there is a new transportation survey that shows most people in this area feel that is our biggest challenge. after jobs, after the economy, after crime, after terrorism. >> you've mentioned surprise. this one really surprised me because usually, you know, especially with politicians, you say we'll deal with crime, education, have better schools. but you look at this survey and to your point, it says traffic, by 33%. i think it's 10% when you get down to crime and education. so that it tells you specific to this area, a couple weeks ago we talked about a report that showed d.c. was two in terms of traffic. but i think the issue here, you're going to have all three jurisdictions or all three jurisdictions will have to get together to try to solve this. it's just not a problem in d.c., it's a problem with maryland, in virginia, obviously a lot of government work hes coming to d.c. but this is a regional i

welcome back. a local group says social media is a bigger problem these days than gangs. a security coordinator for montgomery county public schools blames social media for a lot of the violence that we're seeing now in schools. the recent stabbing of a teen at a d.c. metro station, allegedly started with and online altercation. dave, it is no surprise that social media is becoming sort of the new staging ground for school yard brawls. >> threatening taunts, tweets that unnerve people. you feel like you are being pursued. one young man left -- his mother got him out here into richmond, i believe and get the guy can get him on the internet and scare the heck of him down there. and they are vee, very concerned about this and they're not quite sure what to do about it. >> it's hard to argue that it doesn't play role, but i think the counterargument would be it plays one part of the role.

it's a new day. so we all know that. and most of these young people have ways to communicate in a positive and a negative way. i think the question is if it's recognized that social media is a greater cause of this violence, then what do the schools do. what do parents do. how do you get control of it. we've talked about this before. yes, you need to know what your kids are doing, but if many of these schools allow these kids to bring these guys idevices in can schools do. >> and they don't have to use the devices in school. >> and it speaks to -- and i think i mentioned this last time. it speaks to what katcathy lani was attempting to do when she said the way we used to investigate gangs is physically infiltrate. and now you have to change to social media. you will have to now monitor the internet.

road closures in and around the area will be closed until about 10:30 this morning. more than a year after a pedestrian bridge collapsed on to metro's tracks, a replacement is finally expected to go in. construction is set to again today on the bridge that connects college park with berwyn heights. the work will affect the green line in that area. the bridge will not open to the public until fencing and electricity can be installed. right now firefighters are still working to contain a fire raging in shenandoah national park. so far flames have consumed at least 9,000 acres since april 15. fire crews from across the country have been called into fight the fire. there is worry that strong winds and no rain in the forecast could make things even worse. the national park service suspects the fire may have been started by someone within the park. gop frontrunner donald trump making its way to maryland ahead of tuesday's primary. he's stumping in hagerstown this morning, this as he and the f

it ook hours to battle these intense flames at an arizona construction site, but this morning the fire is now out. officials say it happened where they were building an apartment complex. heavy black smoke clouded the sky. could be seen for miles. the cause of the fire is still unknown. nearly eight months after two florida teens were lost at sea, the boat they were in was recovered. the florida fish and wildlife commission now confirms that their boat was found off the coast of bermuda. officials say a ship spotted the 19-foot boat in march. two 14-year-olds went missing last july during a fishing trip. the parents of the boys say personal items including a phone were found on that boat. developing right now, it's being called the worst earthquake in seven decades. the death toll from ecuador's 7.8 magnitude quake has risen to 654. 58 are sl

there are questions this morning about whether north korea actually fired a submarine missile. north korea claims that it conducted a successful test off its east coast. but experts say it is unlikely that the nation has an operational submarine that can fire multiple missiles. they say north korea is making progress on the technology. those are army humvees falling from the sky. this happened in germany after a routine exercise went wrong earlier this week. someone posted this video online and it soon went viral. jim miklaszewski has more on the army's investigation. >> reporter: it was a routine exercise, a u.s. army heavy air drop over germany. performed thousands of times. so what could go wrong? rn
