welcome back. a local group says social media is a bigger problem these days than gangs. a security coordinator for montgomery county public schools blames social media for a lot of the violence that we're seeing now in schools. the recent stabbing of a teen at a d.c. metro station, allegedly started with and online altercation. dave, it is no surprise that social media is becoming sort of the new staging ground for school yard brawls. >> threatening taunts, tweets that unnerve people. you feel like you are being pursued. one young man left -- his mother got him out here into richmond, i believe and get the guy can get him on the internet and scare the heck of him down there. and they are vee, very concerned about this and they're not quite sure what to do about it. >> it's hard to argue that it doesn't play role, but i think the counterargument would be it plays one part of the role.

it's a new day. so we all know that. and most of these young people have ways to communicate in a positive and a negative way. i think the question is if it's recognized that social media is a greater cause of this violence, then what do the schools do. what do parents do. how do you get control of it. we've talked about this before. yes, you need to know what your kids are doing, but if many of these schools allow these kids to bring these guys idevices in can schools do. >> and they don't have to use the devices in school. >> and it speaks to -- and i think i mentioned this last time. it speaks to what katcathy lani was attempting to do when she said the way we used to investigate gangs is physically infiltrate. and now you have to change to social media. you will have to now monitor the internet.

road closures in and around the area will be closed until about 10:30 this morning. more than a year after a pedestrian bridge collapsed on to metro's tracks, a replacement is finally expected to go in. construction is set to again today on the bridge that connects college park with berwyn heights. the work will affect the green line in that area. the bridge will not open to the public until fencing and electricity can be installed. right now firefighters are still working to contain a fire raging in shenandoah national park. so far flames have consumed at least 9,000 acres since april 15. fire crews from across the country have been called into fight the fire. there is worry that strong winds and no rain in the forecast could make things even worse. the national park service suspects the fire may have been started by someone within the park. gop frontrunner donald trump making its way to maryland ahead of tuesday's primary. he's stumping in hagerstown this morning, this as he and the f
