just after 5:30 in morning, police say someone called in a report of a person on barrett street dragging a body through the woods. investigators say that it was a trick to lure them to the area where the responders found the man in the woods with a gun. the man was suicidal and told police that he wanted them to shoot them. police negotiated with him for 2.5 hours before the s.w.a.t. team was sent in to intervene. a local woman says she found two dogs abandoned just off route 221 in bedford. she called bedford county animal control, but the operator said that they weren't open on the weekend and just to leave the animals there.
