caption content and accuracy. visit ncicap.org] school dismydismissal process, the man behind the app that could help a whole lot of teachers and parents. >> we begin at 11:00 with the chaos and the crowd that gathered around a protestor after he was shot in the head in charlotte. we are told that man is on life-support right now, contrary to what evening that the man had died. police are saying the man was shot by another civilian and not police but the damage was already done and people who gathered began to throw rocks and bottles and even the tear gas canisters that police tossed into the crowds back at police. this all started as a peaceful protest in reaction to the fatal shooting of a black man by a police officer.

contradicting stories about what happened in that case yesterday, charlotte police are adamant that the shooting was justified. >> police and demonstrators have very different versions of the fatal confrontation that sparked a long night of sometimes violent protests. police officers say they were serving a warrant at an apartment complex when they noticed a man unrelated to their case, 43-year-old lamont handgun as the officers continued to yell at him to drop it. he stepped out posing a threat to the officer and the officer subsequently fired his weapon, striking the suspect. >> the officers he says gave scott multiple clear instructions to drop the weapon, and a gun was found at the scene, but family members say scott was unarmed simply reading
