democratic challenger in virginia. a new poll from monmouth university - which was released last thursday ahead of the south carolina primary gives her a commanding lead over then-senator barack obama by nearly 30 points. clinton is leading among both white and black voters. at today's event, she's hoping to take her message to the voters. her campaign says she'll explain why she's the best candidate to represent the democratic party in november by speaking on issues like jobs, college affordability, and criminal justice reform. clinton's event starts at eight and is free to anyone who wants to go. since last week, every major candidate in both parties with the exception of ohio governor john kasich has crossed this state, hitting every part of it. we'll by watching both primaries very closely tomorrow and we'll keep you posted with the full

about to we're following breaking news out of north carolina. fire investigators say two people died in a house explosion in cleveland county. that's about an hour west of charlotte. this is a live picture of what's left of the home. our affliliate station there reports a vehicle hit a propane tank and caused the explosion late last night. a couple lived inside. firefighters worked through the night to clean-up the scene.

happening today, planning consultants and norfolk city officials will hold a discussion on the future of military circle mall. they want you to learn more about the big changes ahead for the area. earlier this month, city council voted to back a 1 4-and-a-half-million-doll ar loan by the economic development authority to bring new businesses to the struggling mall. council hopes the loan not only helps the mall, which is in foreclosure, but also brings new jobs to the area. tonight's discussion is right next to the mall at calvary revival church on poplar hall drive. it runs from 5:30 to 7:00. today we're hoping to learn more from hampton police about who's been shooting out car windows in the fox hill section of the city. this is what many people on fort worth and stockton streets woke up to over the weekend - shattered glass and hundreds of dollars in repairs. 10 on your side's joe fisher found at least six cars damaged. one neighbor told us that officers told him they're investigating as many as 50 vehicles with similar damage. neighbors hope police catch someone

robert wineman/victim ((c271 15:32)) "i'm an easy going man but i was very angry that night ... in fact i told the policeman on friday night if i saw the car going down the street i'd probbaly want to go and shoot the windows out, you know." another neighbor told 10 on your side he found what looked like ammunition for a slingshot on the hood of his car. he said it looked like a marble. other neighbors told police they think the criminals shot frozen paintballs pellets to break the windows. portsmouth police are investigating two separate shooting incidents involving children from over the weekend. the first shooting happened on lancer drive just afte 10:40 yesterday morning. 30 minutes later, police say a second child was shot on moregate lane. in the first shooting, police say a 7-year-old boy shot himself in the hand. his mother was already driving him to the hospital when police learned about it. police say the boy was at home playing with a gun that was not locked up. the second shooting happened around 11:15 on morgate lane, in churchland.

another child accidentally shot the 9-year-old boy in the leg while playing with a gun. he went to the hospital and should be okay. police say charges are pending in both incidents. we have new information about how a fire started in newport news. check out this video a viewer sent us of a fire inside a commerical building. this happened around 1:45 yesterday afternoon on jefferson avenue near 17th street. firefighters say workers who were hot patching the roof started the fire. it was contained to just the roof. one person was inside the building at the time, but got out safely. firefighters got the fire under control in about 30 minutes, and no one was hurt. nasa postponed today's already- rescheduled rocket launch from the eastern shore, to tomorrow. they say the winds today will be too strong. they were originally supposed to shoot the rocket, much like this one, back in december. bad weather, payload problems and other issues kept delaying it. scientists hope they'll be ready to launch tomorrow between 9:30 and noon. the rocket will carry

from students at west virginia university. new this morning, millions of dollars are coming to virginia to help with disaster prevention. much of that money will help combat flooding in norfolk. the city says, it will get part of a $120 flooding due to sea level rise. these neighborhoods include tidewater gardens, grandy village, calvert square, huntersville and chesterfield heights. part of the plan is to add to the shorelines to keep rising waters back. experts say norfolk is the second most vulnerable area in the country for flooding, after new orleans. today a man charged with murdering his wife and killing a female police officer is expected in court. 32-year-old ronald hamilton is scheduled for an arraignment in prince investigators say hamilton's wife called police saturday during a fight. by the time three officers arrived, she was dead. hamilton is a solider who works at the pentagon. without bond. police say 28-year-old officer ashley guindon died during her first day in the field. she was sworn in on friday. two other officers were injured and have a long recovery ahead. hundreds of people gathered to remember officer guindon. the chief says she started with the department as an intern before joining the police academy. "(s/ chief stephan hudson/ prince william county police department :06) "she was exceedingly bright, obviously driven in what she was doing, and skilled in so many ways." officer guindon also served as a marine corps reservist. the news of officer guindon's death spread quickly and affected law enforcement in our area.
