>> this got heated. we'll have more on the debate but our top story is the shooting rampage in kansas. we know the identity of the alleged shooter who opened fire on co-workers before he was shot and killed by police. blake mccoy is at the scene of the shooting. good morning to you. >> good morning, matt. four people dead here, including the gunman. 14 others injured. many of them apparently his co-workers co-workers. one police officer is being hailed a hero cop this morning. all of this comes as another community struggles to understand. >> reporter: this is video of cedric larry ford, posted on his facebook page. in his late 30s, allegedly went on a shootingampage at the excel factories. he is seen firing what appears to be an assault rifle. so far, police have not revealed a motive. >> pop, pop, pop.

i thought he was going to shoot me. >> reporter: police confirmed the shooter was an employee at the factory, which makes rideing mowers and lawn care equipment. the suspect had a long gun, possibly an assault rifle, as well as a pistol and appeared to be shooting at random. eyewitnesss stopped to help the wounded. >> he gothot twice in the chest, one in the arm and once in the leg. >> reporter: anxious relatives rushed to the scene. >> my daughter works second shift, along with her boyfriend, and my niece. >> reporter: the rampage started about an hour earlier, less than ten milil away. shortly before 5:00 p.m., police say the gunman drove through the south central town of newton, opening fire on two cars and injuring one person. from there, people say the suspect drove eight miles where he stole a car and injured another person.
