rate of diagnosis goes from 1.5 up to 2.9%. when you think about it, there's no blood test for adhd. there's no brain scan. you're doing checklists. they're looking for students who have inability to concentrate. they'll be looking -- when you think about those early years, one-year difference in age between, 5 and 6-year-olds. >> what should a parent do if they're being told adhd? >> as a pediatrician, we look at checklists. you want the parents to fill out checklists and the teacher. you look for problems not just in school but problems at home, problems with peers. if you're only seeing it in school, maybe it's a school-readyiness issue.
