i mean, we used to open 24 hours but we stopped that. geoff: the clerk was taken to anmed after the shooting and underwent surgery. right now, there is no update on his condition. laurens county deputies are searching for two men accused of breaking into a home overnight. deputies say the home invasion happened along christian drive this morning. investigators said two men entered the home and shot the homeowner. according to deputies, the man's wife and child were at home during the shooting, but they were not injured. the homeowner was flown to greenville memorial with a gunshot wound to the leg. deputies have not released any information about the suspects. firefighters want to know what started a fire at the waterside crossing clubhouse on lake keowee. these pictures show the aftermath of the fire as the sun was rising. fire crews said the fire was reported around 2:00 this morning. and when they arrived, they found heavy flames coming from the roof of the clubhouse. while crews were trying to extinguish the fire, the building's roof collapsed.

firefighters were called to a construction equipment rental building overnight, after neighbors reported hearing explosions. crews said the explosions were reported around 1:30 this morning at sunbelt rentals on pearman dairy road in anderson county. two fire stations responded and had the fire out in about 30 minutes. no one was in the building at the time, and no injuries were reported. a teenager has died following a shootout in asheville. police were called to an apartment complex around 1:00 yesterday in response to shots fired. witnesses said the 17-year-old was hit by gunfire in the shootout. he died this morning at the hospital. police are continuing to interview witnesses. anyone with information is asked to call buncombe county crime stoppers. turning now to commitment 2016, south carolina voters only have 48 hours left to cast absentee votes for the republican presidential primary. wyff news 4's corey davis is live and local in greenville county at the voting offices on

corey, what's it looking like right now? looks like a long line. corey: a lot of people are here. take a look. i counted more than 50 people in line and they say you could expect to wait 30 minutes to one hour to cast your vote. much longer then it would take if you were to vote during the primaries. or the deadline, friday at 5:00 p.m. is the last day you will be able to vote absentee for the republican presidential primary and you must have a reason to cast your vote early. there are 17 different reasons that are allowed. people who are 65 years and older are allowed to cast an absentee vote. any say there is a chance they will not miss. >> not a step, no, but very important. everyone needs to vote. >> we have been busy for a while preparing for this.

greenwood genetics is a nonprofit that provides care for families impacted by genetic disease and birth defects. the tour is expected to begin at 2:45. happening tonight, the faith and freedom coalition presidential forum in spartanburg. it's at 6:00 p.m. at first baptist north spartanburg. ben carson and ted cruz are expected to take part in that forum. also happening tonight, one of c.n.n.'s presidential town halls will be happening right here in greenville. three of the gop presidential candidates will be at the old cigar warehouse at 8:00 tonight. cnn is hosting back-back republican town halls in the state this week. anderson cooper is set to moderate both events. tonight's event in greenville features ben carsoso ted cruz and marco rubio. the town hall will air live on cnn. the candidates will have the chance to answer questions from palmetto state voters. again, it begins at 8:00 tonight at the old cigar warehouse in downtown greenville.

featuring jeb bush, john kasich and donald trump. this afternoon, part of an upstate town is under a boil water advisory. belton combined utilities advises customers along pelzer, kelley, woodward, jackson, ramsdale and smythe streets to boil their water for at least drinking. resulted in a loss of water pressure and service to customers in that area. there has been no confirmed contamination of the system. however, because of the loss of pressure, the potential for contamination does exist. when folks think of heart attacks, they think chest pain, arm pain or jaw pain, but for 51-year-old scott, that wasn't the case. he was 45 years old, an avid biker and student at greenville tech. that is when he had his heart attack. he said he felt unusual after

high definition. itgeoff: in california, a judge ruled that apple must help the fbi break into the iphone once used by accused san bernardino shooting suspect syed farook. farook and his wife tashfeen malik died in a shootout with police after they reportedly shot and killed fourteen of farook's coworkers in san bernadino last december. since then, investigators have not been able to get past apple's security features and unlock farook's phone. a judge ruled yesterday that apple must help. but overnight, apple said they will challenge the court a dallas church was destroyed in a three alarm fire this morning. dallas fire officials say they responded to the fire around 7:30 in the morning. two more departments arrived a shortly after. fire crews surrounded the church and battled the blaze from several different angles. the flames destroyed much of the structure before firefighters could put out the flames.

injuries reported. there is no word on what started the fire. an american airlines plane clips the tail of a southwest plane in detroit. the wing of this american airlines boeing 737 struck the southwest plane, also a boeing 737 in a de-icing area at detroit metropolitan airport this morning. there are no reports of injuries on either plane. both flights were destined for dallas. passengers were moved to other planes. justice antonin scalia will be laid to rest this saturday. sources close to the family told cnn the funeral will be held at the basilica of the national shrine of immaculate conception in washington, d.c. scalia died over the weekend. he was 79. he will lie in repose at the supreme court on friday. yesterday, black drapes were placed on his supreme court chair and bench. pope francis and his historic trip to mexico later today with

we expect to see people start to fill the stadium long before the mass this afternoon. they will join in prayer and song, celebrating the papal visit. jay gray nbc news from el paso. geoff: thank you. some kind of story here. a man accused of stealing a backhoe digs himself into a deep hole of trouble in florida and it was all caught on camera. this dashcam video from the monroe county sheriff's office shows the man attempting to run in the backhoe along the florida keys' seven mile bridge. investigators say 59-year-old carl blahnik dumped boulders at the north end of the structure, then started crossing back and forth along the bridge, damaging the sides and the roadway. it took about 90 minutes to clean up the mess and make sure the bridge was safe before deputies reopened it to traffic. >> now, your live super doppler 4 hd forecast. dale: good afternoon.

chaperones were supposed to be back in utah monday after performing at the kennedy center for the performing arts and spending four days in the nation's capitol, but a blast of ice and snow canceled their flight. left with no hotel no , transportation and a lot of time on their hands, the kids decided to do what they do best. play a concert right in the terminal. we did not hear them that we assume it was pretty good. the group is booked on flights out later today. dale: that was great for all the other people stranded. good thing they could get to their instruments. since. the first dreamliner manufactured in south carolina rolled off the assembly line at boeing's $750 million assembly plant in north charleston almost four years ago. general motors is recalling about 200,000 saab and saturn cars in the u.s. and canada to replace the takata air bag inflators. it's part of a broader recall of about 5.4 million vehicles announced last month by u.s. safety regulators. takata air bag inflators can explode with too much force in a crash and spew metal shrapnel into drivers and passengers. worldwide, about 50 million takata inflators are under recall affecting more than a , dozen car and truck makers. remembered the memory crystals in the "superman" movies? well, there is no a real life equivalent that can store computer data for billions of years. researchers at the university of southampton created this video
