him. the suspect tried carjacking a publix employee right here in the parking lot, threatening he had a knife. he beat the man and took off on foot. the police thief says several agencies searched the area -- the police chief says several agencies searched the area throughout the night. police are questioning witnesses and the female victim. >> we believe he had some type suspect. >> reporter: by midday no sign of the suspect and that's why this parent wishes he had known sooner about the search. his daughter's school was on lockdown. >> that kind of stuff should be made known to the residents here that there is a violent criminal in town. i mean, obviously, we see when there is amber alerts. we get it on our phones right away. maybe there is a better way to let the residents know.

5:30, we find out how he might be able to challenge the outcome and what that means for you. there were a lot of claims last night in the debate and we are wading few a through of them so you know what's real and not. to back up his claims about a rigged election, trump says millions of people are registered to vote that shouldn't be. that statement is partially true, but cbs news says there has been no evidence that voter fraud actually exists. next, clinton's statement that donald trump presidential donald presidential candidate not to release his tax returns is view. the last was gerald ford in 1976. trump said he never met any of the women who accused him of sexual assault. that is false. he said he knew at least one of the women. cbs news also could not find any evidence to back up trump's claim that clinton's campaign

the better business bureau decided to pull support after reports that wells fargo stole from customers generating fake accounts. the bank has fired more than 5,000 employees since then and it could be three years before wells fargo gets back that accreditation. this won't take much convincing, but the tampa bay lightning are the best and, get this, the lightning actually ranked number one on espn's ultimate standings in four professional leagues. not just hockey. check the bolts beat 121 other professional teams. that includes all nhl, mlb, nfl, and nba franchises. and they won in categories that matter most to you. it considers 25 things, including ticket prices and recent on-field successes and how owners and players show appreciation for their fans. the bucs were number 73 up from 91 in 2015.

i've seen what can happen as the result of hate. my son matt was murdered in laramie, wyoming, in 1998. he was befriended by two men in a bar who pretended to be gay. they offered him a ride home, and when he was in their car, they robbed him and beat him. they drove matt out to the prairie and tied him to a split-rail fence, then beat him some more and left him for dead.

my family saw the best of america in the love and support we were shown. so when i see the hate that donald trump has brought to his campaign for president, it terrifies me. i'd like to punch him in the face, i'll tell ya. ahh, i don't know what i said, uhh, i don't remember. he's a mexican. i could stand in the middle of fifth avenue and shoot somebody, and i wouldn't... words have an influence. violence causes pain. hate can rip us apart.

clearing of skies, mostly sunny skies to start for your friday morning. 70 degrees. now, a little bit cooler for folks on the nature coast, which means citrus, hernando and pasco counties. readings there in the mid 60s. for the bay area, especially places like st. pete that are moderated by the water. the cultural coast, temperatures in the upper 60s. 69 bradenton. sarasota 68 degrees. polk county you're looking nice, too, mid 60s. now, throughout the afternoon, late morning in fact, we could see an isolated sprinkle, a few clouds move through. that's because a cold front is approaching from the north. so high temperatures friday afternoon mid 80s, and it will be breezy at times. now, let me show you the high temps across the nature coast. 85 dade city. mid 80s for the bay area. 84 clearwater. 83 st. pete. new tampa up to 87 degrees. all right.

because we have a very dry air mass in place. so even though we have a front coming through, it's going to be hard to see much rain. i think we will see most of the moisture staying out over the gulf. so if you are taking the boat out, be aware of that. here is where the front is starting to approach 11:00 in the morning. again a slight chance of just a few sprinkles, but not a whole lot, and then by friday late afternoon the front moves through clearing out and cooling down especially for the weekend. in fact, dew points in the 40s by saturday afternoon. we have been used to dew points in the 70s. so that is a huge drop in humidity and we are going to see much cooler temperatures. so here is the big picture. here is the front friday afternoon. moves through our area and then finally pushes through south florida late saturday, and behind it we have high pressure building in giving us a beautiful fall forecast. check it out. i want to spend some time on this because it's just so nice

look at those temperatures by the weekend. just a 10% chance of a few showers on friday. 57 degrees, that is our low on sunday. but temperatures by the afternoon warming to 81 degrees. then we slowly moderate temperatures through the work week. lows back in the low-to-mid 60s with highs staying in the mid 80s, and limited rain chances all the way through thursday. courtney. the philippines is cleaning up from the second massive the country is looking at a huge loss of crops and infrastructure. look at the damage right here on your screen. you can see roofs ripped off of homes. cars flipped over. fortunately, this typhoon hit a different part of the country than the one that hit just a few days ago. staying on top of your evening commute, you are taking a live look at the traffic creeping northbound on i-275. this is the tampa end of the howard frankland bridge.
