town hall that included jeb bush and john kasich. bush and kasich both chimed in on trump's feud with the pope. >> i don't question people's christianity. i think that's a relationship that they have with their lord and savior and themselves. so i just don't think it's appropriate to question donald trump's faith. he knows what his fatih is and if he has a relationship with the lord, fantastic. if he doesn't, it's none of my business. >> we have every right to build a wall but i tell you what, there are too many walls between us. we need bridges between us if we're going to fix the problems in washington because all they do is have walls. allyson: moving to greenville, senator ted cruz and dr. ben carson shared the stage at the bon secours wellness arena. the event featured dozens of speakers, all conservatives. the candidates are urged people to get out to vote for someone they think will rebuild the nation.

up for who we are and what we believe in in this country. >> and we are fed up with the damage and destruction coming from the corrupt politicians in washington. allyson: there were some voters at the event who haven't decided on a candidate and others said they hoped the convention would help their choice a little easier. those endorsing senator marco rubio, and there are several in the stator influential. geoff: some big names, covenant nikki haley is one. yesterday, she talked to us on how she came to that decision to back rubio. governor haley saying after she was talking to rubio it was , clear he was her choice, even though she actually calls another candidate a friend. >> let me tell you that governor bush is a friend, a very dear friend and someone who has been a mentor and someone who has done great things to help me on every step of the way. but when you have to find someone who is going to be president, you have to think bigger than who your friend is. geoff: marco rubio has landed some big endorsements in the

alongside governor haley, he has the support of senator tim scott and congressman trey gowdy. allyson: here is a look at where the candidates will be campaigning today. jeb bush will be campaigning with his mother in the upstate. he and the former first lady mrs. barbara bush will be a wade's restaurant at 9:30 a.m. you're looking at video of bush campaigning in anderson last week. he'll be holding a meet and greet in greenville at noon at the kroc community center. that's on westfield street and noon. and his last event of the day will be a rally in central at 6:45. the other candidates holding events in the low country, midland and grandstand. geoff: marco rubio will be in clemson today for a rally. allyson: lester holt will anchor "nightly news" from south carolina today. geoff: tomorrow night as soon as the polls close at 7:00 we'll , bring you full coverage of the election results, live reports from across the upstate, from candidate watch parties.

at 11:00 with everything you need to know about the south carolina gop primary right here on wyff 4 and on our mobile app. allyson: on the democratic side, congressman jim clyburn is expepeed to endorse hillary clinton today. cnn is reporting the congressman will make the announcement at 11:00 this morning, at allen university in columbia. clyburn is the highest ranking elected democrat in south carolina. geoff: also backing hillary clinton for president, michelle kwan. the former olympic figure skater stopped by our wyff 4 studios. kwan told us she spent time working under the clinton's leadership once she retired from the sport. >> i saw first hand her leadership, her vision, the truth is nobody is more qualified than hillary clinton. her experiences as secretary of state, first lady, secretary of new york understanding both domestic and foreign policy working over party lines, and , that is who i want in the white house.

across south carolina. allyson: meanwhile, clinton's opponent bernie sanders spent time in nevada. we're just a day away from the democratic caucuses there. yesterday, sanders met with civil rights leaders at the national urban league in washington, d.c. sanders says he understands the struggles the african american community goes through today in america. geoff: in other news, we have an update to breaking news we told morning. a chase involving greenville county deputies ended in a deadly wreck and powdersville. the man who was running from authorities is now in jail. the anderson county chief deputy coroner says 62-year-old stephen burnett of easley died at the scene. here is a picture of the man deputies arrested 25-year-old , dexter reeves. that george ordered him held with no bond overnight. -- a judge ordered him held with no bond overnight. according to the coroner, reeves' car was turning onto highway 81 when it hit burnett's truck. reeves is receiving treatment at

greenville cou allyson: the greenville swamp rabbit hockey team have a game at bon secours wellness arena tonight. geoff: we give you kind of the back story. because of bad weather earlier this month, two of the events were combined. here is night and celebrate greenville and they will recognize several local businesses, leaders in greenville and recognizing and honoring several local heroes for their bravery and courage in the line of duty. allyson: also, the swamp rabbits will wear novelty jerseys during the game that will be auctioned off afterwards with proceeds benefiting upstate warrior solution, the greenville fire association scholarship fund and the marcus whitfield youth camp. you have been to one of those. seems like a lot of fun. geoff: it is great what you can do it is sporting event in those jerseys will look fantastic.

the only precipitation we are seeing are a couple of spots in pennsylvania, northern virginia, a sprinkle of snow and high pressure clears things up nicely looks good for most of the weekend. temperatures this morning go from 39 in greenville, spartanburg at 32, 34 in fountain inn, caesar said that 30. by the afternoon -- caesars head at 30. by the end of the afternoon, amid to upper 50's. the breeze is that a northeasterly this morning become more southeasterly and southerly later today, about 5:00 to 9:00. historically on a 30 year basis, 36 overnight and 57 for a hard, so we have one of the -- 57 for a high, so we have one of the typical days. we are going to see some upper 60's this weekend by sunday.

the upstate will get up to 63. not quite as cold tomorrow morning. mid 40's on sunday morning and high of 67. 42 in the mountains in the morning, to 61 on sunday afternoon with a late chance of showers. for and the mountains on monday, 50% to 60% chance of rain. geoff: thank you. let's turn to national headlines this morning. the so-called affluenza teen will appear in court this morning to learn whether his case will be moved to adult court. ethan couch was moved from a tarrant county juvenile facility to an adult jail two weeks ago. that moved didn't necessarily mean his case would be heard in an adult court. couch was 16-years-old when he drove drunk and caused a crash that killed four people in dallas. if a judge moves the case to adult court and he violates probation, couch could be sent to prison. allyson: justice antonin scalia's body will be laid in repose today in the great hall of the supreme court building. a private ceremony will be held before the public is invited to pay their respects.

chief justice william rehnquist in 2005. as part of supreme court tradition, a black drape is also hung over the courtroom doors, scalia's chair on the bench, and the bench itself. the funeral is expected to be held on saturday. geoff: a sixteen-year-old boy is in critical condition after a helicopter made a crash landing in the waters of pearl harbor, hawaii. take a look. good samaritans who saw the crash jumped in the water to rescue the five people on board. first responders rushed to the scene and transported the pilot and four passengers to hospitals. no word yet on what caused the crash landing. the navy said the helicocoter is owned by genesis aviation, a company that gives helicopter tours of oahu. the federal aviation administration is expected to investigate. allyson: the fbi searches a california home connected to a relative of one of the san bernardino shooters. the home, tied to the brother of shooter syed farook, has been searched before. but thursday, federal agents were seen carrying out a box of things and a computer.
