there's a lot in play with a few days to go. steve handlesman is tracking the state of the race. where does it stand, steve? >> one sub text to the tra nettic activity is concerned about voter intimidation. the southern poverty law center and the u.s. justice department here in washington are concerned because race has inflicted this contest where a few votes could make a huge difference including the biggest with a republican nominee today made more unsupported charges against hillary clinton. >> reporter: florida, florida, florida. donald trump went to jacksonville, now tied in the polls in this battleground state. >> hillary clinton has engaged in a massive, far-reaching criminal and equally far-reaching coverup.

and free delivery. at hhgregg. new developments in the deadly baltimore bus accident. the driver of the school bus was not authorized to drive a commercial vehicle. the school bus crashed into an mta bus earlier this speak week. a spokesman says glen chapel's medical certification expired august 31st. the department sent chapel two letters saying he was no longer

commercial motor vehicle. that certificate is required by federal law. chapel died on tuesday along with the mta bus driver and four passengers. investigators believe speed was a a factor in the crash. a police officer shot himself in the foot while trying to fend off a raccoon. this happened around noon on horse stable road. he had to be rushed to the hospital. mark segraves has more on exactly what happened. >> it happened near this community garden here in rock creek park when someone saw what they thought was arab bid raccoon. they went to the stables to report it. and that's when an officer came here skpen countered that raccoon. according to police they say the raccoon attacked that police officer who drew his gun and fired multiple shots. the officer mistakingly shot

on my facebook page today, it had gotten pretty serious. a business leader in rozalin are giving a thumbs up to plans for a gondola across the potomac. this evening you've got a chance to weigh in. a study discovered such a system could work seamlessly and cut out 100,000 bus trips across the bridge every year. some suggest locations for gondola stations are along lynn street and near what is the exxon gas station. the gondola would take four minutes per trip with 8 to 12 people in each cabin and arrive every 20 seconds to a minute. add all that up it comes out to 6500 trips a day. the study will be discussed tonight at 6:00 at the georgetown theater. >> someone who sits in traffic on key bridge all too often, i kind of like the sound of any

both candidates is the affordable care act act. here they are during the second presidential debate on october 9th. >> we have to repeal it and replce it with something absolutely much less expensive and something that works where your plan can be tailored. >> i want very much to save what works and is good about the affordable care act. but we have to get cost down. we have to provide some additional help to small businesses. >> with rising health care premiums expected in 2017, obamacare has been front and center this week. but there are other points in play when it comes to health care. with that in mind, we asked the editor to break down where the candidates stand. you have been covering this. health care is such an important issue and one of the hardest things to understand.

>> prescription drugs, where does hillary clinton stand on that? >> she wants to cap co-pays to $250 a month. no one will have to pay more than $250 a month for drug prescriptions. that's a significant step. on a larger macrolevel, she wants to turn medicare, which is a large chunk of the prescription puchasing consumers in the country. she wants to turn it into the to say that walmart is the 300-pound gorilla. it forces its providers to keep their costs in check to lower their costs to the benefit of consumers. she wants to e empower the medicare u program in order to do that in the same way. >> i'm thinking that might control things like the epi pen situation. >> one other thing on that point.

guys, clear the clear the building now. >> sheriffs deputies in florida were training on a driving track when they noticed a single engine plane flying very low. instructors ordered everybody off the track. that plane landed and then skidded into a chain link fence near parked cars and the training facility building. the plane sustained significant damage, but luckily no one was injured.

scratch. a deadly police shooting caught on camera in south carolina made national headlines and led to new scrutiny about how police interact with african-american men. >> today we started to hear testimony in the former police officer charged in that it case. he's claiming it was self-defense. >> reporter: former south carolina police officer michael slager is on trial for what prosecutors say is the murder of walter scott. wrong. >> reporter: slager shooting death of scott in april 2015 was captured on dramatic cell phone video that stunned the nation. the officer firing eight shots as scott ran away following a traffic stop for a broken tail light. it also shows slager allegedly moving evidence closer to scott's body. >> we have a bunch of witnesses lined up.
