donald trump will make two stops in florida and mike pence heads to north carolina. here at the live desk, the man who helped spark the 1960 anti-vietnam movement has died. his radical views made tom hayden one of the famous anti-war activists. he died sunday night in santa monica, california from complications from a lengthy illness. he spent 20 years serving in california for his previous marriage to actress jane fonda who he connected with after she joined the anti-war movement. he was 76 years old. it is 5:03. we're getting a look at the candlelight memorial that continues to grow in los angeles where the victims of a deadly palm springs bus crash. 13 were killed and 30 others were injured.

learn more about what caused the tour bus to crash into the back of a semi truck. members of of the ntsb will give an update this afternoon. the tour bus was traveling fast when it slammed into the back of the tractor trailer early sunday morning. they headed to los angeles from the casino. we could learn more about the sexual abuse case against a prince george's school bus aide. he was indicted last week molestation charges involving two children. prosecutors say surveillance video shows him sitting next to two students with special needs and touching them inappropriately. it happened last november and this past may. we have dramatic video into the live desk of a deadly plane crash. you can see the remnants of the accident here. there was a huge explosion.

this is in malta after a plane crashed after midnight from malta international airport. witnesses saying that it looked like at one point the plane tipped over to the right 57bd crashed into the ground right after lift off. we'll bring you more as we get it. eun? >> thank you. now to this developing story out of germantown. police say one male is in critical condition and a suspect is in custody after a stabbing at a party. they say it last night. the suspects stole a get away car and abandoned it. the person was arrested around 9:00 on charity lane. no word on a motive. fredrick police are investigating a double stabbing. two men were found stabbed in the area of south market street and carol creek way early saturday morning. they're expected to survive. colin edwin lee who you see here of middle town has been arrested and is facing multiple charges

set a homeless man on fire during a possible robbery. the man is now recovering from third degree burns. police say he was attacked by two men on 14th street around 11:00 saturday night. he told police that they asked for money and when he said he didn't have any, they knocked him to the ground and set his clothes on fire. if you have any information, contact police. this is a reminder for drivers to move over for emergency vehicles on the shoulder. it is the law in maryland and virginia. college park police say a parked maryland state trooper, someone slammed into his parked cruiser on the interstate on the inner loop of the beltway near route 1. at last check, the trooper and other driver were expected to be okay. investigators are looking into whether alcohol played a role. this morning, we're working to learn more about a citizen complaint that led to a d.c. police officer's arrest. this is the top story right now

merged earlier this year. today for the first time in nearly 150 years, the two animal welfare organizations will have a new name. the two organizations cared for more than 60,000 animals every year. news4 will be at the announcement this morning at 11:00 a.m. covering montgomery county this morning. a committee of the county council will discuss a report that looked at the impact of programs that occupy the time of students before and after school. it found that out of school time performance. it is part of a project aimed to help improve the council's understanding of those programs, specifically how public finances could be used to expand them in the county. in news 4 your health this morning, concerning youth football players that take repeated plows to the head, researchers at wakefield university record -- wake forest university studied football players.

approach here. that is reassuring for men putting more aggressive treatments on hold until they're absolutely necessary. today drivers will get a chance to weigh in on a plan to help ease congestion on 395. more express lanes are in the works in alexandria and arlington. news4 transportation reporter adam tuss is live now to tell what it will mean for your commute. adam, good morning. another toll facility is being planned. see the center lanes, that is the hov facility that will be converted into express lanes. will there are two lanes there right now. what the state wants to do is change that into three lanes and then if you're an hov, you can ride for free. fewer than three people, you get a chance to pay to use the lanes. that is the way the express lanes use on 95 and the beltway as well. there is a public hearing about all of this today.

the way up to the d.c. line and if you want to weigh in about it, you have a chance at wakefield high school in arlington. that public hearing gets under way 6:30 to 8:30 tonight. this is going to be a big change. northern virginia is basically trying to create a whole express lane network. 95, 395, the beltway, 66, this seems to be moving forward. construction starts in a couple that. back to you. >> adam tuss, thank you. it is the first monday morning rush hour for a new regional bus service to help people get to popular destinations in prince george's county. the nh2 links national harbor with old town alexandria. buses stop every half hour along shops and restaurants, commuter lots and the future mgm casino and connects with metro line. the buses run from 6:00 a.m. until 1:00 a.m. every day.
