carol: it took 9 hours for all the snow to accumulate. this is obviously the wrong story. a motorcyclist is dead following a wreck in greenville county. simpsonville police say a car and a motorcycle collided on main street. the accident happened in front of the auto zone store around 6:30 tonight. the victim has not yet been identified. michael: a hunter found a body in a field in greenville county. the coroner says the body was found in a wooded area on burrell road a tonight. the name of the victim has not yet been released. and authorities are looking for the public's help. if you know anything about this, call crime stoppers at 23-crime. you don't have to give your name. carol: the number of zika cases is growing across the united states tonight. right now, there are at least 30 cases in 13 states and washington, d.c. no deaths have been reported. a doctor tells us there is in south carolina at least one suspected case of a child born with a birth defect caused by the zika virus.

is being tested at the cdc. if you're pregnant, or plan to be, now is the time to learn all you can about this virus. it's carried by mosquitoes who bite an infected person and carry it to the next person they bite. it's believed to have caused an outbreak of microcephaly -- small brain, small head -- in babies in south america. the most dangerous time is believed to be the first three months of pregnancy. >> if you're planning travel outside the country, don't do it in areas that are endemic for zika. try to avoid that or postpone that. if you do have to travel use protective measures. if you have rerently visited one of those countries and found out you were pregnant, you should use a money that slices -- shou ld see somebody that specializes in maternal fetal medicine. carol: preventive measures to take during mosquito sn include -- stay inside to avoid

summer. get rid of any mosquito breeding grounds near your home. even a cup of wa can be a problem. use insect repellent when you go out. keep arms and legs covered. try to avoid areas where mosquitos are common. we have a lot of information about the zika virus. we've placed the entire interview on our website www.wyff4.com. michael: the richland county coroner has released the name of a usc st yesterday. the coroner says 19-year-old rachel bandman of virginia was found unresponsive in her off-campus apartment. he says authorities are investigating her death as suspicious. the coroner says they did not find any signs of trauma. he says the cause of death won't be known until toxicology reports are complete. carol: in north carolina, a quick thinking bank manager stopped an attempted bank robbery. surveillance video shows a man wearing a mask approach pnc bank. you can see the manager react and hold the door shut. the mananar didn't back down, even after the masked man used a gun to hit the door. it happened yesterday in zebulon

the suspect eventually ran off. michael: commitment 2016, the countdown to the iowa caucus is on tonight. in just over three days, the hawkeye state will offer the first big test of the presidential election. carol: new details about hillary clinton's emailslsust days before the iowa caucuses. the obama administration confirming tonight that clinton's unsecured home server contained dozens of emails with top secret information. those emails consist of closely guarded secrets. some requiring the highest level of classification. the state department is set to release more emails from clinton's time as secretary of state soon. the department isn't clear if clinton sent them herself. michael: congressman trey gowdy, chair of the benghazi committee, sent us this response, saying "it is the fbi, not the benghazi committee that is investigating the mishandling of classified information in connection with secretary clinton's use of an unsecure, private server to conduct official u.s. government

carol: today, president obama made his latest push for equal pay for women. he proposed a new rule that will require companies to report pay data by gender, race, and ethnicity. the rule would apply to companies that have more than 100 employees. white house officials says the rule will help investigate employers that are unlawfully shortchanging workers. the latest census data shows women earned just 77 cents of every man's dollar in 2012. michael: i have been kicking up the dirt. -- they have been kicking off the dirt. monster jam trucks were certainly testing ear protection at the bon secours wellness arena tonight. carol: and the deafening noise was music to management's ears. wyff news 4's john lyon reports the two-day event is part of busiest year yet at the well. john: the grave digger unleashes over 1500 horsepower as it roars around the dirt track to the pleasure of the crowd. >> a lot of demolition. >> i want to see scooby doo.

new record. and workers are changing the venue often between ice, wood, dirt, to circus, back to wood, and then ice. and those in charge say that's what revving them up. john lyon, wyff news 4, greenville. michael: oh yeah. parents gathered at in anderson county school, talking about the potential for downsizing within the district. anderson school district four says they have seen little growth in the last 10 years. dropping a school would save up to $1.5 million per year. one option is for pendleton element to school to turn into a middle school. another is to move riverside middle to a renovated mount lebanon elementary. >> i do believe they have our best interest at heart overall.. also i understand that people are very passionate about their schools. all the elementary schools are wonderful.

they all serve different needs. make this decision will be hard. michael: officials say no job be lost will either option. carol: trey gowdy paid a visit to a local elementary school to show off patriotism. they wanted a new american flag for their school, so they rode a letter to the congresstrey gowdy hand-delivered a new flag to paris elementary school in taylors. but it's not just any flag. rap. rep. gowdy: this flag flew on top of the capital on it november 11, 2015. so i will present this flag on b ehalf of all members of the south carolina delegation. carol: teachers in kindergarten students gathered outside to bring down the old faded flag, and to raise the new one. michael: oh, the cheering certainly has begun. thousands

michael: soon you'll be able to see clemson's campus without stepping on it. it's called google expeditions. it's a virtual reality project now including clemson university. a special camera was sent to clemson's creative services department with it, a team took 12 panoramic 360 degree pictures of campus and sent those back to

each shot. it's all part of an app. you will eventually be able to download it from the google play store. jesse godfrey was one of three who took the pictures for clemson. >> it'll be very helpful in showing what clemson is all about from an academic standpoint and also just showing off the beauty of campus. michael: the project is still being tested. there's no timeline yet on when it'll be available to the public. carol: an nfl star returned to his alma mater in hendersonville today. sam gash won a super bowl with the ravens. today he returned to hendersonville high school to present the school with a golden fofoball. this is happening all around the country. it's part of the celebration of the 50th anniversary of the super bowl. >> it's important to show that important communities. the nfl has brought a light to e importance of it in the community. carol: more than 2,000 high

it is cold with the breeze still in the northern and central earlier we had winds gusting over 30 miles per hour. now they are in the northwest at 8. hendersonville, northwest at10 miles per hour. that gives us a windchill of 23 in boone. 26 the windchill in hendersonville. humidity closer to the mountains. in greenville, only 41%. 40 in augusta. 39 along the grand strand of myrtle beach. 44 and went up. 37 in chattanooga. pretty cool down the peninsula of order. 53 in orlando. 56 in miami. while it's 23 degrees in cincinnati. high pressure builds in from the west. by tomorrow, it will be to the east of us. clockwise winds around the high, so the northerly winds are light. that will bring a smile to temperatures for the weekend.
