that stayed on the inside with him, and they called him smiley because it always looked like he was smilin' at you. geoff: the cause of the fire is still under investigation. in greenville county now, officals are investigating a single-car fatal wreck. the greenville county coroner says 27-year-old benjamin charles cruey of easley was driving west on saluda dam road near oba road early this morning, when he ran off the left side of the road in a curve hit a large boulder and , overturned. the coroner says cruey died from blunt force trauma and was pronounced dead on the scene. a greenville county school bus was involved in a crash this morning. school officals say there were nine students from fork shoals elementary school on the bus when it got rear-ended on higway 25 near clark road. no students were injured in the crash, but the bus driver was transported by ems to be checked out, andndhe driver of the car was injured and airlifted to the hospital. their injuries are unkown at this time. cathy williams lives on highway

tonight, ahead of the primary. beginning at 6:30.. in other news at noon a person , is recovering after being caught in the crossfire of a shooting in greenville county. it happened on butler avenue yesterday afternoon. police say one person was injured by shattered glass. officers say gunshots were fired from two different cars. right now, nobody is in custody. the spartanburg county coroner's office says a 55-year-old from north carolina has died after a fall earlier this week. ronnie lee hall was a contract worker at bmw. officals say hall was taken to spartanburg regional medical center after falling on the job, where he later died. a couple of suspects accused of killing a teen in ththupstate were apparently more concerned about cameras than the courtroom. >> yeah, i got a question. what these cameras for? >> it's the news media. >> the news media? what's up, y'all? you can follow me on twitter follow me on instagram,

geoff: talking about social media. albert taylor is accused of shooting 17-year-old kejuan brown at tri-city lanes in easley wednesday night. jamari fair, dennis gibbs and a fifteen-year-old are also charged in the case. police say the group went to the bowling alley to fight after an argument over social media. in north carolina now, a pilot died in a small plane crash yesterday on his way back from daytona, florida. the plane went down in wooded area in marshville in union county. authorities told our affiliate in charlotte that 68-year-old , james cook of lexington north carolina died in the crash. he was on his way home after dropping off the passenger when he reported engine trouble. the faa is expected to begin its investigation later today. turning to sports now, happening tonight, the greenville swamp rabbits have two themes for their game against the south carolina stingrays. tonight is heroes night and

justice antonin scalia observed court. today, the nation pays they respect to one of the most influential and at times controversial supreme court justices. pete williams has more from outside the susueme court. pete: justice antonin scalia will find repose the rest of the day in the great hall of the supreme court building. his casket arrived earlier today, carried inside by supreme court police officers, as nearly 100 of justice scalia's former clerks stood on the marble steps acting as honorary pallbearers. president obama will be here later today to pay his respect in the supreme court is open to the public today for those who want to file him a pass and say that final goodbyes. tomorrow, the funeral at the basilica of the national shine of the immaculate conception washington, where vice president joe biden will attend, and they will honor justice scalia. president obama may announce his choice of a nominee as early as

pete williams nbc news at the supreme court. geoff: the so called affluenza teen is in court today. ethan coach will appear before a judge in fort worth, texas, who will decide whether his case will be transferred to an adult court system. couch had been on probation for a fatal drunken-driving crash that killed four people. his attorney argued that he had been coddled by his parents and suffered from affluenza. late last year, couch and his mom took off to mexico after the 18-year-old allegedly put his probation at risk by appearing on video at a party. take a look at this. no, this isn't lava flowing from this mountain. it's just an illusion. it's called fire wall, and it only happens around this time of year. it's really just the angle of the sun during a few weeks in february. when it does happen, photographers flood to yosemite to take pictures. the story of a missing dog in pennsylvania has a happy ending.

retruever, was reported missing -- golden retriever was reported , missing on monday and was rescued out of a 15-foot hole two days later. this is video the alpha fire company posted to their facebook page of the rescue. skye's owner tired to get help finding her dog by posting , photos on social media. those photos were shared thousands of times, but no one spotted skye. however, when the owner was searching wednesday morning, she could hear the dog barking from inside of the hole. firefighters managed to pull the dog up to safety. skye was taken to a vet to get checked out and now she is back home. apparently, doing well. always nice to report good stories. as a checked the numbers on wall street, the dow jones down 25 points, the nasdaq going the other way, up 17, and s&p 500 down a couple. allen's next film. it plans a nationwide release for the untitled romantic comedy

it helps people find their pets if they get lost. personally, i have had a cat that i found and a dog that i found that were operating in the neighborhood and i could take them in the we were able to get the chip scanned and got them back with their owners. geoff: that is important. usually about $25. tom: well worth it to do that. you just have to it a couple of minutes, but we also offer vaccinations, low-cost vaccinations, heartworm preventative medicine, free preventive medicine, all these things to keep your pet clean. all sorts of services, preventive services at the human society. geoff: bottom line, lots of reasons to visit the greenville humane society. tom: for sure.
