ladies and gentlemen, if we elect marco rubio, every day will be a great day in america. patrick: you can now add governor nikki haley to the list of those who believe marco rubio is the right candidate for the republican party. in the latest poll, rubio is behind front runner donald trump and senator ted cruz. mr. rubio: comprehensive approach to immigration has failed each time, and so now, we have to understand that the only way forward is through a step-by-step approach that begins with finally securing our border. we are a sovereign country. each country gets to determine when they come here and how they come here. patrick: ted cruz talks about the possibility of being sued by donald trump. mr. cruz: frankly, i laughed out

think anyone is surprised with and threatening to sue me, which he has done most of his life. patrick: dr. ben carson climbed seven percentage points, and tonight, he had his stage to the self as opposed to the crowded debate stage. dr. carson: by the time he got the 1960's, lbj was saying, we, the government, are going to eliminate poverty. how did that work out? more people on food stamps, broken homes, more poverty, more welfare, out of wedlock birth. crime in incarceration. everything is not only worse, it is much worse. patrick: jeb bush said he was disappointed that she did not endorse them, and this might be the reason. a poll from december showed that the governor has an 81% approval rating among likely republican primary voters. that could be a big payoff for rubio on saturday.

michael: we will see. has fallen behind ted cruz. carol: trump is behind with 26%, followed by marco rubio at 17%, john kasich at 11%, then carson at 10%, and jeb bush at 4%. just last month, trump held a 13-point lead over cruz. freedom council. carol: john lyon says both men spoke of their faith and try to keep any contest on the high road. dr. carson: the fact is, we are all people of faith. john: and dr. ben carson shared his faith with the audience. dr. carson: and then at that point, i said, you know what? it is not me. it is god.

michael: and we are down to it, south carolina voters only with 40 eight hours left -- 48 hours left to cast absentee votes. there are several categories where people can vote absentee, including 65 years or older. you have until 5:00 p.m. the day before each primary to cast the absentee vote in person. the polling offices will extend tomorrow and thursday of next week or absentee votes. governor nikki haley is supporting marco rubio, and others have thrown their support tied rubio, a clinic senator tim scott and representative trey gowdy.

doppler 4 hd weather forecast. john: as i mentioned earlier, clouds hanging tough back into north georgia, especially along the tennessee line, even some flurries in west virginia, a slight chance of squeezing out a flurry in the mountains, but that is about it. 33 when we started off this morning, and what about a high of 57? exactly where we should be for this time of year. at the asheville regional airport, pretty close to normal, actually four degrees above, and north/northwest. six degrees below the average in the mountains. i top of the peace center, our camera looking down on downtown greenville, -- on top of the peace center. 34 in asheville. 34 in toccoa. as far as temperatures in the upstate, it is pretty chilly out, to say the least.

it is 40 degrees right now in gaffney. 43 degrees in newberry. the temperatures will drop off, and the wind is still howling. 13 miles per hour in hendersonville. this is giving us a windchill of 22, and it feels like 24 degrees in asheville. even a wind chill of 33 in spartanburg. 23 in boone. it always increases a bit as we squeeze down the atmosphere at night, and this system out here in the rockies and out west, a lot of rain in the lower valleys in california, washington, oregon, even in parts of utah and nevada, and in the cascades, pretty heavy snow, and in the sierra nevada range. this will come down here and look like this. i was hoping we would finally get out of this winter tight pattern, but unfortunately, we

there is a dip in the jets. -- jet. 56 degrees in oklahoma city. so as we go through the night, this was a storm system that brought us our snow in the mountains, the wet snow and the rain, moving out to the. it was a week system w --eak weak system. unseasonably warm, and this is going to pass through but not before we get into the weekend. still, pretty nice weather. if forecast tonight, merely clear skies and cold, the loan you the freezing mark, the mountains probably cloudy skies with a cool breeze. tomorrow, in the spartanburg area, plenty of sunshine, the temperature 56 degrees, and we will start off at 40 at 9:00 a.m., upper 40's by around noon time. asheville, for tomorrow, mostly sunny skies, not as cold, lighter winds, and that is the

warming up to 45 degrees at lunchtime, 50 the high at 3:00 in the afternoon. so it will be nice, milder on friday, and a bit of a warm-up, even though more cloudiness over the weekend. into next week, unfortunately, a front is going to start out on top of us, and it will be unsettled, and we may have a wind kick in, so we may get wedged in where we see chilly temperatures below average, edit tuesday. -- and it might be cooler than this on tuesday. it might be enough to produce some wet snow in the mountains, maybe in the upstate as it tracks in just the right place and also intensifies, at least that bears watching, and that will be next week. carol: clemson is still in control of its destiny. brad: yes, they found a way to win against a team tonight.
